Chapter 73: Chapter 71: Youngest Professor In History...

Platform 9¾…

The Evans family stood in silent awe, their eyes wide as they took in the extraordinary sight before them.

The bustling platform was filled with young witches and wizards, their voices mixing with the occasional hoot of an owl.

Students bid tearful goodbyes to their families, carts piled high with trunks, cauldrons, and caged pets.

The air hummed with excitement, a thrill of anticipation rippling through the crowd.

And towering over it all—

A magnificent scarlet steam engine stood waiting, its brass fixtures gleaming under the warm glow of hanging lanterns.

"Mom, is that the train Big Sis is going to travel on?"

Little Lily pointed at the grand locomotive, her voice brimming with curiosity.

Camellia and Jack exchanged glances, still trying to process what they were witnessing.

The atmosphere, the clothing, the magical elements—

It was as if they had stepped into a different era, as though they had traveled through time itself.

As they passed through the crowd, some witches and wizards nodded politely in their direction, while others frowned as if questioning their presence.

Swoosh~

With a swift motion, Leo Morningstar emerged through the solid brick wall of Platform 9¾, effortlessly passing through the Muggle-Repelling Barrier.

The Evans family, still standing in awe, looked around, taking in the unfamiliar world.

Nearby, a couple who had been walking past suddenly froze, their eyes widening in recognition the moment they saw Leo.

"It's him, isn't it?"

The witch whispered to her husband, who nodded before stepping forward with a wide, flattered smile.

"Mr. Morningstar... I never would have guessed I'd meet you here! I am Alfred Von Diago, and this is my wife, Fina Von Diago."

Alfred extended his hand, which Leo shook firmly, offering a polite nod toward Fina in acknowledgment.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Diago…"

Leo exchanged pleasantries, engaging in brief conversation.

Through their discussion, he learned that Alfred Von Diago was a Muggle-born wizard and a master of Arithmancy.

However, despite his expertise, the wizarding job market was limited—outside of Gringotts, there were few opportunities available to him beyond starting his own business.

His wife, Fina, hailed from the Lestrange family, though their marriage was one of love, not convenience.

The Lestranges had vehemently opposed their union, and Lord Gay Lestrange had banished Fina, stripping her of all inheritance rights.

Leo wasn't surprised by this revelation—after all, Gay Lestrange was one of the dark wizards he had personally eliminated when they attempted to rob his shop.

The Lestrange family had gone so far as to attempt to assassinate Alfred, Fina, and their newborn daughter.

However, by sheer luck, the couple had escaped—their sudden decision to travel to the U.S. in search of better work had saved their lives.

If it weren't for Fina's position as an Auror in the Department of Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, their lives would have been hell.

The Lestranges had even resorted to backhanded political maneuvering to make things difficult for Alfred.

When Alfred and Fina had read in the newspaper that Lord Gay Lestrange and his heirs had perished during a failed robbery attempt at Morningstar's potion shop, they had been shocked—then amused at the irony.

Their respect for Leo skyrocketed, and in their hearts, they felt indebted to him—unknowingly, he had rid them of their greatest enemy, securing their family's future.

Horn~

While they were chatting, a loud horn suddenly echoed across the platform.

The Hogwarts Express, its scarlet steam engine gleaming under the station lights, released a massive cloud of steam from its chimney.

The familiar sound signaled that the train was ready to depart.

After exchanging contact information with Alfred and Fina Von Diago, Leo turned back to the Evans family, who stood waiting for him.

The Hogwarts Express was a magnificent steam-powered locomotive, its rich red carriages stretching far along the platform.

Inside, the train featured numerous compartments, each lined with plush seats and large windows, offering breathtaking views of the English and Scottish countryside as it traveled to Hogwarts.

However, only students were allowed to board—parents were not permitted inside.

With reluctant expressions and bitter smiles, Jack and Camellia Evans bid farewell to their eldest daughter, Petunia.

"Mr. Morningstar, are you also going to Hogwarts?"

Jack Evans looked at Leo in confusion, noticing that he, too, was carrying a suitcase and boarding the train.

From what Leo had told them, only students were allowed on the Hogwarts Express.

Haha~

Leo let out a small chuckle, ruffling his hair as he turned to Jack.

"Mr. Evans, sorry for not telling you earlier—I'm this year's Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts."

"Excellent… now I can be relieved!"

Jack's eyes widened for a moment before his expression quickly shifted to relief.

Without hesitation, he grasped Leo's hands firmly, shaking them with gratitude.

"Professor Morningstar, please look after my daughter."

His voice carried the concern of a father sending his child into an unfamiliar world.

Although they had prepared for this day, Jack and Camellia couldn't shake off the nervousness of sending Petunia to a place filled with uncertainty.

The only wizards they had ever interacted with were Leo Morningstar and Professor Filius Flitwick, who had visited their home to explain Hogwarts to them.

But now, knowing that Leo—the very wizard responsible for turning their daughter from an ordinary human into a witch—would be at Hogwarts, their worries eased.

With teary eyes, Petunia hugged her parents one last time before stepping onto the train.

She made her way to a quiet, empty compartment, sliding the door shut behind her.

Meanwhile, Leo entered another empty compartment, just next to hers.

As the departure time approached, students hurried into compartments, filling the seats as they settled in for the journey ahead.

Horn~

With a loud, echoing blast, the Hogwarts Express pulled away from the station, its scarlet carriages moving steadily along the tracks.

The train cut through a landscape of lush greenery, the rhythmic clatter of wheels against the rails blending with the excited chatter of young witches and wizards.

In his private compartment, Leo sat engrossed in a book on Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Even though his system granted him vast magical knowledge, he still enjoyed reading, using it to pass the time.

The steady hum of the train and the flickering lanterns inside the compartment made for a peaceful atmosphere.

Knock~ Knock~

His quiet moment was interrupted by a knock at the door.

Looking up, Leo saw Petunia Evans standing at the entrance, looking slightly nervous.

Behind her stood two girls—one older, one younger—who looked like carbon copies of each other, save for subtle age differences.

Gulp~

Petunia swallowed, shifting slightly before speaking.

"Professor… did we disturb you?"

She hesitated, her voice carrying a mix of uncertainty and nervous excitement.

"No… what happened?"

Leo shook his head, offering a calm, reassuring smile.

"I just… I just wanted to prove to my friends that I know you."

Petunia's cheeks turned red as she explained, feeling slightly embarrassed.

The two girls, who were sisters, had been sharing a compartment with Petunia.

Their names were Killa (the older one) and Lilla (the younger one), and like Petunia, they were both Muggle-born witches.

When Petunia mentioned that she knew one of the professors, the sisters had doubted her, thinking she was exaggerating.

So, to prove her claim, she had brought them to Leo's compartment.

After a long journey, the Hogwarts Express finally arrived at Hogsmeade Station.

A reminder echoed through the train, instructing students to change into their school robes as they prepared to disembark.

As Leo exited the train, he was greeted by Professor Filius Flitwick, who welcomed him with his usual cheerful demeanor.

Without delay, Filius escorted him towards the Thestral-drawn carriages, which transported students—except for first-years—up to Hogwarts.

The first-years, as tradition dictated, would travel across the Black Lake in enchanted boats, a ritual honoring the Four Founders who established the first wizarding school centuries ago.

Taking his seat inside the carriage, with Filius beside him, Leo's curiosity was piqued as he examined the Thestrals pulling the carriages.

These creatures were a rare breed of winged horse, their skeletal bodies, reptilian faces, and bat-like, leathery wings giving them an eerie yet majestic presence.

Only those who had witnessed death firsthand could see them, a haunting reminder of the thin veil between life and death.

The carriages passed through the grand, wrought-iron gates, eventually stopping near the castle entrance.

Students piled out and made their way towards the Great Hall, their voices echoing with excitement.

Meanwhile, Argus Filch, the ever-grumpy caretaker, stood by the entrance, barking instructions at students, though most ignored him entirely.

Not wanting to linger, Filius led Leo through the corridors, guiding him towards the Great Hall, where the Welcoming Feast awaited.

Great Hall...

After half an hour, the Great Hall was filled with students from all four Houses, each seated at their respective tables.

The hall itself was immense, with high, vaulted ceilings that made the space feel even more grand and majestic.

Floating enchanted candles bathed the room in a soft, golden glow, while the ceiling above—enchanted to reflect the sky—showed the deepening hues of twilight.

The stone walls were lined with tall, arched windows, allowing the last remnants of daylight to filter in, casting intricate patterns across the polished floor.

The air buzzed with excited chatter as students exchanged stories about their summer holidays.

Occasionally, curious gazes turned toward Leo, the young and strikingly handsome man seated among the professors.

Thud!

The massive doors to the Great Hall swung open with a resounding boom, and in stepped Professor McGonagall, her expression sharp yet welcoming.

Behind her, a group of wide-eyed first-years followed, their faces a mixture of awe and nervous anticipation.

Some of them whispered anxiously to one another.

Rumors had spread that Hogwarts' entrance exam involved battling a mountain troll, and a few seemed downright terrified at the thought.

McGonagall, holding a rolled parchment, stopped at the front of the hall and turned to face the students.

"Before we begin the Sorting Ceremony, the Headmaster has a few words."

Immediately, the Great Hall fell silent, all eyes turning toward the towering figure of Albus Dumbledore.

With his signature twinkle in his eyes, Dumbledore rose from his seat, spreading his arms in a gesture of warmth.

"Welcome, welcome, one and all, to another year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!

To our returning students, I say: welcome home. And to our newest members of the Hogwarts family—our bright-eyed first-years—I extend my warmest greetings.

Tonight marks the beginning of a grand adventure—one that will challenge you, shape you, and, I daresay, delight you in ways you cannot yet imagine..."

His words carried through the hall, his voice steady yet full of energy.

As always, his speeches had an almost hypnotic effect, drawing in the attention of every student present.

For the next half hour, he continued, his enthusiasm never wavering.

Finally, as Dumbledore concluded his speech, he turned back toward the students.

"Now, before we begin the Sorting Ceremony, I would like to introduce our new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Mr. Leo Morningstar."

Dumbledore gestured toward Leo with a nod of approval.

"He is, without a doubt, one of the most talented individuals I have met in recent years."

A wave of murmurs spread across the hall.

The students, particularly the older ones, stared in shock.

Never before had they seen a Defense professor so young.

Some of the girls leaned toward each other, whispering about how Leo might just be the youngest professor in Hogwarts history.

Just as Leo was about to acknowledge the introduction, Dumbledore's glasses glinted mischievously as he turned toward him.

"However, Professor Morningstar, since you are not a Hogwarts alumnus, you must follow tradition and partake in the Sorting Ceremony before officially taking your position."

The hall fell into stunned silence, then erupted into excited whispers.

Leo raised a single brow, lips quirking into a slight smirk.

'So, even professors weren't exempt from the Sorting Hat's judgment, huh?'

As he stood, making his way toward the stool where the Sorting Hat awaited, every eye in the hall was now locked onto him—curious, expectant, and intrigued.
