Chapter 3: Help is on the way
Bulma, upon hearing Goku's words, remembered the old man they had met on the beach and the first thing that came to mind was the memory of her having shown too much to the old man, because Goku had taken off her panties without her knowing.
Kayn could see the redness rising on her face, and her expression was a mix of shame and anger. He didn't know exactly what she was thinking, but he knew it was about Master Roshi.
"Did you get the flying nimbus from him?" Kayn asked Goku "Then that makes things easier, you just have to go to him and bring the Bashousen that Master Roshi has. Once the fire is extinguished, I'll help you get the dragon ball"
An excited smile appeared on Bulma's face, replacing her previous anger "Did you hear Goku!? You just need to go to the old man and ask for Bashousen, then we'll have the dragon ball"
Even Oolong sighed as the situation was being resolved peacefully 'I thought I was going to turn into bacon'
The one who didn't seem very happy about all of this was Chi-Chi, who had a discouraged look. Finding Master Roshi would help put out the flames on the mountain, that was great, but it would put an end to his adventure.
"If that's all we need to do, then fine!" Goku said excitedly, before turning his gaze to the sky and shouting "Come on, flying nimbus!"
Appearing between the white clouds, a small golden cloud came towards them, descending at an incredible speed and stopped in front of the spiky-haired boy.
Seeing Goku jump on the flying nimbus, Kayn said "When you meet Master Roshi, tell him that his disciple, Ox-King, needs Bashousen to put out the fire on Mount Frypan. If he gave you his flying nimbus, he certainly trusts your character"
With a nod, Goku left, flying on his flying nimbus, heading towards that beach where he found the old man.
Very focused on his goal, the boy didn't notice that there was another car not far from where they stopped.
Just over a hundred meters away from where the group was, behind a sturdy rock, a car was hidden, and next to it were two people, a young man with long hair and a small blue anthropomorphic cat.
"Goku went somewhere..." The young man said, before using his binoculars to observe the group, more specifically Kayn "But with that guy over there, we won't be able to steal the spheres anyway!" His tone was one of pure frustration.
"Yamcha, do you think he's really that strong? I bet you can handle him!" The little blue cat said, trying to cheer up the young man.
Yamcha shook his head slowly "If it's like the rumors say, I don't stand a chance... And even if I had the strength to defeat him, would it be worth offending the Ox King? No, we need to wait for them to get away from here, then we'll rob them"
The Ox King's fame was enough to be treated as a legend in books, which even children knew about, there was no way someone dedicated to martial arts like Yamcha wouldn't know about him.
Kayn's existence may not have been mentioned in books, but there were more and more rumors about him, extolling him as someone invincible.
Not everyone believed it, but those who were spared by him knew the truth, not even machine guns could stop that young man, so what else would they call him if not invincible?
For normal people, there was no way not to fear someone with Kayn's strength, especially knowing that he was still just a teenager.
...
Back at the small group, Chi-Chi looked at her brother with an uneasy expression "Kayn, but what about our adventure? If he brings Bashousen we'll have to go back home, but we just left!"
The young man couldn't help but smile "Like it or not, our goal was to bring Bashousen to put out the fire, if we can do it faster the better"
"It's not fair!" The little girl crossed her arms. "I thought we would travel for a long time and see many different places"
The other two were right next to them, listening to everything and Bulma had a thoughtful expression on her face and with clear ulterior motives said "Why don't you come with us to get the dragon balls? It certainly is an adventure"
Just by looking at the young girl's gaze at Kayn, Oolong had deduced everything 'She's already wanting to throw herself at this guy, just like that bandit from the desert!' He couldn't help but feel angry.
Kayn made a surprised expression, he intended to join the group, but he didn't expect to receive a direct invitation from Bulma.
"Yes!" Chi-Chi said without even thinking "It's going to be fun looking for the spheres, a real adventure!"
"But with the one in the castle, we'll have six, so there'll only be one left" Oolong said.
"Ouch!" The little pig let out a soft cry, then looked down at his foot, which had just been stepped on by Bulma, who was giving him a death glare.
The girl knew very well that he had tried to discourage the brothers from joining them, so she wanted to beat Oolong up.
Kayn didn't want to waste that chance, so he said "Even if it's just one dragon ball, we'll still need to make a trip to get it, so it seems like an adventure, we might as well go"
A wide smile appeared on Chi-Chi's face "That's it!"
Bulma felt a mixture of relief and happiness when she heard that, no longer caring about Oolong's failed attempt.
"I'm glad you're joining us, everything is better with good company" She said with a sweet smile.
Oolong couldn't help but grumble "Good company... You're all a bunch of lunatics, and now we're going to let a demon join us"
His voice was too low for any of the others to understand his words, but they could all hear him mumbling "Do you want to say something?" Bulma questioned him with a sharp look.
"It's nothing! I was just thinking out loud" The little pig quickly lied, not wanting to be beaten anymore.
Not caring about his nonsense, Kayn just ignored it and spoke to the blue-haired girl "Everything happened so suddenly, so I ended up forgetting to introduce myself. My name is Kayn and this is my little sister Chi-Chi" He pointed to the little girl behind him.
At the same moment, he felt something hitting his arm, it was Chi-Chi punching him "I already told you not to call me little!" She pouted, while trying to make an angry expression.
Bulma didn't pay attention to the girl's tantrum, her gaze was focused on Kayn "My name is Bulma, I'm 16 years old and I'm single. Nice to meet you!"
Kayn scratched the back of his neck, giving a smile 'I knew Bulma was pretty eager to have a boyfriend at that time, but I didn't remember her being this desperate'
Bulma's intentions were so obvious that even Chi-Chi had noticed it. The little girl stared at her brother, wondering if he was interested in that girl.
"Why are you dressed as a bunny?" Chi-Chi questioned, turning her gaze to Bulma's clothes.
A slight blush appeared on the girl's face when she remembered her current attire, a small doubt arose in her heart, which made her wonder if this pleased Kayn or made him find her vulgar.
Despite this, she was unfazed and explained sincerely "I ended up losing all my things recently, so I was left with no clothes to wear… This outfit Oolong had was the only one that fit me"
Chi-Chi made an even more confused expression looking at the little pig "And why was he wearing a bunny costume?"
At that moment, there was a flash in Kayn's mind 'Holy shit! I always assumed that Oolong had that to make one of the girls wear it, but what if he wore it himself, using his ability to transform into a girl?!'
Oolong wanted to say something, but there was no way any explanation from him would improve the situation.
Bulma had an idea why, but she didn't want to tell a little girl like Chi-Chi, especially since she looked so innocent, unlike the perverted Oolong, who probably wasn't much older than the little girl.
...
While the small group continued talking, Goku had already reached the sea, now all he had to do was find the place where Master Roshi lives.
Although he didn't know the exact location, with a rough idea and with the help of the flying nimbus, he managed to find it after some time wandering around the sea.
In the original story, Goku was supposed to be accompanied by Chi-Chi, which didn't seem to make any big differences, it just made the process faster.
The perverted old man still wanted to touch Bulma's breasts in exchange for her help putting out the fire, and Goku had no idea how much of a problem that was, just accepting it easily.
In the end, everything had followed the same path, Kayn's interference had not yet been enough to change history.
...
Although the flying nimbus was quite fast, the distance Goku had to travel to get to Master Roshi's house was very great, so hours passed and he still hadn't returned.
The small group was still pretty much in the same spot, they had just left the road, and were now further to the side, gathered near a tree.
Even so far from the mountain, Bulma was still quite affected by the heat. Her bunny costume had a very low neckline, but the material of the outfit was very warm, so she was sweating a lot.
"How can you live in this place? I'm melting!" She asked, as she used her hand to fan some wind from her face.
Oolong wasn't much better off than her, but both Kayn and Chi-Chi were completely fine and not a drop of sweat was dripping from their bodies.
"I guess you get used to it over time" Kayn shrugged. He had actually assumed that his Ki protected him from the extreme heat naturally, but telling the girl that would only make her more confused.
"It must be lunch time by now, when will that boy be back?" Chi-Chi's voice sounded from above.
Kayn looked up and saw the little girl hanging from one of the tree branches, holding on with her legs, while she was upside down. The helmet on her head kept all her hair from being affected by gravity, but her cape was there, almost touching the ground.
Suddenly, as if answering the little girl's question, Goku appeared in the sky, descending towards them "I'm back!"
