As Lin Fan walked further into the Governor's Residence, he started to hear breathing sounds.

The breathing sounds came from a building where the main door had collapsed.

He went over and, with his strength, lifted the wall that had collapsed and blocked the entrance.

A loud sound erupted in the air when Lin Fan threw the wall to the side.

Dust and debris from the wall flew all over.

Lin Fan used his hand like a fan to wave away the dust as he squinted his eyes to see what was inside the building.

When the dust cleared, he could see three figures standing and some dead bodies inside.

One was Governor Lu, holding a broken chair and staring at the two people in front of him.

"Who do we have here? Let me guess, you are the one who stopped my plan?" Li Rong, who was standing in front of Governor Lu, said.

"Lady Saint, let me deal with him," the elder standing beside Li Rong requested.

Li Rong shook her head and smirked.

"No. I want him to witness how he has failed."

The next moment, Li Rong raised her hands in the air, and they glowed with a ghastly dark glow.

Ghosts flew out of her hands and into the sky.

Some of the ghosts went into the dead bodies that were lying around nearby.

The bodies started moving again.

They stood up with an unsteady gait.

They gave out a roar and lunged at Lin Fan.

Lin Fan quickly used his spear and thrust it at them.

The slicing wave sliced these undead into pieces.

But it didn't work as they continued to move and try to get closer to Lin Fan.

Some crawled toward him with only the upper half of their body.

When an undead grabbed his leg, Lin Fan used the Peach Wood Sword and plunged it into its head.

It did the trick as the Peach Wood Sword glowed red and dissipated the ghost that was inhabiting the body.

Lin Fan quickly took care of the other undead that were coming at him.

When he was done, Li Rong clapped and smirked at Lin Fan.

"I see that you have a way to deal with ghost cultivators, but the others aren't as lucky."

She said and gave a grin.

Screams and cries erupted in the air again.

All over the city, the dead bodies started to come to life and wreak havoc again.

Lin Fan held the Peach Wood Sword tightly and knew he had to finish the Lady Saint who was in front of him now.

The next moment, a familiar sound erupted in his mind.

Before he could react, he saw a red flash coming at him, and the next thing he felt was a blow to his chest.

He tumbled across the ground, and when he stopped, his chest had a depression in the shape of a palm.

His innards felt like they had been ripped open.

He coughed out blood due to the internal bleeding.

Lin Fan quickly used his Genesis Bloom ability and healed himself.

But a ghostly figure appeared from her back and lunged at Lin Fan.

Lin Fan had to leap back and slash at the ghost coming at him with the Peach Wood Sword.

The Peach Wood Sword sliced the ghost into two halves, and the ghost dissipated afterward.

The next moment, Li Rong turned around and stared at Lin Fan.

Finally, she got frustrated and gave out a loud scream.

Ghastly green flames came out from her body and burned the paper men.

The paper men dropped to the ground as they were burned into ashes by the flames.

The next thing she saw was Lin Fan coming up next to her.
