Chapter 239: C205(2)

Her voice was steady, and her expression betrayed no fear. "Loki, your transgressions far outweigh mine. You've broken every taboo—deceiving the king, plotting against your own brother, and betraying your mother. My intrusion may be forgiven, but your sins are unforgivable."

"Loki," Frigga interjected, her voice cutting through the tension. Her eyes darted to the hammer in Wonder Woman's hand before locking onto her son.

As Asgard's queen, Frigga was no fool. Though her age had diminished her physical strength, she had once been a formidable warrior and a master of magic.

Even now, her keen intuition allowed her to sense the truth behind Loki's schemes.

Frigga trusted Loki deeply and had refused to entertain any doubts about him. But now, standing in front of her, someone was openly accusing Loki of treachery.

She couldn't ignore the expression on his face—it was grief-stricken, yet unmistakably unnatural.

Though Frigga was only Loki's adoptive mother, her love for him ran deeper than that of any birth mother. With a single glance, she could tell that Loki was hiding something.

"Mother, I will explain everything," Loki said, his voice calm yet tense. His eyes, however, remained locked on Wonder Woman at the door.

Without warning, he raised the scepter high. Energy rays crackled and coalesced at its tip before exploding forth, surging toward Wonder Woman with lethal force.

Boom!

Wonder Woman leaped back, narrowly avoiding the attack. The energy blast shattered the ground where she had stood, sending shards of stone flying and shaking the palace to its very foundations.

Yet, amidst the chaos, Odin remained motionless on his golden bed. His eyes were shut tight, his expression unchanging, as though the destruction around him was of no concern.

Suspended mid-air, Wonder Woman's gaze swept briefly over Odin, taking in his serene, unmoving form.

'Is this old man faking it?' she wondered, her lips curling into a wry smirk.

Whoosh!

Suddenly, Loki darted out of the palace, his robes billowing behind him. He wasn't interested in a direct confrontation with Wonder Woman.

Instead, his mind was fixed on the Bifrost Bridge. If he could unleash a destructive energy beam and obliterate Jotunheim, he could present himself as Asgard's savior.

That would justify his actions to both Odin and Frigga—and cement his claim to the throne.

"Hmph!"

Loki glanced back at Wonder Woman, who hovered in the air like a storm about to break. Mounting a Pegasus stationed outside the palace, he took off, galloping through the skies toward the Bridge.

Wonder Woman, unwilling to give him even the slightest advantage, raised Mjolnir high.

Crackle! Crackle!

The heavens roared as lightning gathered around the enchanted hammer. With a mighty swing, she hurled Mjolnir at the fleeing Loki, aiming to cut him off.

"Damn it!" Loki cursed, leaping from the saddle just as Mjolnir struck.

Boom!

Thor's hammer smashed into the Pegasus with devastating force. The creature let out a mournful cry before disintegrating into nothing but blood and fragments.

"Such a pity," Wonder Woman muttered coldly. Though her tone seemed regretful, her actions showed no hesitation.

She called Mjolnir back to her hand, summoning its full power once more. Thunder crackled around her, illuminating the darkening sky.

Loki, for all his cunning, was not a skilled warrior. His strength lay in manipulation, illusions, and deceit—traits that had earned him the title of the God of Mischief.

But above all, Loki was an expert at escaping.

Boom!

A bolt of lightning descended, striking Loki dead-on—or so it seemed.

"An illusion?" Wonder Woman muttered, narrowing her eyes as the Loki struck by her attack flickered and vanished into smoke.

Crack!

The lightning slammed into the ground, shattering it. Cracks spiderwebbed outward, splitting the earth beneath the palace.

Buildings trembled under the force of her strike, their foundations groaning in protest.

Throughout Asgard, citizens looked to the sky, their faces filled with shock and confusion.

The power unleashed was unmistakably Thor's—every Asgardian could recognize the signature of the Thunder God. But when their eyes found the figure wielding the lightning, they froze.

It was not Thor.

Instead, it was a tall, unfamiliar woman clad in glimmering battle armor, commanding the storm with ease.

The people stood silent, struck with awe and disbelief.

"Who is that?"

"Why does she have the power of Thor?"

"Could she be the king's illegitimate daughter?"

Asgardians, known for their bravery and unflinching nature, even in the heat of battle, still found time to gossip.

Their curiosity about the mysterious woman wielding Thor's power was palpable, despite the chaos around them.

Of course, neither Wonder Woman nor Loki paid any attention to the crowd's musings as their battle raged on.

Boom!

Loki continued conjuring illusions, skillfully dodging Wonder Woman's thunderous attacks as he steadily made his way toward the Bifrost Bridge.

He knew better than to engage her directly. If he could just complete the final step of his plan, victory would be his.

Hovering mid-air, Wonder Woman watched Loki's illusions multiply, blocking her path. She snorted in irritation, hurling Mjolnir to destroy most of them.

Then, crossing her forearms, she struck her silver bracelets together with a thunderous clash.

BOOM!

A surge of divine power erupted, reverberating through Asgard and sending waves of fear through its citizens. Even the bravest among them stood wide-eyed, stunned by the overwhelming force.

"Such power… only someone with the blood of the All-Father could wield it," one murmured, voicing the question on everyone's mind.

"Who is this woman?"

As the divine power grew stronger, their astonishment deepened. The battle unfolding before their eyes left no room for doubt—this was no ordinary foe.

BOOM!

A massive shockwave, rippling like waves on the sea, exploded outward. The air itself seemed to twist and churn as the wave annihilated Loki's illusions in an instant, exposing his true form.

Loki stumbled backward, panic flashing across his face as the shockwave sent him crashing to the ground. His scepter flew from his grasp, clattering far out of reach.

Whoosh!

Mjolnir, obedient to Wonder Woman's call, returned to her hand with a crackle of lightning.

Loki lay sprawled on the ground, momentarily defenseless. His expression shifted from panic to cold defiance as Wonder Woman raised Thor's hammer, preparing to strike.

BOOM!

The ground shattered beneath Wonder Woman as she leapt into the air, her immense power leaving a massive crater in her wake.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Her figure streaked through the air like a meteor, Mjolnir blazing with crackling energy. She descended on Loki, ready to deliver the final blow.

"NO!"

A sudden voice rang out.

Out of nowhere, another figure appeared, throwing themselves between Wonder Woman and Loki. Arms spread wide, they stood resolutely, shielding the fallen trickster.

"Wonder Woman, don't kill him!"
