Destroying My Own World

Chapter 303: Familiar scene.

Mykel was walking escorting Aevia and he was deep in thought after the close to infinite memories of lifetimes that he absorbed in the lake. He knew what happened to the past lifetimes that came before his timeline and what kind of worlds they were. All of them ended in a gruesome way, similar to what happened to his world, the abyss devoured everything.

"You got rid of the abyss inside me and gave me your power. You said I'm going to be your eyes and hands, but what does that mean?" Mykel asked and looked at Aevia's hand on his right palm.

"You will see," Aevia answered as she walked at the same pace as Mykel toward the clock. "A human once said that history will repeat itself. They weren't wrong because anything will come back at least once," she continued.

Mykel had no thought about Aevia's words because he would need more than that before he could confirm what she meant. He didn't realize that he was already in front of the clock and that the needles hadn't moved.

"Now, let's start the clock," Aevia touched the clock and put her long fingers into the clock like keys. "But this time, we both will manipulate it to the extreme and see what kind of world we will create," she added as she looked at Mykel and then the needles started to move, making a loud noise that hurt the ears.

Every time the needles moved, they released water at the bottom that would become a stream. At first, it was just a small pool of water, but then suddenly Aevia summoned thousands of arms on her back. She used all her strength to stop the needles from moving, but then she pushed all of them in a different direction, messing up the timeline.

Mykel had to take a few steps back because a flood was coming out of the clock. The currents of streams that he saw earlier were all gentle, but this one was fierce and strong. The stream was uncontrollable and unpredictable, and it made him wonder what was happening there.

"You will meet strong, omnipotent, and invincible beings that are destroying each other," Aevia said as she floated in front of the clock and above Mykel. "Now, Mykel. It's time for you to eliminate those threats," she continued.

At first, Mykel was intrigued to enter that world, but he was more curious as to why Aevia did that and for what reason. He knew he would enjoy his time there, but he wasn't someone who would waste his time doing something for nothing.

"I told you. You will know later, so get in there," Aevia said. "Touch the clock and you will enter the world it's creating," she pointed out as she sat on top of the clock with her legs crossed.

Mykel walked toward the clock and put his hand on it with his eyes closed. He could feel the flow of the stream and he felt like he could walk into the clock, but he hesitated if he should do it or not.

"The reward is inside, and that reward will depend on how good you're doing your job," Aevia said and then snapped her fingers, pushing Mykel into the clock.

Aevia watched the flood below her as she rested her chin on the palm that rested on her thigh. She could see Mykel in there, and she slowly smiled when the needles started to move randomly.

"Now... what should I do with these persistent cute little things?" Aevia asked herself and noticed that somehow Elena, Sasha, and Amaryllis managed to track their way back to her place. "Should I greet them?" she giggled and then she snapped her fingers, sending the clock and the stream away and hiding them.

Mykel opened his eyes and noticed that he was sitting in the park, and he noticed people around him had weapons on their bodies. He couldn't help but chuckle after he knew how that world was born and what was happening.

"Do you like what you see? It feels familiar to you, right?" Aevia asked as she suddenly appeared and sat next to Mykel with the same appearance. "Gods exist, demons exist, it's the same as ever. Quite boring if I may say," she added.

"Why are you here?" Mykel asked.

"I'm not here. We are connected and what you see is just your imagination and my thoughts," Aevia answered as she looked at Mykel. "Also, your lovely daughter is back. She's quite determined to get you back. I have to say, you're quite loved by your people," she said.

Mykel noticed that people were staring at him because of his undeniably charming aura.

"You promised me," Mykel said and didn't even bother to look at Aevia.

"I did, and I'm not planning to harm her. But that would be a different scenario if she tried to harm me first," Aevia giggled. "I'm just joking. I'm not going to harm them since I have no reason to do so. Also, it's the only reason why you agreed to serve me. I don't want to lose someone as capable as you are," she added.

It became awkward between the two of them, and neither of them had something to say. It was just as Aevia said that she was there because of his imagination and that she would stay there as long as he wanted her to be there.

"I have learned that it's hard for you to trust someone, so I want to build trust between us," Aevia said and looked at Mykel as she rested her head on her fist. "You trusted your own people since they were your creation. That's the same for me since I'm the one who created you, but the question is, can you trust me as they trusted you?" she asked.

"Words mean nothing, the action is what matters," Mykel answered as he stood up. "It depends on your actions whether you're worthy of my trust or not. And I'm doing the same if my action is enough to prove that I'm trustworthy or not," he pointed out as he stared at Aevia.

"Understandable and I'll keep that in mind," Aevia nodded her head in agreement. "Anyway, it looks like something interesting is going to happen now," she added and looked at the distance.

Mykel looked in the direction where Aevia was looking, and then the bright blue sky that was so peaceful suddenly turned gray. Dark clouds formed in the sky that only formed in one spot, and that attracted everyone's attention. Not long after that, a bolt of lightning struck, leaving a big rift in the sky and all the way down to the ground.

"Aren't you interested?" Aevia asked as she stood right next to Mykel.

Mykel scoffed and then started walking toward the rift with hundreds of people right in front of him. Read exclusive content at My Virtual Library Empire

Those people were similar to Awakener where they were given powers by Gods. Unlike Earth, the Gods that existed in that world were different from the ones Mykel knew. They were strangers to him, but Thanks to the memories he received, he knew everything about them.

When Mykel arrived where the rift was opened, he saw thousands of people in knight armor, light armor, and half armor. He could tell which one of them that were strong and which one of them was weak based on their equipment. He didn't know much about the people that lived in that world, but he knew for sure it was similar to the one in his novel world. The world only had a few countries even though it was bigger than Earth.

He was smoking his cigarette and observed the people around him gathering and finding a party to enter the rift. It was fun to watch because he could see the ones that were near the rift were the strongest Awakeners and the further people from the rift were the weak ones. He then decided to walk to the front to see the strongest people with Aevia following him from behind.

"This is the tenth time a rift is opening, we know from the scripture that this time we are going to face a demon called Alion, the Frosthorn," A man in big full-plate armor is like a paladin with medium-length brown hair.

"We have prepared cold resistance potions that are enough for all of us, and it should be enough for a week. Let's try to clear this rift in a week," A man pointed in a fantasy-like armor that fit on his body's curves. He looked like the leader of the group since everyone was facing him. "We should wait for the Jenevive Guild before we enter the rift since they're the ones who can clear the path for us," he added.

They all nodded in agreement, and nobody dared to enter before them since they were like the heroes that had cleared more than half the rifts that appeared on Earth.

When they were waiting for the Jenevive Guild, they saw Mykel walking toward the rift and walked past them. They looked at him weirdly with their eyebrows furrowed, but then they noticed he was trying to enter the rift. It was already too late for them to stop him, and they didn't want to follow him because they thought he was crazy or suicidal.

Not long after Mykel entered the rift, the Jenevive Guild came with dozens of Awakeners. They heard people murmuring about Mykel who entered the rift on his own, and they wondered what kind of a person he was.

Since everyone had gathered, they didn't waste time and went into the rift to check on Mykel. But, when they entered, they were dumbfounded when they saw hundreds and even a thousand corpses of creatures in the distance.

"Find that man," The man in paladin armor said.
