Chapter 137: Chapter 137: He likes...
Second-Floor Platform
Seeing Zalama dressed in a youthful JK uniform, Vados felt her worldview shatter.
She simply couldn't imagine it—the legendary Dragon God, Lord Zalama, wearing a JK uniform!
"Master Zalama… why are you dressed like that?"
Vados voiced the question that was on everyone's mind.
Rados and the others also nodded in agreement. They, too, found it difficult to believe that the great Dragon God who created the Super Dragon Balls was now standing before them in a schoolgirl outfit.
"This?" Zalama glanced at himself before casually explaining, "Master Kahn requested it."
Silence.
Vados, Bulma, and Android 18 froze on the spot.
They had been with Kahn for years, yet none of them had ever known he had a thing for JK uniforms!
"Whoa… Dad's into that kinda stuff?" Rados muttered in disbelief.
"Vados, you never got asked by Mr Khan to wear this?" Zalama asked, tilting his head.
Logically speaking, if Kahn had a preference, shouldn't his wives have known about it?
However…
Vados, Bulma, and 18 shook their heads in unison.
Nope.
Not a clue.
The three exchanged glances before silently making a decision in their hearts.
Meanwhile, on the First Floor
After hearing why Kahn had chosen his purple-gold, Anubis-style outfit, Gine couldn't help but beam with pride.
Her son had far exceeded her expectations.
Back then, low-class warriors like Kahn were destined to be sent to the front lines, fighting and dying for the Saiyan race. But fate had taken a different turn when Planet Vegeta was destroyed.
It was something Gine had never seen coming.
"Mom, let's not dwell on the past. There's something I need to talk to Dad about."
"Alright, you two go ahead. I'll go check on Bulma and the others."
With that, Gine got up and headed upstairs.
Once she was gone, Kahn turned to Bardock.
"Dad, do you remember Planet Cereal?"
"Cereal, huh…?"
Bardock furrowed his brow, recalling the distant past.
"Yeah, I remember. Back when we were under Frieza's army, we did invade that planet."
That incident had left a deep impression on Bardock. Otherwise, he wouldn't have remembered it at all—he had conquered too many planets over the years.
"When we invaded, I saved a mother and her child… but I couldn't protect the mother. She was killed by those damn Heeters."
Bardock's voice was calm, but a hint of regret lingered in his tone.
He had tried.
He could have saved both of them.
But in the end, things hadn't gone the way he had hoped.
Then, Bardock looked at Kahn with a puzzled expression.
"Why are you asking about Cereal?"
If he remembered correctly, Kahn had been just a toddler at the time—still in the incubation pod.
Kahn smirked.
"Before I brought you back to life, I traveled back in time—over forty years ago—to Planet Cereal. I saw everything happen with my own eyes."
He paused before adding, "I also heard the wish you made to Toronbo back then."
Bardock's lips curled into a small, knowing smile.
"So… my wish really did come true, huh?"
Kahn nodded.
After Planet Vegeta's destruction, he, Kakarot, and even Raditz had managed to grow up.
Even if Raditz later threw his life away.
"What about the boy I saved? Have you gone to see him?" Bardock asked.
Kahn shook his head.
"Not yet."
"If he's still alive, he should be about your age now," Bardock murmured, his expression thoughtful.
"Yeah. If we do meet, there's a good chance he'll hate you—and all Saiyans—for what happened."
Bardock sighed.
He had thought about that possibility.
After all, knowing how the Heeters operated, they would have twisted the truth, blaming everything on the Saiyans while covering up their own sins.
Still…
"He has every reason to hate us," Bardock admitted. "It was the Saiyans who destroyed his home."
His expression darkened.
"If he's still alive, I want to apologize. I couldn't save his mother… and that's something I've regretted for a long time."
Kahn studied his father for a moment before nodding.
"In that case, let's go to Cereal."
Bardock gave no objections.
It wasn't just Granolah he wanted to see.
There was also an old Namekian, Monaito.
If not for the wish Bardock made to Toronbo back then, Kahn and his brothers might not have survived to this day.
Upstairs, on the Second-Floor Platform
As Kahn and Bardock stepped onto the second-floor platform, the lively chatter instantly died down.
Kahn narrowed his eyes.
"What were you all just talking about?"
Vados, Bulma, and 18 exchanged guilty glances.
He was pretty sure he'd heard something about "JK uniforms" and "bunny girls" before they arrived…
"Ahem. Nothing important," Vados replied smoothly, without missing a beat.
Kahn didn't press further. He had more pressing matters to attend to.
Turning to Zalama, he said, "We're heading to Cereal."
"Understood, Master Kahn."
Zalama bid farewell to Vados and the others before standing up.
Hearing Kahn's destination, and seeing Bardock beside him, Vados quickly figured out their reason for going.
"Mom, I'll be back soon," Kahn said.
"Alright, take care," Gine replied with a warm smile.
Kahn glanced at Zalama.
"Let's go."
Zalama raised his hand, summoning a swirling, multicolored vortex in the air.
Then, under the watchful eyes of Vados and the others, Kahn, Bardock, and Zalama stepped through the portal.
Planet Cereal
Over forty years ago, this planet had been home to the Cerealians.
But now?
It belonged to the Sugarians.
After the Saiyans wiped out the native Cerealians, the Heeters had swooped in, terraformed the planet, and sold it to the highest bidder.
Yet, despite everything, Monaito and Granolah had survived.
They had taken refuge in the mountains, keeping their distance from the city and its new inhabitants.
Near Monaito's Home
Above a small house nestled in the mountains, a space vortex appeared.
Kahn, Bardock, and Zalama emerged, descending toward the ground.
Bardock gazed at the city in the distance, now encased in a shimmering energy barrier.
"This place has changed a lot…" he muttered. "They must've paid a fortune for it."
"Yeah. The people living here now are called Sugarians," Kahn confirmed.
Bardock sighed.
"Come on. Let's go see Monaito."
The three of them landed just outside the small house.
Inside, Monaito—now over five hundred years old—lay in his chair, watching a Sugarians' TV program, whiling away his old age.
Unaware of the visitors outside his door.
