Extra's Perfect Ending
Chapter 56: Escape
Reeva could see how throwing him in the place would limit his ability to escape. The original effect of this place is to dissipate any mystic force that forms inside. Making it hard for Reeva to use happiness.
Then they use his happiness to create more of the white mystic slate. That led Reeva to next next question, what were they planning to use this for? But, as soon as that question came to mind, he could already see the answer.
Control over other mystics.
If this project is ever complete, white slate slate could be turned into anything. A sword, an arrow, or even worse a bullet. Reeva could imagine the power the church would have when they could disable the opposing mystic in a second.
Just one bullet and all the mystic power would be turned into this white mystic force. The thought of it sent a shiver down Reeva's spine. Especially when he already sees the consequence of such action.
He doesn't want to release this abomination of a belief among the people. But he doesn't mind keeping it for himself. It would be a get-out-of-jail-free card when he needs it the most.
Now that he got all the answers, he was ready to leave. The white late could nullify the mystic door lock then he could open it. The only thing he needs to worry about is the people outside.
He still needs to face at least 1 knight and Plutus. He wasn't sure about Plutus's status but the knight he shot was definitely incapacitated. As for Plutus, he didn't know whether the last wave of Happiness could wear the guy down or not.
Luckily he had some backup in mind. He had a pistol reload kit that would reload the pistol. It's a little cumbersome to carry around but it's better than having 2 useless hunks of metal that he could shoot.
After loading the gunpowder, he decides to put a normal shot in. Putting the white slate shot would certainly knock out any Mystic there is but, he doesn't want to make them a husk.
The preparation is done. He had a gun for a last resort and a white slate for dealing with a mystic. He just needs to get up close and personal with the mystic and press the white late on their body, just enough so that the mystic doesn't become a husk.
Lastly, he looked at his phone, other than the 2 apps that he got, he also had a basic function of a phone. It has a clock.
11:24
He enters the church around 5 p.m. which means he is stuck in this chamber for around 4-5 hours accounting for the time he spent searching for Reeds and looking around the prison. If Plutus still had energy left after confronting him then all the church people would have arrived by now but if not, he would have had an easy time out since he couldn't have called more priests.
However, the last assurance he has is the demon transformation. He just needed to wait an extra 30 minutes before he could get out. To see if the phone apps would reset at midnight or if would it need to reset at the time of use.
20-minute pass
The clock ran down as Reeva's body sweat. By now the priest's robe is looking like he was taking a shower. It felt like a sauna if they were to use actual fire in the room. Kind of relaxing but also kind of dangerous.
He watches as minutes pass by and the clock finally arrives at midnight. Reeva taps the app to see if it functions. [Expiriment]
Would you like to start?
-Yes
-No
It works
That's another card added to his deck. Now with all the right time and circumstance, he could finally leave this place. Reeva inhaled the hot air and prepared himself. After a bit of hesitation, he finally pressed the white slate on the door.
Reeva couldn't see it but, he could feel that the door became less and less, mystical. He exerts some force then the door slides open. Reeva could only open the door a little bit to survey the surroundings.
Nothing there, the young priest and the knight are simply not there. Reeva looked around carefully but he couldn't find anything. The atmosphere felt off but he needed to take this chance to leave this place.
He walked down the hallway and turned right, the prison was right before him. But it's a little darker than daytime. The church dims the light every night so making his way down the prison hallway without anyone noticing I easier than before.
But, at the front of the hallway, there's still a guard standing there like a stone statue. The bar door right beside them looks tightly locked. A simple plan came to his mind, an easy and quick plan.
He shot the lock then he ran out. The guard is not a priest, if he just disappeared into the city, it would be hard for them to catch him again. After thinking to this point he didn't need more plans. The other will simply not be as effective.
Bang!
A shot rang out from behind the two guards. Their reaction speed is quite good, seeing that the moment he fires the hot they turn around. however, one of them got hit by a piece of the lock.
"What the..."
Before any of them could speak, Reeva had already run past them onto the stairs. One of the guards leaves his post and follows him upward. Stairs continue to spiral up. The further up the stairs the less likely that the guard would follow him.
They still have their duty to fulfill and judging from the guard's reluctance to leave their post even when he reported them with a gun, he had to assume that there were some rules.
It's definitely in the contract somewhere to defend this prison at all costs. They didn't get paid to put people in jail. He rushes up the stairs.
