Chapter 53: Behind the door

Reeva's hand reaches out for the door and pushes it open. The stone door slides open revealing a strange sight inside. A persons sit in the middle of a circular room. Many chains tie him down, making him almost unmovable. The wall of fire appears at the edge of the circle. It dances and flickers generating an unbearable amount of heat. Reeva looked inside in surprise, he had been tricked. There was no happiness in here, the only thing he could see was the golden color of the sun god. The sunn belief. That priest has tricked him into opening the door. He didn't like it much. Reeva turns his head to find that the priest is charging at him. "Get in, demon!" Plutus uses the last of his willpower to push the monster inside and close the door. Reeva flew inside, the kick could not do any damage to him but it could still push his body. The priest quickly closed the door after Reeva got inside. Traping this smilling demon. Reeva smiled in repose, he used his hand to try to open the door but it was no use. The door didn't bulge anymore. He exerted more force, but nothing could move the door. "What is this?" His smile is fading a little. When he became a vessel he could feel that his body was many times more powerful than a regular person but this door didn't move when he exerted force. He uses his yellow eyes to look further into the door and finds out that it is locked by The sun god's mystic force. "HAhahah Priest, do you think you could lock me in with this?" Reeva exerts a little bit of his Raw mystic force. Trying to break now mystic with another. The yellow mist flows out from his body, ready to destroy the mystic force in the door. But after it seeps out of his body it also seeps into the floor. "What?" Reeva realized what was going on and his happiness was reducing. When he used the power, the floor was draining his happiness. The room was draining his happiness. "No! My happiness" He screams and slams his hand on the door. However, he has no hope of destroying the door. His mystic power kept draining just before his punch could hit the door. Slam after slam after slam, every time his hand slams the door, it pains his arm more and more as the mystic power leaves him. His mystic force is leaving his body, the heat that was nonconsequential for him before is now making his body tired. As a last desperate attempt, he gathered the last of his energy and punched the door. Bam! It dents the door, but all of his mystic force dissipates. Now Reeva could feel the heat of the room, his skin felt slightly burnt and his sweat visibly dripping from his face. He came back to his senses. That is... Certainly, an experience to have. His whole being is pulled by emotion and he acts solely upon happiness. Being controlled and moved by raw mystic force and his belief. And despite being super happy, Reeva couldn't really say he was happy with the experience. It felt like he was a slave to the emotion. He could control it sure, but he also acted upon it without any exception. If he thought he would be happy if he killed Plutus he would do it without hesitation. With great power comes great monstrosity. But he also gains something from this experience. His ruined divinity circle changed. Normally it would take up an invisible space inside his body but now it's physically lodged inside his body. What he means is that there's a hoop that's stuck inside his body. a Yellow and crude circular hoop stuck behind his heart and lungs. He doesn't even need to do cold detection to see that's it in his body. He doesn't know what it is and decides to leave it be. Since it didn't do him any harm yet. And he also doesn't have any mystic power left to experiment with. What he needs right now is to escape this place. The circular room with fire and the floor that absorbs mystic power. He looks around the room to find a possible escape route. Reeva couldn't help but marvel at the architecture of the room, it was a far cry from the old run-down prison that he had seen before. With eight pillars holding the ceiling in place. If it wasn't named the torture chamber he would assume that it's a nice lobby. There is also a circular fire that constantly generates heat with no smoke. It was the same fire that burned down Reed. And it's burning against the wall of the room. At the center of it all, is a grey robe man that he's seen earlier. Now chained up and unconscious. Reeva approaches the guy to get a closer look. The man looked like he was in the process of screaming, his mouth wide open and his eyes rolled back. He likely went unconscious before he could start screaming. If it wasn't for his light breathing Reeva would think that he was looking at a corpse. He turns his head away to look at the floor, as he comes to his senses he remembers that the floor saps his power off of him. He needs to know how does it do that. The floor was carved in a symmetrical way, a line split in the middle where the grey robe man sat. The pattern then sprouts from the center weaving itself in and out, shaping up a pattern of massive flame that encircles the center. This is the torture chamber? He read about it in the novel, priest would rid themself of their sin here. Making their belief in the sun god pure and resolute. He always wonders how that worked, but he never imagined it would drain mystic force out. If he has to guess, the floor would only drain other mystic forces other than the sun god. Otherwise, every priest who uses this contraption would end up a husk every time. Luckily Reeva is already a husk. However, the person in the center is not as lucky as he is. Judging from how he was shouting about the other god. He must have some kind of mystic force with him. Forcefully pulling a large amount of mystic from the body could leave a person in shock, memory loss, or unconscious. From the state the grey robe man was in, he likely had a significant amount.
