Chapter 25: Dark Memories of Gilgamesh 6
In an endless desert, a young man named Gilgamesh and a colossal Golem were engaged in an epic battle. The Golem, a gigantic creature nearly three hundred meters tall, slammed its massive fist into the ground with fury. The impact flattened an area spanning a thousand meters. Enormous rocks were hurled in all directions, and small sandstorms formed as a result of the blow. The Golem, like a natural disaster, shook the earth to its core. It lifted a massive boulder from the ground and hurled it with all its might toward Gilgamesh.
Gilgamesh, with agility and speed beyond imagination, easily evaded the Golem's strike. With a swift, supersonic movement, he charged toward the Golem. With unparalleled skill, he climbed onto the Golem's massive body and, with his spear that slithered like a venomous serpent, severed the Golem's right arm from its body. The Golem's enormous arm fell to the ground with a thunderous crash, spreading thick dust into the air. The Golem, with eyes filled with rage and despair, roared and attempted to strike Gilgamesh with its remaining arm, but Gilgamesh swiftly stepped onto the Golem's head and distanced himself.
The Golem, with eyes full of pain and fury, stared at Gilgamesh. Suddenly, a burning golden light emanated from Gilgamesh's spear. A magical and immense beam, like a flame that annihilates everything in its path, shot toward the Golem. The beam struck the Golem's body, and a massive mushroom cloud formed in the sky. A tremendous explosion engulfed an area of a thousand meters, and the intense heat of the beam turned the desert sand into glass. The area was so scorching that any ordinary human would have burned to death instantly.
Gilgamesh, with cold, indifferent red eyes, stared at the lifeless body of the Golem. He was no longer that young, immature boy. Ten years had passed since he entered the tower, and now he stood on the 99th floor. Over these years, he had survived hundreds of life-and-death battles. He had fought various monsters such as orcs, Cerberus, hydras, dark elves, giants, spirits, demons, trolls, yetis, kobolds, walking dead, and zombies. He had tapped into his full potential as a demigod, and divine blood flowed through his veins. Now, he resembled a god more than a human.
Shikama Doji, the creator of this tower, had created a powerful monster, but Gilgamesh was now far beyond that. He had mastered most weapons and could even easily defeat his original self. He was dozens of times stronger than his original version. Over the years, Gilgamesh had faced death numerous times and had survived each encounter. Now, he was even indifferent to death. His fighting style involved identifying the weaknesses of his enemies using the "All-Knowing Star" and ending battles swiftly. He had developed this style after a grueling battle with the Giant King on the 57th floor. That battle had lasted three days, and Gilgamesh had fought the Giant King without rest until he finally defeated him.
Gilgamesh shook his spear and glanced at the simple armor that only covered his chest. A red cloak hung from his shoulders, and his long hair reached his waist. He wore no shoes and was barefoot. He had acquired these items during his journey through various floors. His spear was a "Noble Phantasm" of rank A+++, which he had obtained on one of the floors.
Now, only one floors remained, and finally, this cursed trial would come to an end. A golden light enveloped Gilgamesh, and he was summoned to the rest room. In a white, lifeless room, Gilgamesh leaned against the wall and stared at the ceiling. He now understood the purpose of these trials, but he still hated Shikama Doji. That devilish bastard had the appearance of an angel but was a ruthless demon at heart. Tomorrow, it would be time for the 100th floor. Finally, this cursed tower would end. Gilgamesh clenched his fist and stared at the white ceiling, waiting for the moment when everything would come to an end.
