Dragon Ball:Vados is my Wife

Chapter 138: Chapter 138: Granolah

Kahn, Bardock, and Zalama walked into Monaito's room together. Regarding the arrival of the three uninvited guests, Monaito sat upright and asked, "Who are you…?"

"Monaito, it's surprising that you're still alive," Bardock spoke first.

Monaito had already been quite old more than forty years ago, yet after all these years, he looked only slightly older than before.

"You... You are..."

"Mr. Bardock?!"

Staring intently at Bardock's face and the cross-shaped scar on it, Monaito froze on the spot.

He couldn't believe Bardock was still alive!

Monaito had long heard the news that Planet Vegeta was destroyed by a meteorite and that the Saiyans had been wiped out.

He had assumed Bardock perished along with the rest of them.

But to see him standing before him after more than forty years—Monaito could hardly believe his own eyes.

Bardock nodded, confirming Monaito's doubts.

He was not mistaken—the person in front of him was indeed Bardock!

"Mr. Bardock, I heard Planet Vegeta was destroyed by a meteorite impact… What really happened?"

Although Monaito was certain it was Bardock, he still couldn't help but ask.

"Meteor strike? Is that the excuse Frieza gave?"

Bardock frowned before briefly explaining the truth about what had happened and his resurrection.

"So that's what really happened… But why did Frieza want to exterminate the Saiyans?" Monaito asked.

"None of that matters anymore," Bardock shook his head, unwilling to dwell on the past. It no longer held any significance.

Then, Bardock introduced Kahn to Monaito.

Monaito stood up, shook hands with Kahn, and said with a modest smile, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Kahn. My name is Monaito."

Kahn nodded in acknowledgment.

After a moment, Monaito asked, "Mr. Kahn, how did you bring Bardock back to life? Did you use the Dragon Balls from another Namekian?"

Porunga, the Eternal Dragon of New Namek, only has three wishes, and the Namekian Dragon Balls have always been under his people's protection. So Monaito assumed Kahn had used Dragon Balls from another Namekian-created set.

"No, I used the Super Dragon Balls," Kahn corrected.

"Super Dragon Balls?"

Monaito was taken aback. This was the first time he had ever heard of such a thing.

Kahn explained, "The dragon summoned by the Super Dragon Balls is far superior to the ones created by you Namekians. And the creator of the Super Dragon Balls is Miss Zalama, right here."

"In fact, if you think about it, she's the true originator of Dragon Balls. You Namekians simply derived your own version based on hers."

Hearing this, Monaito was beyond shocked.

His aged face, full of years of wisdom and experience, was now frozen in disbelief as he stared at Zalama.

The originator of Dragon Balls… turned out to be this beautiful woman who seemed completely unassuming?

Finally, Zalama, who had remained silent until now, spoke up.

"For mortals to take inspiration from the Super Dragon Balls and create a lesser version… I suppose it shows that Namekians do have a certain level of talent," she remarked.

High EQ: "A smaller version."

Low EQ: "An inferior copy."

Though the Namekians had essentially made a downgraded version of the Super Dragon Balls, the fact that they could do so at all meant they possessed unique abilities other races lacked.

That, at the very least, was commendable.

"Monaito, how is that child doing now?"

Rather than dwelling on the Dragon Balls, Bardock shifted the topic to Granolah.

Monaito snapped out of his daze. "You mean Granolah? He's still alive, but… he's working for the Heeters now."

Speaking of this, Monaito couldn't help but sigh.

He explained, "I had no other choice. If Granolah had learned the truth back then, he would have sought revenge against the Heeters, and they would have killed him."

"So, to keep Granolah alive, I had to hide the truth from him."

Indeed.

Right now, Granolah believed that the Saiyans, under Frieza's army, had wiped out his people.

He also thought his mother, Muezli, had been killed by the Saiyans.

But in reality, Muezli was murdered by the Heeters' leader, Elec.

Just as Monaito finished speaking, the corner of Kahn's mouth curled into a playful smirk.

"Well… the truth may not stay hidden much longer."

"What?"

Monaito looked up suddenly, confused by Kahn's words.

Boom!

At that moment, the door suddenly burst open.

Monaito turned toward the noise in alarm, only to see Granolah standing in the doorway.

The money pouch he had been holding just moments ago had fallen to the ground.

Granolah's pupils widened, his sharp features frozen in shock and disbelief!

---

Granolah snapped out of his daze, and a surge of hatred flooded his mind.

"Saiyans! You're still alive?! I'll kill you with my own hands!"

Right now, Granolah didn't care about the truth of the past.

He just wanted to destroy the two Saiyans standing before him.

"Granolah, calm down! These Saiyans don't seem hostile—why not listen to your grandfather first?"

Just as Granolah was about to attack, Oatmeel hurriedly tried to reason with him.

But Granolah was blinded by hatred.

There was no reasoning with him.

Without hesitation—

Granolah charged at Kahn and Bardock in a fury!

"Granolah, stop!"

Monaito's eyes widened in horror.

Boom!

With a fist filled with burning rage, Granolah launched a punch toward Kahn's back.

At the last moment, Kahn suddenly turned around.

And at that very instant—

Granolah's entire body froze!

His fist, which had been mere inches away from striking Kahn's face, came to an abrupt halt.

His eyes widened in terror.

The man before him hadn't even lifted a finger—yet Granolah's body refused to move!

This fear…

It came from deep within his soul.

A primal, overwhelming terror that completely paralyzed him!

"Nani?!"

Granolah was beyond shocked!

Kahn simply placed his hands behind his back and blinked indifferently.

"My advice? If you don't want to vanish, you'd better calm down and listen to your grandfather."

Thud!

The moment Kahn finished speaking, Granolah's body could no longer withstand the crushing pressure and fear emanating from him.

He collapsed to the ground on the spot.

"Granolah!"

Monaito rushed forward to support him, his voice filled with guilt.

"Granolah, I'm sorry for keeping the truth from you. But listen… the man before you, Bardock—he's the one who saved you back then!"

"Wh-What?!"

Granolah's mind reeled.

His eyes widened in disbelief.

"Grandpa… What are you talking about?! Weren't the Saiyans the ones who killed my mother?!"
