Chapter 22: The Knights' Black Dragon Wave Carnival
The morning sun bathed the statue of the Anemo Archon in Mondstadt, and a cool breeze carried the scent of fresh air. Outside Ling Feng's blind box shop, a long line had already formed. Today was a special event for the Knights of Favonius, and Jean, along with Kaeya, Lisa, and Amber, had arrived early to explore the mysteries of the blind boxes.
"Boss Ling, I heard your blind boxes can give you incredible things?" Kaeya leaned against the counter, his signature playful smile on his face.
Ling Feng smiled and pointed to the array of blind boxes on the counter. "Of course, if you have enough luck, anything is possible. But I should warn you, opening blind boxes comes with risks."
"Risks?" Kaeya raised an eyebrow. "For me, risks are part of the fun."
Jean sighed helplessly. "Kaeya, don't go too far. We're here to investigate the safety of the blind box shop, not to play around."
Lisa lazily leaned against a bookshelf, holding a magic tome. "Jean, relax a little. Since we're here, why not give it a try? Maybe we'll get something interesting."
Amber jumped up excitedly. "Yeah, yeah! I want to try too! I heard Klee got a super powerful bomb last time, though Jean confiscated it in the end..."
Jean sighed. "Alright, but everyone, be careful. Don't pull anything dangerous."
Ling Feng handed over a golden blind box with a smile. "This is today's special edition, limited stock. Who wants to try?"
Kaeya didn't hesitate and took the box. "I'll go first. As the Cavalry Captain of the Knights, how could I miss this opportunity?"
He gently opened the box, and a dazzling light flashed. Inside lay a pitch-black orb with eerie patterns glowing on its surface.
"What's this?" Kaeya picked up the orb, examining it closely.
Ling Feng's system notification sounded in his mind: *[Ding! Kaeya has obtained the 'Black Dragon Wave Summoning Orb.' When used, it summons a flaming black dragon for ten minutes.]*
Ling Feng smiled. "Congratulations, Kaeya. You've pulled the 'Black Dragon Wave Summoning Orb.'"
"Black Dragon Wave?" Kaeya's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Sounds impressive."
Jean frowned. "Black Dragon Wave? That sounds like some kind of powerful magic. Kaeya, you'd better be careful."
Kaeya waved his hand dismissively. "Relax, Jean. I'm the Cavalry Captain. A little orb won't be a problem."
With that, he crushed the orb without hesitation. Instantly, a surge of scorching energy erupted from the orb, and a powerful gust of wind swept through the blind box shop.
*Boom!*
A massive black dragon burst forth from the void, its body wreathed in flames, its eyes blazing like torches, and its aura oppressive. It soared into the sky above Mondstadt, letting out an ear-splitting roar.
"Wow!" Amber's eyes widened. "That's so cool!"
Lisa closed her book, a hint of surprise in her eyes. "Fascinating. The energy fluctuations from this dragon far exceed ordinary magic."
Jean, however, looked serious. "Kaeya, you've caused a big problem! This dragon could pose a threat to Mondstadt!"
Kaeya was also stunned. "Uh... I just wanted to test it out. I didn't expect it to be this intense."
Ling Feng stood calmly to the side, secretly amused. *The system really delivered. This Black Dragon Wave is even more impressive than I imagined.*
The black dragon circled above Mondstadt, spewing flames from its mouth and setting several rooftops ablaze. The citizens panicked, scattering in all directions.
"Quick! All Knights, evacuate the citizens!" Jean immediately ordered.
Kaeya scratched his head. "Looks like I have to clean up this mess."
He drew his sword and charged toward the dragon. Amber followed closely, nocking an arrow. "Kaeya, I'll help you!"
Lisa remained in place, forming a magic circle in her hands. "Let me see if I can control this dragon."
Ling Feng watched the chaos unfold, feeling a bit helpless. *Looks like I'll have to help them clean up.*
He quietly exchanged for a "Dragon Language Translation Scroll" from the system and then shouted at the dragon, "Hey! Big guy, calm down!"
The dragon actually stopped upon hearing Ling Feng's voice and looked down at him.
"You can understand me?" Ling Feng asked tentatively.
The dragon nodded and let out a low growl.
Ling Feng breathed a sigh of relief and continued in dragon language, "You were just summoned. You'll disappear in ten minutes. Until then, don't cause any more trouble, okay?"
The dragon tilted its head, as if thinking, then slowly descended to the ground, the flames gradually extinguishing.
When Kaeya and Amber arrived, they were stunned by the scene.
"Boss Ling, you can speak dragon language?" Kaeya asked in amazement.
Ling Feng smiled. "Just a little. After all, running a blind box shop requires some special skills."
Jean also arrived, relieved to see the dragon lying quietly on the ground. "That's great. The crisis is averted."
Lisa put away her magic circle and walked over to Ling Feng. "Boss Ling, your blind boxes never fail to surprise."
Ling Feng shrugged. "Just luck. But Kaeya, next time you open a blind box, be more careful. Don't turn Mondstadt upside down again."
Kaeya laughed. "Don't worry, I'll be more careful. But this Black Dragon Wave is really cool. I wish I could pull a few more."
Jean glared at him. "You want to do this again?"
Kaeya quickly waved his hands. "Just kidding, just kidding."
The dragon disappeared as promised after ten minutes, and Mondstadt returned to peace. The citizens, recovering from their panic, began discussing the spectacle.
"I heard Cavalry Captain Kaeya summoned a black dragon!"
"Really? That's amazing!"
"He's truly the Cavalry Captain!"
Kaeya listened to the citizens' chatter and smiled smugly. "Looks like I'm Mondstadt's hero again today."
Ling Feng patted his shoulder. "Being a hero isn't easy. Next time you open a blind box, remember to bring me along. I don't want to clean up another mess."
Kaeya winked. "No problem. Next time, I'll definitely call you."
Jean walked over and said to Ling Feng, "Boss Ling, thank you for your help. However, I hope you can strengthen the management of your blind boxes to avoid situations like this in the future."
Ling Feng nodded. "Don't worry, Jean. I'll be more careful."
Lisa smiled. "Still, Boss Ling, your blind box shop is quite interesting. I'll come back to try my luck next time. Maybe I'll pull a rare magic tome."
Ling Feng laughed. "You're always welcome."
Amber jumped up excitedly. "Me too! Me too! Next time, I'll definitely pull the coolest thing!"
Ling Feng looked at the lively members of the Knights and thought to himself, *Life in Mondstadt is truly lively.*
