Extra's Perfect Ending
Chapter 74: To catch a heretic
Plutus already braced himself for the day. He tried his best but wasn't able to stop the demon. It's all because he was too weak and his faith was wavering. He would go down in the history book as a traitor. Another cautious tale to not to trust a demon.
But that moment never came. The demon left and never did anything. He fully expected it to turn the city into its territory. Expect it to turn the city into a living hell. But his expectation was never met. Instead, he and the priests at the church live to see another day.
His eyes bagged from staying up all night. The party waited for the demon to terrorize the city and part because he was keeping Theodore's life from slipping away. He uses all his mystic power and pays the price to heal the bald priest back to a stable condition.
More than this he would need to burn part of his body, which Plutus could never bring himself to do. Not because he wasn't devoted enough but because it would have the same effect if Theodore used another method that was available at church. He would be trading his arm for something the church could provide Theodore.
Maybe he lacks faith.
He wasn't sure.
However, the thing he was sure of was the fact that when the sun rose, the city was still ok. The demon really didn't do anything.
It shatters the perception of the demon that Plutus has until this point. The demon actually keeps its word, he has never seen such a thing before.
As the sunrise the priest that was affected by the demon started to wake up from their bliss. Alongside that, the priest that outside, their reaction is quite amusing to behold.

Reeva arrives at a tavern. He has seen this one around town for a while now he never gets the chance to visit. It's a normal tavern that still has a medieval aesthetic to it. Supposedly it has been open for hundreds of years pass down through generations of people.
He has shown this place simply because it's convenient for him to go. He couldn't choose a better place to transfer the money since he was in a hurry.
Theia and Reeva walk through the door to find a parsley populate. They arrive at 4 in the evening, it's almost time for people to get off work. but not as crowded. The meeting time is not set and stone. Reeva just told the homeless man to come in the evening to the table near the window.
He gazes around the traven and sure enough there he is, a homeless man sitting beside the window, letting the yellow sun hit him in the face. No one would torture themselves with the evening sun unless they had a motive.
Like getting two stac from him.
However, Reeva squints at the situation. According to Theia and Hilda, the church uses burners to divine answers, and this man is wanted. Reeva isn't sure about anyone else, but if he were wanted by the church, he wouldn't be sitting idly at their meeting place.
The homeless man could be the fool of the century, going about his business unaware that he was being pursued, or more likely, he had already been apprehended and revealed this information. Reeva was familiar with this type of situation, having been used as bait before.
Upon recognizing the obvious trap, Reeva couldn't help but smile.
He then turned his attention to the bartender, who was serving some customers. Reeva and Theia walked over and sat down.
"Do you have a recommendation?" Reeva asked.
The bartender looked at Reeva and Theia with a confused expression. "I don't think you're of age yet."
While he might want to make a sale, serving alcohol to minors is frowned upon by the church. Normally, he would be more lenient with these rules, but today is a special day.
"I've drunk before, couldn't you give me just a little?"
"No can do" The bartender still refused firmly.
Here's a revised version of your text:
Reeva smiled, he had an idea of what he could do. The bartender's reaction seemed a bit stiff in his opinion, and if the homeless man sitting by the window hadn't confirmed it, the bartender certainly did.
It was time to test out his new theory about his power. Reeva whispered his instructions to Theia, and she followed them. After hearing what Reeva had in mind, Theia couldn't help but smile as she walked out of the bar.
"Is there really no chance?" Reeva asked.
"Nope," The bartender replied.
He didn't push the matter further, as his focus had now shifted. A little while later, a man entered and sat two chairs away from him. He looked like just another citizen of Tumidus—a sailor looking for a drink after work.
The man ordered some drinks and exchanged words with the bartender, pointing to the homeless man sitting by the window. The bartender received a bag of money from the man, went to the back of the shop, and returned with a drink, which he then delivered to the homeless man.
At that moment, Reeva noticed a yellow mist seeping through certain individuals. A smirk crept onto his face.
Why would someone be happy when a homeless man receives a gift?
Either they feel good about such acts, or they're a group of priests waiting to ambush him, using the homeless man as bait. The latter seemed more likely, as that group of people was now getting up and walking over to the man who had given the money to the bartender.
Reeva felt satisfied. Upon divination, the sailor would be cleared, and his connection to the real culprit would be minimal. Fellow sailors would vouch for him, and they would all get out without a problem. The only one in real trouble was the homeless man, who had no one to bail him out.
Maybe he ought to help the guy.
But not now.
Now was the time to leave this place.
