Fate: The Rise of Shikama Douji

Chapter 27: Dark Memories of Gilgamesh 8

Shikama Doji and Gilgamesh entered a region filled with colorful and fantastical flowers. This was the world of "Dream," a place where time and space flowed in a strange and unfamiliar manner. Gilgamesh looked around with impatience. During his imprisonment in the tower, he had seen many things. He had spent ten years in the tower, but only five years had passed in the outside world. The passage of time in the tower differed from that of the outside world, and this difference sometimes troubled Gilgamesh's mind.

Shikama Doji summoned his scythe and stared at Gilgamesh with a mysterious smile. "Well, now I will officially begin your training. Over the course of a year, I will teach you about martial arts and magic." Shikama Doji spoke calmly, but his gaze was filled with power and confidence.

Gilgamesh asked in surprise, "You know martial arts?"

Shikama Doji replied with his usual smile, "Yes, I learned it in my spare time and practiced until I reached the peak."

Gilgamesh said with a hint of pride, "Don't underestimate me. I've grown a lot during this time. I'm not that helpless child anymore."

Shikama Doji simply smiled, but this smile angered Gilgamesh. In an instant, Gilgamesh attacked Shikama Doji at supersonic speed. The ground beneath his feet was destroyed due to his speed, creating a massive crater.

But the outcome of this attack was not what Gilgamesh had expected. With a bruised and battered body, he stared at the artificial sun of the "Dream" world. He was now not only physically injured but also spiritually wounded. He knew that defeating Shikama Doji was impossible, but he at least thought he could fight him for a while. However, he was defeated in less than 30 seconds, without even understanding how. Now he believed that Shikama Doji was absolutely invincible. With a blackened eye, he looked at Shikama Doji, who was laughing at him with his usual smile. Gilgamesh cursed this monster in his heart.

Time passed, and Shikama Doji continued to train Gilgamesh in martial arts and magic. Unfortunately, Gilgamesh did not have much talent in magic, and Shikama Doji could only teach him his golden runes. But in martial arts, Gilgamesh showed extraordinary talent. With the experience of thousands of battles, he quickly progressed under Shikama Doji's training and reached a terrifying level of power.

One day, Shikama Doji took Gilgamesh to a strange room. When he opened the door, Gilgamesh was met with an astonishing sight: thousands of high-ranking Noble Phantasms, which even gods would do anything to obtain, were scattered around the room like ordinary weapons. Shikama Doji said with a gentle smile, "Your training is complete. This is your reward for your hard work."

Gilgamesh stepped forward in surprise and raised his hand. Suddenly, all the Noble Phantasms turned into golden light and entered the Gate of Babylon. Shikama Doji then created a purple and black crystal and threw it towards Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh caught the crystal and stared at Shikama Doji with curiosity. He wanted to know what this crystal was.

Shikama Doji explained, "This crystal contains a part of my power. It can fulfill small and large wishes, whether it's reviving the dead, bending time and space, or even distorting the laws of the world. But it can only fulfill one wish. So be careful how you use it."

Gilgamesh's eyes widened in surprise. Why was this devil giving him such a thing? What was his goal? Shikama Doji raised his hand, and a portal formed in front of them. "This portal leads to the real world. This is our farewell, my dear student. I hope you always succeed."

Gilgamesh replied with pride, "Don't worry. I am Gilgamesh. I always succeed." But at that moment, a feeling surged within him. Shikama Doji watched as Gilgamesh passed through the portal and then fell into thought.

"Well, now there's only one thing left. After this, I will leave this continent. I must go and strengthen Enkidu. Gilgamesh has become dozens of times stronger than his original version. So Enkidu needs to become stronger, otherwise the friendship between Gilgamesh and Enkidu will never happen, and my beloved student will always be alone." Shikama Doji smiled gently, and the space in front of him shattered. He entered a new space.

In a vast forest filled with mythical creatures and rare species, Shikama Doji appeared. The animals, upon seeing him, approached him, and a kind of joy and respect could be seen in their eyes. This joy was the joy of a creation meeting its creator. Shikama Doji reached a river and saw a doll made of clay and flowers. The doll neither attacked nor fled upon seeing him. It simply stood there.

Shikama Doji placed his hand on the doll's head and began to strengthen it. The doll's existence quickly changed, and its abilities became dozens of times stronger, to the point where it could be compared to Gilgamesh. Shikama Doji removed his hand from the doll's head and smiled. "Now Enkidu has power comparable to Gilgamesh, and the events will proceed almost like the original version."

A golden light shone from Shikama Doji's eyes, as if he was seeing distant futures. He stared at the sun and said to himself, "Now it's time to meet my second beloved student."
