Douluo: Infinite Lottery System

Chapter 54: Chapter 54: Who are you?

Tang San finished the last shovel of soil, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and turned to ask, "I'm done here. How about you?"

"I'm done here too." Dai Mubai stomped his foot firmly on the ground, looking around and nodding in approval. "There's real strength in numbers. This would have taken much longer alone."

"Then what are we waiting for?" Oscar tossed his shovel aside, his attention already drawn to the kitchen. The mouthwatering aroma filled the air, making his stomach growl. "Let's go, I'm starving!"

Everyone quickly made their way to the kitchen. As they entered, they were immediately drawn to the scene in front of them.

Xiao Tianyang stood with his back to them, wearing an apron around his waist and a scarf on his head. He was stirring something in a pot with a spoon. The sizzling sounds and tantalizing aroma of the stir-fried ingredients were irresistible.

Even more impressive, a long dining table was set before them, with nine places arranged. Each spot had a dish for one person. It had a slightly Japanese style with a bowl of white rice, a bowl of seafood soup, a plate of hamburger meat and fish, plus a small salad.

Saber, who had arrived early to help, stood behind a table, arranging the nine plates neatly.

Suddenly, Xiao Tianyang turned around. The food in the pot seemed to come alive, leaping out and landing perfectly on the plates without spilling a drop of soup.

"Are you all done?" Xiao Tianyang asked, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth as he paused his movements. "It's just in time."

Before the words were even finished, Xiao Wu was already at the table, chopsticks in hand, ready to dig in. The others also casually took their seats. Saber, though her eyes sparkled with excitement, still held back She finished serving the dishes before sitting down next to Xiao Tianyang.

"Since it's night, I didn't cook too much but it will be more than enough for everyone," Xiao Tianyang waved his hand casually. "Don't hold back, just eat."

Dai Mubai was a little surprised. In front of him were only a few simple dishes: one fish, one soup, one meat, one rice, and a serving of raw vegetables.

It didn't seem like much, but before he could think further, Ning Rongrong, on the other side, couldn't wait to pick up a small piece of hamburger meat and pop it into her mouth. The outer layer was crispy with a hint of burnt flavor, adding a harmonious touch to the overall taste.

What was even more surprising was that the hamburger meat melted immediately as it hit her tongue, sending an overwhelming burst of flavor through her taste buds.

Ning Rongrong's eyes lit up with stars as she exclaimed, "It's so delicious!"

"This soup is so fresh!" Zhu Zhuqing added, a rare smile forming on her lips.

"Is this chicken?" Oscar asked, eyeing a new plate of food. "And what are these yellow bits?"

"This is called curry," Xiao Tianyang explained. "I brought it from Suotuo City. I added a little extra, so it might be a bit stronger than usual."

Xiao Tianyang wasn't in a rush. He took his time, chewing carefully. Xiao Wu quickly joined in, her little head bobbing excitedly. "This fish is also delicious!"

"And these vegetables!" she added enthusiastically.

"It's called a salad," Xiao Tianyang corrected her.

He glanced over at Saber, but she was lost in the flavors, half-closed eyes, savoring each bite with a look of sheer enjoyment on her face. It was clear she wasn't just enjoying the taste, but truly immersed in the experience.

Suddenly, Xiao Tianyang had an idea. He reached into his Ring and pulled out a bottle of amber liquid. He placed it on the table and asked, "Who wants a drink?"

"I want!" Oscar raised his hand eagerly. Xiao Tianyang tossed the bottle over to him without hesitation.

Oscar caught it, uncorked the bottle, and immediately a fruity fragrance wafted through the air, capturing everyone's attention. Even Saber, who had been so focused on her meal, turned toward the scent.

"It smells amazing, but why do I detect a hint of alcohol?" Dai Mubai asked suspiciously.

"Don't worry," Xiao Tianyang said with a sincere smile. "This is just a fruit drink. You won't get drunk."

"Well, in that case..." Dai Mubai nodded as Oscar quickly poured him a glass.

"I want some too!" Ning Rongrong's eyes gleamed with curiosity. Zhu Zhuqing was hesitant, but when Oscar approached her, she relented and allowed him to pour her a glass.

On the other side, Zhao Wuji sat alone in his office, staring helplessly at the sword mark across his chest. "What's going on with this year's freshmen? Each one is more monstrous than the last."

"First, there was Tang San, then Xiao Tianyang, and now... what's her name? That one has a really strange name," Zhao Wuji muttered to himself, shaking his head. "They're all so young, but their skills are incredible. Xiao Tianyang... he's the most unbelievable of them all."

"Forget his combat experience—those two spirit rings are what's mind-blowing. To obtain those kinds of soul rings requires immense physical fitness," Zhao Wuji thought back to earlier that day, still shocked.

"Zhao Wuji!" A low voice suddenly broke through the air outside. Zhao Wuji felt an eerie chill run down his spine.

He was a Soul Sage, with perception so finely tuned that any trouble should have been easy to detect, but the voice had come from nowhere. No energy signature. It was as if the speaker didn't exist at all.

Instantly, Zhao Wuji sprang to his feet, bursting through the door and shouting, "Who's there?! Show yourself!"

His roar formed a shockwave, shaking nearby trees and causing leaves to fall. But in the darkness, there was no sign of the intruder.

Zhao Wuji's narrowed eyes locked on a large tree, and from behind it, a man in a black robe emerged. Zhao Wuji's eyes widened in realization.

"Who are you? What do you want?" he demanded, his voice growing serious.

The man in the black robe stepped forward, his voice cold. "No one. I just want to fight you. That's all."

A purple hammer materialized in the man's hand, and as it did, nine soul rings slowly lit up from beneath his feet—yellow, yellow, purple, purple, black, black, black, black, and red.

"Title Douluo!" Zhao Wuji's pupils shrank in shock, his body trembling. "Senior, have I somehow offended you?"

The man in black merely scoffed. "No. But Motionless Bright King's reputation is impressive. He's very good at bullying children. I'm sure you won't refuse my challenge, will you?"

Zhao Wuji froze, nearly cursing out loud. What was going on here? He'd had enough trouble during the day, and now this?

He wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry, but he knew one thing for certain: the man standing before him wasn't joking.
