Chapter 23: Mondstadt's Scout Knight and the Wave Knight
Ling Feng's blind box shop had gained quite a reputation in Mondstadt. As adventurers from the city gradually visited, the shop's fame spread to the City of Winds. On this sunny day, the streets of Mondstadt were bustling with people, and the air was filled with the aroma of dandelion wine.
"I heard there's a new mysterious blind box shop from Liyue in Mondstadt, and you can get all sorts of incredible things from it," Amber said excitedly as she adjusted her Baron Bunny backpack, turning to Eula beside her.
Eula crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow slightly. "Amber, are you sure this isn't some kind of scam? Liyue merchants are known for their shrewdness."
"Ah, Eula, don't be so serious!" Amber chuckled, patting her shoulder. "I heard from Kaeya that he got an ability to summon a black dragon wave, and even Diluc was envious!"
Eula snorted lightly. "Kaeya's words are only half-trustworthy. But... since you're interested, I'll accompany you to take a look."
The two made their way through the gates of Mondstadt and walked along the Liyue trade route. Amber chattered away like a cheerful little bird, while Eula remained as calm as ever, occasionally responding with a few words.
**New Customers at the Blind Box Shop**
When they arrived at the blind box shop, Ling Feng was sitting behind the counter, flipping a Mora coin in his hand. Seeing the two knights from Mondstadt enter, he immediately put on his signature smile. "Welcome! Is this your first time here? Would you like me to explain the rules?"
Amber eagerly leaned over the counter. "Are you the shop owner? I heard your blind boxes can give you all sorts of magical things. Is that true?"
Ling Feng nodded, putting on a mysterious tone. "Of course. If you're lucky enough, you might even get a Vision."
Eula glanced coldly at the shop's decorations, her voice tinged with skepticism. "Sounds like a trick to fool children. Amber, let's just go back."
"Don't be such a spoilsport, Eula!" Amber tugged at her sleeve and turned back to Ling Feng. "I want to open a blind box! How much is it?"
Ling Feng smiled and held up a finger. "A regular blind box costs 1000 Mora. A limited blind box requires an item exchange, and as for the divine box... that depends on fate."
Amber didn't hesitate and pulled out the Mora. "I'll take a regular blind box!"
Ling Feng took the Mora and retrieved a delicate box from under the counter, handing it to Amber. Amber eagerly opened the box, and a golden light flashed. Inside the box lay a small badge.
"What's this?" Amber picked up the badge and examined it closely.
Ling Feng took a look and smiled. "Congratulations! You've obtained the usage rights for the 3D Maneuver Gear from *Attack on Titan*! But... it's only for one day."
"3D Maneuver Gear?" Amber's eyes lit up. "That sounds so cool! How do I use it?"
Ling Feng briefly explained how to use it, and Amber immediately pinned the badge to her chest. In the next moment, two metal ropes appeared at her waist, and she held a pair of blade handles in her hands.
"Wow! This is amazing!" Amber jumped up excitedly. "Eula, look! I can fly through the air now!"
Eula shook her head helplessly. "Be careful not to crash into anything."
But Amber was already rushing out of the shop, using the 3D Maneuver Gear to zip between the rooftops of Liyue, drawing gasps from passersby.
**Eula's Test**
Watching Amber having the time of her life, Eula turned her gaze to Ling Feng. "Your blind boxes... can they really give you anything?"
Ling Feng shrugged. "In theory, yes. But what you get depends entirely on luck. Why? Does Miss Eula want to give it a try?"
Eula hesitated for a moment, then took a delicate badge from her waist. "This is the Lawrence family emblem. Can I exchange it for a limited blind box?"
Ling Feng took the badge, examined it carefully, and nodded. "Of course. But I should warn you, the rewards and costs of limited blind boxes are random. Are you sure you want to try?"
Eula said calmly, "I never shy away from a challenge."
Ling Feng smiled and retrieved a black box from under the counter, handing it to Eula. Eula opened the box, and a blue light flashed. Inside lay a crystal-clear ice shard.
"Is this... an ice ability?" Eula asked, puzzled.
Ling Feng glanced at the system prompt and explained, "Congratulations! You've obtained Elsa's ice magic from *Frozen*! But the cost is... you'll temporarily become a chatterbox."
"A chatterbox?" Eula frowned. "What kind of strange cost is that?"
As soon as she finished speaking, she felt a surge of power enter her body, and the temperature around her dropped sharply. She instinctively raised her hand, and a snowflake formed in her palm.
"Wow! Eula, you can use ice magic too!" Amber jumped down from the rooftop, excited.
Before Eula could respond, she found herself unable to stop talking. "This ability is indeed interesting, but the cost of being a chatterbox is too strange. I usually don't like talking this much, but for some reason, I just can't stop now. This feeling is really annoying, but also a bit novel..."
Amber's eyes widened. "Eula, what... what's wrong with you?"
Eula covered her mouth, trying to stop herself from talking, but words kept spilling out from between her fingers. "I don't know why this is happening. Maybe it's a side effect of the blind box, but this feeling is really strange. I'm usually a very calm person, but now I sound like a babbling fool..."
Ling Feng couldn't help but chuckle. "It seems the side effect has taken effect. But don't worry, it'll wear off in 24 hours."
Eula glared at him, but her mouth kept running. "You're really something, shopkeeper. You didn't even warn me about the side effects. Even though this ability is powerful, the cost of being a chatterbox is too embarrassing. I just want to find a hole to hide in..."
Amber couldn't help but laugh. "Eula, you're actually kind of cute like this!"
Eula sighed helplessly, but her mouth kept going. "Amber, stop laughing. I'm really embarrassed right now. Even though this ability is useful, the cost of being a chatterbox is such a headache..."
**The Joyful Daily Life of the Mondstadt Knights**
For the next few hours, Eula was forced to become the blind box shop's "commentator." She demonstrated the power of ice magic while continuously explaining her feelings, drawing a crowd of onlookers.
Amber, meanwhile, used the 3D Maneuver Gear to fly between the rooftops of Liyue, occasionally helping Ling Feng promote the shop. "Come and see, everyone! The blind box shop really has magical things!"
By evening, Eula's "chatterbox" symptoms finally began to ease. She sat down on the steps in front of the shop, letting out a long sigh. "Finally... some peace."
Ling Feng handed her a cup of hot tea, smiling. "How do you feel?"
Eula took the tea and gave him a cold look. "Next time, if there are side effects like this, please warn me in advance."
Ling Feng shrugged. "The charm of blind boxes lies in the unknown. But your ice magic has made a lot of people envious."
Eula looked down at her hand, still feeling the power of ice in her palm. She said softly, "This ability... is indeed impressive."
Amber jumped down from the rooftop, grinning. "Eula, today was so much fun! Let's come back tomorrow!"
Eula shook her head helplessly. "You should first think about how to explain your 'rooftop flying' to Acting Grand Master Jean."
Amber stuck out her tongue. "Oh, Jean's so busy. She probably won't notice, right?"
Just then, Jean's voice came from a distance. "Amber! Eula! What are you two doing?"
The two exchanged glances and said in unison, "Run!"
Watching their hurried retreat, Ling Feng couldn't help but laugh. The knights of Mondstadt were even more interesting than he had imagined.
