Chapter 67: A Massive Surge of Energy
Krillin slowly ascended into the sky, gazing down at the alien base below. In his hands, he gathered a tremendously powerful Ki blast.
"Vanish into the dust of the universe," Krillin said calmly.
A massive Ki wave surged downward at an incredible speed, heading straight for the alien base.
Inside the base, red warning lights flashed frantically, and an urgent alarm blared:
"WARNING! MASSIVE ENERGY SIGNATURE DETECTED! INCOMING ATTACK! ALERT! ALERT!"
BOOM! BOOM!
The ground trembled violently as the alien base was instantly obliterated in a colossal explosion.
Screams of agony echoed throughout the area as countless aliens were caught in the devastation. The chain reaction triggered additional secondary explosions, causing numerous alien weapons, ships, and storage facilities to detonate in fiery bursts.
Krillin hovered in the air, watching the flames consume everything below. His face remained unmoved—he felt no sympathy for these ruthless invaders.
Every single one of them had blood on their hands.
If anything, wiping them out was a righteous act.
With a flash, Krillin vanished and reappeared inside the Phantom spaceship. The fury in his heart immediately subsided.
"Set course for Planet Zisan!" Krillin commanded.
"Acknowledged. Destination: Planet Zisan. Engaging full-speed travel," the ship's A.I. responded mechanically.
Siyal had felt the tremors from the explosion outside.
Even though Planet Yngwu was only a secondary homeworld for her people, a feeling of sorrow still crept into her heart.
Krillin suddenly teleported to her side, gently grabbing her hand as he sat down beside her.
"What are you looking at?" he asked softly.
Siyal immediately recognized his presence. She shook her head but remained silent.
"They got what they deserved," Krillin said firmly.
He knew that Siyal was a kindhearted person. Even though these aliens were criminals, seeing so many lives burning in flames must have unsettled her.
Wanting to distract her, Krillin put on a playful expression.
"You know, just now, you were terrifying. You almost scared me to death," he teased.
Siyal immediately forgot about the destruction below and turned her full attention to Krillin.
Her expression shifted to concern, her golden eyes widening slightly.
"Did I really scare you…?" she asked, her voice laced with worry.
She didn't even remember what had happened—as if all the rage she had repressed over the years had suddenly burst out uncontrollably.
Krillin saw her anxious gaze and burst into laughter.
He leaned closer, wrapping his arms tightly around her in a warm embrace.
"I was just messing with you," he whispered gently. "You're way too cute to ever scare me."
Realizing she had been tricked, Siyal's face flushed red.
She puffed up her cheeks in frustration and attempted to break free, but Krillin was one step ahead.
With a smirk, he firmly held onto her wrists, preventing her from escaping.
Siyal struggled briefly before deciding on another approach—she opened her mouth and attempted to bite him!
Krillin saw her rosy lips approaching and grinned internally.
"Oh? You're making the first move? I won't hold back then!" he thought mischievously.
"Ahh!" Krillin suddenly cried out, clutching his mouth as if in pain.
Siyal's eyes widened in panic.
She immediately rushed forward to check on him.
"Are you okay?! I-I didn't mean to hurt you!" she stammered anxiously.
Krillin pretended to mumble, keeping his tongue stiff, "It… hurts! I bit my tongue… I think I'm bleeding…"
Siyal's face turned pale.
She hurriedly tilted his chin up, inspecting his mouth.
Sure enough, there was a small trace of red at the corner of his lips.
Her golden eyes shimmered with guilt, and her expression became even more worried.
Seeing her so flustered, Krillin decided not to push the joke any further.
He quickly dropped the act, lowering his hand.
"I'm fine," he said with a grin. "See? No problem at all!"
Siyal blinked in confusion, then pouted in frustration.
"You tricked me!" she huffed.
Before she could retaliate, Krillin wrapped his arms around her again, bringing their foreheads together.
With their noses almost touching, Krillin gazed into her eyes and spoke softly:
"I would never hurt you… only cherish you."
Siyal's cheeks burned red as her heart raced.
Though she pouted playfully, she couldn't hide her smile.
"Hmph! I still say you bullied me!" she declared.
Krillin chuckled. "Fine! Then I'll bully you some more!"
Siyal smirked proudly. "Hah! Not anymore! I'm stronger than you now!"
Krillin's smile froze.
He suddenly remembered that earlier, Siyal had fought evenly against Berserk Zarveza.
"Wait a minute…" Krillin turned serious. "Did you get the Twilight Star?"
Siyal nodded firmly.
She held out her hand, and with a brilliant crimson glow, a chain-shaped artifact appeared in her palm.
Krillin's eyes gleamed as he finally got a good look at the Twilight Star.
"So, this is the artifact that kept your people bound to this star system for generations? Even at the cost of their own extinction, they never abandoned it…?"
Siyal suddenly handed it to him.
"Here, it's yours," she said sincerely.
Krillin raised an eyebrow. "You're not worried I'll just take it and run?"
Siyal didn't hesitate. "You wouldn't dare!" she said, flashing her fangs playfully.
"If you try to run… I'll bite you again!" she threatened with a cute growl.
Krillin smirked. "Like last time?"
Siyal's face turned bright red.
She muttered under her breath, "I'm not talking to you anymore…"
Krillin decided to examine the Twilight Star further.
"System, analyze the Twilight Star."
Ding!
Twilight Star: The Key.
That was all the system revealed.
Krillin's eyes widened.
"A key?! After all this effort… and it's just a key?"
He returned the artifact to Siyal.
"What does the legend say? How is the Twilight Star supposed to be used?"
Siyal held the artifact close, lost in thought.
She then recalled a memory from her childhood—her father's words.
"Siyal, remember—when the Twilight Star descends, the power of time and space will awaken. Our mission will finally be complete."
Little Siyal had asked in excitement, "Father! Where can I see this power of time and space?"
After a moment of silence, her father had replied:
"Return to Planet Zisan."
Back in the present, Siyal's eyes refocused.
She murmured, "We need to go back to Planet Zisan… the answers might be there."
Krillin frowned. "The power of time, huh? I felt something when I touched those ancient runes before… but space?"
Everything was still a mystery.
Krillin turned to the system. "Got any ideas?"
Silence.
Krillin sighed. "Fine. I'll pay 1,000 energy for a hint."
The system scoffed.
"Figure it out yourself."
Krillin's eye twitched.
"Looks like we're heading to Planet Zisan to find out," he muttered.
