Chapter 304: Troublesome.
"What the hell happened here? These monsters are not weaklings..." A man asked with sweat on his face even though it was frozen cold. "Over there. It's the same monster that we fought from the previous rift, the Frosthorn Wolf," he added and looked at the white wolf twenty meters tall, white as snow with long four icicle horns on its forehead.
"What we fought was a lot smaller than this one. It can be said that we fought the young wolf, but this one is like the adult one," A woman with short purple hair said and looked at the corpse of the Frosthorn Wolf. "It took all of us to kill one, but if that man killed this on his own, how strong can he be?" she asked as she gulped.
"Not to mention none of these bodies have any wounds on them. They're not unconscious either, they're all dead," A man in fit armor pointed out after he checked the bodies around him. "How did they die?" he asked with a troubled and anxious expression.
"We can know the answer once we find that man. For now let's keep moving and track where he went," The paladin man said as he led the whole group forward.
They all followed him and looked at the corpses and they found more dead bodies of the adult Frosthorn Wolves as they tracked where Mykel went. They were nervous, in disbelief, and terrified by the man who killed all of those monsters on his own.
When they walked miles away, they kept seeing dead bodies and there was no sign of Mykel. Their hearts were racing and the further they walked, the more dead bodies of unknown monsters that were as big as the wolves around them. They were so nervous and anxious that the cold didn't bother them anymore.
"Shh!" The paladin put his index finger on his lips as he signaled to everyone to stop moving.
They stood still and listened to their surroundings, and then they could hear a faint roaring sound in the far distance. The moment they heard that, they all ran toward it as fast as they could to meet Mykel.
They ran through the forest and got rid of the frozen bushes as they didn't care anymore if they made loud noises. They ran as fast as they could, but then the paladin stopped because he saw a frozen lake in front of him. The others stood right behind him and they all made the same expression, shocked by what they saw.
Hundreds of gigantic monsters were scattered on the frozen lake and they saw Mykel walking so casually with hundreds of Frosthorn Wolves in front of him. The wolves were whimpering as they took steps back when Mykel approached them. When one of the wolves decided to fight, before it could reach him, the wolf collapsed and died.
All the Awakeners were dumbfounded as to what had happened to the wolf, but then they saw more and more of the wolves collapse. They finally got one of the answers on how the monsters died without a single wound on their bodies. When they watched Mykel, they saw him looking over his shoulder and glanced at them.
"He came here in a suit?" A man crossed his arms with his eyebrows furrowed. He was the leader of the Jenevive Guild with a long spear in his left hand. "Does any of you know who that man is?" he asked and looked over his shoulders.
His guild members shook their heads and the others behind them also shook their heads.
"What are we waiting for? Let's catch up on him," The man in fit armor said and stepped his foot on the frozen lake.
He walked so carefully since it was slippery, and then the others followed him from behind. They were afraid that the ice might break, but a mage in the group assured them that the whole lake was frozen solid.
It took them a while to reach the middle of the lake while Mykel was already on the other side. He watched them struggle to keep balance on the frozen lake as he smoked his cigarette. He was waiting for them and didn't plan on going forward on his own anymore.
They managed to cross the lake and they all stood in front of Mykel who was leaning against a dead tree with a cigarette in his mouth. They were staring at him for a while and none of them recognized his face or who he was.

"Are you perhaps one of Her Majesty's men and came here to clear the rift? One of the Zero Tier gifted?" The paladin asked and looked at Mykel with suspicion.
Mykel stared at the paladin right into his soul and he could read the man's memories and gain a lot of information about the world in detail. A Zero Tier or a Tierless Awakener where their power couldn't be calculated and held a calamity-like power. They were Awakeners that were too dangerous to be left alone, and so the Faelethria Kingdom where the queen ruled the country took all the Zero Tier Awakeners and made them her own.
"Can we know who you are?" The leader of the Jenevive Guild asked.
"My name isn't important. I have cleared the path for you, so go ahead and deal with the boss of this place," Mykel said as he tilted his head toward the hill where an ice palace could be seen on top of it in the distance.
Mykel needed more information about the current situation of the world he was in. It was his plan all along to gather as much information as he could by attracting the important and strongest people since they held secrets that no ordinary people knew about.
"So he's indeed Her Majesty's man. How terrifying," A woman said and stared at Mykel with her sharp black eyes and long black hair that covered half of her face.
They introduced themselves to Mykel, only the important people who held power in the raid. The paladin's name was Devlin Ironsoul, and the Jenevive's Guild leader was Alaric Reynard. Those two were the only names that mattered in Mykel's eyes, and so he decided to tag along and went to the ice palace.
They asked so many questions to Mykel, but he didn't answer a single question nor did he open his mouth. His mysterious aura made everyone can't stop looking at him and wonder who he was. His charm also attracted women who wanted to walk next to him or behind him so they could look at him from up close.
"We are here," Devlin said as he stood in front of the entrance to the ice palace. "Remember. We are dealing with a demon called Alion, the Frosthorn. We don't know how strong he is, and those who have low cold resistance should stay back and don't even dare to try and fight him," he added as he looked at them.
Everyone entered the palace and they were affected by frostbite, but thankfully the potions that they had prepared were enough to remove the frostbite. They all then carefully explored the palace, and there was no monster inside which only made everyone more anxious.
"This is the only door left that we haven't checked, and by the look of it, this door might lead to the main hall which only means one thing," Alaric said as he looked at the ice door with carvings on it.
"Alion is behind this door, waiting for us," Devlin responded.
Everyone was busy building up the courage to open the door, but suddenly Mykel kicked the door open because he had no time to wait. The moment the door was blasted open, a cold chill came out and struck everyone's faces. The cold was too powerful even the potion couldn't stop the frostbite and their feet were frozen and became one with the ground.
The mist was blocking Mykel's vision, but then he squinted his eyes and dispersed the mist in front of him. When he could see the demon that resided in the palace, he was quite surprised when he saw the demon.
"Remember what I said? The reward is inside this world, and you can say that this is one of your rewards if you do well," Aevia said as she put her hands on Mykel's shoulders from behind.
Mykel looked at Kiersha who was sitting on the throne of ice, but she had two long icicle horns. Her gaze was as cold as the ice enough to make everyone's blood freeze when they looked at her eyes.
"You're saying, all the mess that happened in this world. It was all because of my own people?" Mykel asked as he walked down the hall.
"Remember when you were drowned? The abyss inside your body got washed up in the current," Aevia answered as she stood right behind Mykel and kept holding his shoulders. "Let's just say that I accidentally stole their souls and put them inside the clock," she added with a huge smile that could be seen behind the white cloth.
"So, you're telling me to get rid of the accident in this world where the accident itself was created by my own people?" Mykel asked with his eyebrows raised.
"Something like that, yes. Also, you can either kill them or take them with you back once it's over," Aevia answered and acted innocent. "But you need to remember. They were bathed in the current as well, so they're not the same as the ones you knew. You need to be careful and of course, have fun," she continued.
"So a bunch of troublemakers," Mykel sighed as he flicked the cigarette. "But I might enjoy this," he continued and stared into Alion's eyes with a smirk on his face.
"And I'll be watching from here," Aevia chuckled.
