Dragon Ball: The Strongest Training

Chapter 68: The Mysterious Key

"Beep—Approaching wormhole, autopilot disengaged."

A mechanical voice echoed from the control panel.

"Enough fooling around, hurry up and fly the ship!"

Xial's hair was a bit messy, and her face was slightly flushed as she spoke.

Hearing this, Krillin let go of Xial and chuckled, "Let's see if you dare to mess around next time."

"You're so annoying! Just go already!"

Xial pushed Krillin with a hint of grievance in her eyes.

Krillin skillfully piloted the ship, smoothly passing through the wormhole.

As they traveled through, "Mourning Star" began to emit an unusual reaction.

Its red glow flickered, and as they drew closer to Zisan Star, the flickering became more frequent.

Krillin returned to his seat beside Xial.

Seeing her slightly messy hair, he couldn't help but comment,

"Sit still. Don't move!"

"Enough playing around, Mourning Star seems to be acting strangely," Xial said seriously.

"I'm not messing around, just tidying up your hair," Krillin replied in a serious tone.

"Ah, is my hair that messy?"

Saying this, Xial turned around, facing away from Krillin.

Krillin smiled and gently ran his fingers through her galaxy-like silver hair, patiently smoothing out every strand, from her neck down to her lower back.

After carefully combing for a while, he nodded in satisfaction.

"Alright, done!"

Xial glanced at her reflection and playfully narrowed her eyes.

"You must have practiced this before. Have you done this for other girls?"

Krillin instantly denied it, shaking his head like a drum.

"No way! Never! If I ever did, it was only for my mother!"

Hearing this, Xial's heart melted with joy.

"So… I'm the first girl Krillin has ever brushed hair for," she thought, eyes gleaming with happiness.

Mourning Star's Anomaly

"By the way, what did you say about Mourning Star acting strangely?" Krillin asked, refocusing.

"Look!"

Xial held Mourning Star in her palm.

The flickering red glow had intensified as they neared Zisan Star.

Krillin's eyes sharpened.

"As expected… Mourning Star is deeply connected to Zisan Star."

"We should hurry back. Maybe we'll find answers on Zisan Star," Krillin concluded.

Xial nodded in agreement.

The interstellar ship traveled at incredible speed.

In under two hours, they arrived at Zisan Star's upper atmosphere.

The Return of Mourning Star

At that moment, every remaining survivor of Zisan Star had gathered near the sacred temple.

Ska had returned first, spreading the news—

"The princess has retrieved Mourning Star!"

Hearing this, the Zisan people were overwhelmed with tears of joy.

Their lifelong mission was finally coming to an end.

As Princess Xial approached the second layer of the temple,

the survivors felt a strange energy pulling at them, growing stronger by the second.

"The princess has returned with Mourning Star! Long live the princess!"

Ska shouted, his voice trembling with excitement.

His call ignited the emotions of every Zisan survivor—

Tears streamed down their faces, hands trembled uncontrollably, their voices choked with emotion.

BOOM!

With a loud crash, the spaceship landed on Zisan Star.

As Xial stepped out, Mourning Star's red glow intensified, illuminating the sky.

The moment the Zisan people saw their princess,

they dropped to their knees, raising their hands in reverence, chanting—

"Long live the princess!"

Xial's heart surged with emotion at the sight.

She raised her voice—

"Citizens of Zisan Star! Mourning Star has returned! From now on, we are free—no longer bound to this star system!"

The Zisan people wept openly, for this moment had been the hope of countless generations.

With a gentle flick, Xial released Mourning Star into the sky.

It hovered, spinning, radiating an intense crimson light before slowly drifting into the temple.

"Ska, assign everyone to their roles," Xial instructed.

"Yes, Princess!" Ska bowed respectfully.

The Hidden Chamber

Krillin and Xial exchanged glances, then quickly followed Mourning Star.

It was moving on its own—clearly, something was off.

As they passed Xial's living quarters, Krillin curiously glanced inside.

Immediately, Xial covered his eyes with her hands.

"Don't look! Hurry up and find Mourning Star!"

Finally, they arrived at a secluded hot spring.

Steam rose gently from the crystal-clear water.

Krillin's eyes widened in surprise.

"Wow! I never knew the temple had such a beautiful spot! Why didn't you tell me, Xial?"

But Xial's face had turned completely red.

This was where she bathed.

"Why… why would Mourning Star come here?" she muttered.

Above the hot spring, Mourning Star flashed brilliantly,

its crimson light reflecting off the water's surface.

Suddenly—

BUBBLE BUBBLE!

The hot spring water began boiling violently, turning a deep shade of red.

Then, without warning—

WHOOSH!

The entire hot spring dried up, revealing a keyhole-shaped indentation at the bottom.

"How is there a keyhole here?!"

Xial was stunned—she had never noticed it before.

Mourning Star continued spinning in the air,

but its glow had dimmed significantly.

Krillin's eyes narrowed.

"That shape… Mourning Star is definitely a key!"

Leaping up, he reached for Mourning Star.

"AHH! HOT—!"

As soon as he touched it, a burning sensation shot through his hand.

With a hiss of smoke, he recoiled, clutching his bright red palm.

"Krillin! Are you okay?"

Xial rushed to his side, gently holding his injured hand.

She blew softly on his palm, trying to soothe the burn.

Her voice was filled with concern, "That must really hurt… doesn't it?"

At first, Krillin felt an intense sting,

but as Xial's cool breath swept over his hand, the pain lessened—

instead, he caught a hint of her sweet fragrance in the air.

"I'm fine! Just a minor burn, doesn't hurt at all!"

Krillin puffed out his chest, trying to act tough.

"Pfft—!"

Xial giggled.

She couldn't hold back her laughter at how obviously Krillin was pretending not to be in pain.

"You're laughing?!"

Krillin lightly knocked her on the head.

His gaze returned to Mourning Star, a serious expression on his face.

"This little thing is no joke. It felt like it was burning my very soul…"

But when Xial approached, Mourning Star instantly floated toward her, landing in her palm.

Krillin's eyebrows twitched.

"Are you serious? Does this thing have face recognition or what?!"

"Try it," Krillin urged.

With a deep breath, Xial slowly stepped forward,

placing Mourning Star into the keyhole indentation.

As soon as it clicked into place—

BOOM!

The entire planet of Zisan seemed to tremble.

A wave of freedom swept through the land.

But no dazzling red light appeared—just an eerie silence.

Krillin frowned.

"What's happening…?"
