Chapter 50: Chapter 50
Chapter 50: Nine Spiritual Cats
"Okay," Xiao Wu responded without hesitation.
"You are indeed good sisters," Ning Rongrong smiled happily, walking to Xiao Wu's side and taking her arm affectionately.
Xiao Wu smiled and glanced at Ye Feng.
Xiao Wu's actions were clear. The only reason she agreed to form a duo with Ning Rongrong was because of Ye Feng. Ning Rongrong was Ye Feng's junior sister, so Xiao Wu naturally had to get along well with her.
The Shrek Academy monsters began to find their duos. Oscar found Dai Mubai, Ma Hongjun teamed up with Tang San, and Xiao Wu formed a pair with Ning Rongrong. Soon, only Ye Feng and Zhu Zhuqing remained without a partner.
"Ye Feng, would you be my partner? I think we could form a Martial Spirit Fusion Technique together," Zhu Zhuqing said calmly, though her inner excitement was obvious.
"Martial Spirit Fusion Technique?"
"Martial Spirit Fusion Technique?"
"Martial Spirit Fusion Technique?"
Everyone gasped in surprise. Zhu Zhuqing just said she could form a Martial Spirit Fusion Technique with Ye Feng's Martial Spirit.
"Zhu Zhuqing, are you serious?" Flanders asked, his voice filled with surprise.
As a member of the Golden Triangle, Flanders knew exactly what the Martial Spirit Fusion Technique meant for a spirit master.
The power of the fusion technique wasn't just an addition of two spirits, but an exponential boost in combat effectiveness.
In the spirit master world, it's rare for anyone to form a fusion technique with another spirit master. Even twin soul masters or those with the same spirit might not succeed in forming one.
"Yes," Zhu Zhuqing nodded firmly.
"Can you really form a fusion technique with Ye Feng?" Dai Mubai asked, frowning.
"Yes," Zhu Zhuqing nodded again.
"Boss Ye, is this true?" Dai Mubai asked, his gaze still skeptical.
Dai Mubai was Zhu Zhuqing's fiancé. His spirit was the Evil-Eyed White Tiger, which could fuse with Zhu Zhuqing's spirit to form the Nether White Tiger fusion technique. Now, Zhu Zhuqing was telling him she wanted to fuse her spirit with another man!?
"Yeah, I feel the same way," Ye Feng said, nodding confidently.
"Hahaha, it looks like this year's academy has really accepted two amazing monsters. Zhu Zhuqing, Ye Feng, you two should definitely team up," Flanders laughed joyfully.
"Dean, the Continental Advanced Spirit Master Academy Elite Competition is coming up soon. I suggest that each of us wear a mask when participating. Let's speak less and use nicknames during the competition. This will prevent others from finding out our ages and allow us to keep our fighting styles a secret from those with ill intentions," Ye Feng suggested.
"Okay, that's a great idea. We'll do as you say," Flanders agreed with a nod.
"In addition, the eight of us should participate in team competitions every day. This will improve our coordination and maximize our combat effectiveness," Ye Feng added.
"Alright," Flanders nodded again.
"Also, I personally require a straight run between Shrek Academy and Soto City. I'll carry a hundred kilograms and run back and forth thirty times every day," Ye Feng continued.
"What?"
"Thirty times back and forth?"
"And you're carrying a hundred kilograms!? Ye Feng, have you forgotten the distance between Shrek Academy and Soto City?"
Everyone stared at Ye Feng in disbelief. Running back and forth 30 times a day with a weight of 100 kilograms?
That wasn't something normal people could do—it was something monsters would attempt.
"Hahaha, it's rare for you to ask for such a thing. But do you think you can handle it? It would take about two hours to walk from our academy to Soto City even at a normal pace," Flanders asked.
"I can do it," Ye Feng answered confidently.
By running between Shrek Academy and Soto City every day with that kind of weight, Ye Feng no longer needed to seek practical lessons from Zhao Wuji or listen to other teachers' lectures.
"Alright, it's rare to see someone this diligent. We'll try it tomorrow," Flanders said.
"Okay," Ye Feng nodded.
"Mu Bai, take them to register," Flanders ordered.
"Yes," Dai Mubai nodded and led the others into the fighting arena.
While in the arena, Dai Mubai, Xiao Wu, Tang San, and the others explained the different levels of the fighting spirit badges. There were eight levels, from lowest to highest: Iron, Copper, Silver, Gold, Purple Gold, Sapphire, Ruby, and Diamond.
"The Silver Fighting Spirit badge is at level three; it's not that hard," Xiao Wu said, smiling confidently.
"It's not that simple. I started at level 20, and my current record is 29 wins and 27 losses, with only two points," Dai Mubai admitted, clenching his hands.
"Mu Bai, with your strength, how come you only have two points?" Tang San asked, surprised.
Although Tang San hadn't fought Dai Mubai at the Rose Hotel, he had seen Dai Mubai's power during his battle with Xiao Wu. So why only two points in the arena?
"Nothing is impossible. It's not easy to win in the Soto City Fighting Spirit Arena. Fatty, tell them your record," Dai Mubai ordered.
"Twenty-one wins, twelve losses, nine points," Ma Hongjun said.
"Understand? The battles in the Great Soul Fighting Arena are divided into different levels, and soul masters face opponents according to their levels. The duo you face will be determined by the highest soul power between you. Ye Feng's soul power is at level 49, and Zhu Zhuqing's is at level 27. If you two team up, you'll face opponents over level 40. It's very likely that both of them will be Soul Lords over level 40. Zhu Zhuqing, do you still want to team up with Boss Ye?" Dai Mubai explained in detail, trying once more to persuade her.
Zhu Zhuqing was Dai Mubai's fiancée, and he didn't want her to fuse with another man, even if it wasn't a physical fusion but just a martial spirit fusion.
"There's only motivation when there's pressure," Zhu Zhuqing replied calmly.
"Alright, go ahead and register," Dai Mubai finally conceded.
In the Great Fighting Spirit Arena, each person could only participate in one individual match per day, but they could compete in different types at the same time. With some luck, one could score up to three points in a day. In as little as two months, one could earn the Silver Fighting Spirit Badge.
Dai Mubai and Oscar formed a duo, Xiao Wu and Ning Rongrong formed the Seven Treasures Charm Rabbit duo, and Tang San and Ma Hongjun formed the Three Horses duo.
"The registration fee is ten gold spirit coins," the attendant at the counter said.
Ye Feng snapped his fingers, pulled out ten gold spirit coins from his bracelet, and placed them on the counter.
"Team name?" asked the attendant.
"Zhu Qing, you pick a name," Ye Feng said with a smile.
"Let's call it... Nine Heart Spirit Cat," Zhu Zhuqing said after a moment of thought.
