Extra's Perfect Ending
Chapter 54: Grey robe guy
Reeva has a question that has been on his mind since he came to his senses. Where did the mystic force go? You could not normally see mystic force other than your own.
How would one capture such a thing, let alone drain it from other people if you don't even know what it looks like or what it feels?
In the Book, there are ways to glean into other people's mystic force. But Reeva has no way to access it. It's not that common, at least not enough to have in every church. Or every one of them would be absolutely using it to suppress any mystic user and be the sole superpower among the mystic.
Something is different here.
He just needs to find out what it is. He looks around the room while sweating buckets. He couldn't find anything noteworthy, the fire that surrounded the room and the pillar didn't have anything special in them. Other than the fire that is most likely mystic force.
The only thing left for him was the floor itself and the man in the middle.
He decides to check out the grey robe guy first. The man in the middle felt important to this contraption he was in. His condition is not the best he could have hoped for. The guy is barely alive, suffering from the heat inside the chamber.
Reeva hope he wasn't next in the line
He places his hand on the grey robe man's shoulder. A cold feeling spreads inside the man, As Reeva tries to navigate through the other person's body. It's hard, the other body has slight resistance to his invasion and he has to feel his way through the body like he is walking in the dark with a little torch.
However, it didn't take that long for Reeva to check his condition. From the look of it, The grey robe man never had a circle of divinity. Only a trace of some white mystic force was left behind, a tiny bit that couldn't even do anything.
It must have been zapped out of him by the floor... But after checking The grey robe man's condition he notices something. The grey robe man hasn't become a husk yet, he still has a bit of Mystic force left, albeit pretty small.
Reeva quickly checks his body condition again and his eyes widen.
This is not right
He didn't have any mystic power with him. In theory, he shouldn't be able to think right now. The rebound from losing all his mystic power at once should keep him unconscious. But he is fine despite all of that. The only explanation he could give to himself was that the yellow crude circle that formed inside his body was actually some kind of mystic force.
That would somewhat explain his situation.
But there is still no concrete answer, he needs more evidence. The coldness touched the crude circle and tried to move it but it wouldn't budge, he tried to influence it like the way he used yellow mist but it didn't do anything.
Fine I give up
He decides to move on for now. The answer might come up if he looks at the thing below him. Earlier when he was searching inside the grey robe man he found something interesting. The flow of the white mythic force is falling down.
Without the grey robe man being conscious, this means that something is pulling it down like his yellow mist was. He wants to find out what it is so badly but, he can't just use the cold feeling on the ground. It doesn't work with objects.
Or is it?
He never tried before since the novel and even Hilda said that it was impossible. He places his hand on the ground and exerts his coldness.
Nothing
He wasn't disappointed. It was worth a try, now the only thing that he could use is the scrap of the white mystic from the grey robe man. He smiled, at least he had something to do amidst the hot temperature.
Despite it hurting his skin, it never really burned him. It felt like it was just an illusion... Is it even real? Reeva carefully looked at the flickering fire, trying to discern its origin. But he got a feeling that it was real.
No other reason is needed for this. Often time his feelings would tell him the right answer, recklessly fooling around will just get you killed. Like what he was doing now. The only difference is that the fire might be instant death instead of struggling to survive.
Reeva smile
The only place left to gain anything is the grey robe man. Reeva sighed, he really didn't want to do this but he had no other option. He needs to search for the guy. He took a minute to prepare himself then he started the search.
The guy's robe is tied down by the gains, which sprout from the ground. Reeva didn't know how to release the chain so he could only awkwardly feel his way around the grey robe man's body trying to find something.
After some time and many clothes touching later, he found something. An amulet, a silver locket amulet in the shape of the sun.
His curiosity pique and he pops it open. Inside was a picture of 3 individuals. 2 man one woman. They are posing for the picture with the girl sitting on the chair in the middle of the picture while the other two guys stand behind her.
One of the guys Reeva could easily identify as the owner of this locket. A middle-aged man wearing a grey robe. The other two he got no idea who they were. The woman was smiling at the camera. Her hair color couldn't be determined since it was a black-and-white photo but it was pretty dark, likely black hair. Her face is slightly oval, making her look rather motherly.
The last guy, Reeva had the hardest time fingering out his feature because it had been scratched off by using coins. The only part that Reeva could see is the part where he wears a merchant cloth.
Reeva scratched his head, didn't know what to make of this.
