Chapter 6: Hu Tao Returns, Soul State Skill Causes Panic
The sky over Liyue Harbor gradually darkened, and the streets began to glow with soft lantern light. Ling Feng stood behind the counter of his blind box shop, his mood a mix of emotions. Ever since Xiangling's "Thunder Stewed Fruit" incident, Ling Feng had a bad feeling—his blind box shop seemed to have spiraled completely out of control.
"Ah, well, a little fresh excitement isn't so bad," Ling Feng sighed, picking up a book and flipping through it absentmindedly. He was already thinking about how to explain things to the residents of Liyue tomorrow, lest someone eat the "Thunder Stewed Fruit" and turn into a human battery.
Just as Ling Feng was lost in thought, a familiar voice came from the doorway: "Hehehe! Boss Ling Feng, business is booming, huh?"
Ling Feng looked up sharply to see Hu Tao standing at the entrance again, holding a small box and grinning from ear to ear.
"Hu Tao, it's you again," Ling Feng frowned slightly, putting down his book. "You're not here to cause trouble, are you?"
Hu Tao waved the box in her hand nonchalantly. "No, no, I'm just here to try my luck and see if I can get something fun!"
Ling Feng sighed softly. This girl was practically a die-hard fan of blind boxes.
"Alright, alright, since you're so enthusiastic, I'll let you open one," he said helplessly, gesturing to the neatly arranged blind boxes on the counter. "Go ahead, pick one."
Hu Tao didn't hesitate, pointing directly to the top shelf. "That one! The most expensive one!"
Ling Feng couldn't help but roll his eyes. Of course, her spending habits were back in full force. "Sure, coming right up."
He took down the "Supreme Soul Exploration Edition Blind Box" from the shelf and handed it to Hu Tao. "Here you go, this one's... pretty intense."
"Haha! The more intense, the better!" Hu Tao took the box and immediately started opening it, muttering to herself, "I hope I get some awesome spell this time. I don't want to eat dust again."
"What was it like the last time you ate dust?" Ling Feng couldn't resist teasing.
"Uh..." Hu Tao's expression turned complicated. "Let's not talk about that. I learned the hard way that dust is toxic!"
The two chatted for a bit, and soon Hu Tao had opened the box. With a crisp *ding*, a flash of light burst from the box, and a faint blue glow emerged, hovering in the air.
**[Congratulations! You have obtained the blind box reward: 'Soul State' Skill (Temporarily enter a soul state, separating from the body)]**
Ling Feng: "..."
Soul state?
Separating from the body?!
A wave of unease washed over him.
"Hey! Hu Tao! What the heck did you get?!" Ling Feng rushed forward, a bad feeling growing in his chest.
Hu Tao looked at the blue glow, blinking in curiosity. "Hmm... this skill sounds pretty cool! Separating from my body? Looks like I can turn into a ghost and have some fun!"
Ling Feng's eyes widened. "You... you're not planning to turn into a ghost, are you?!"
Hu Tao was already too excited to wait. She closed her eyes, muttered "Soul State" under her breath, and then—
*Whoosh—*
Her body trembled slightly, her outline gradually becoming transparent until she completely vanished, leaving only a blue ghostly form floating in the air.
Ling Feng: "..."
This was bad. She really turned into a ghost!
Hu Tao, now in her ghostly form, looked around excitedly and waved her translucent hand. "Wow! This is so cool! I'm a ghost now, I can float!"
Ling Feng was stunned. "Wait, hold on! You're still alive! You can't just float around like this!"
"Hehe, don't worry! Watch me fly!" Hu Tao laughed as she floated out the door.
Ling Feng was almost scared out of his wits. He had never seen anything like this before and quickly chased after her.
This girl was insane. The entire Liyue Harbor was going to know there was a ghost in the blind box shop!
Hu Tao's ghostly form immediately caused panic in the streets.
At first, a few people saw her floating by and thought they were seeing things, but soon the sightings became more frequent.
"Hey, what's going on today? Did I drink too much? Am I still drunk?" a street vendor rubbed his eyes, unable to believe what he had just seen.
"Did I just see a ghost?!" another person grabbed the person next to him, pointing at the blue figure floating through the air.
But what gave Ling Feng the biggest headache was—
Hu Tao had floated over to a group of diners at a restaurant, grinning mischievously. "Hehe, enjoying your meal? How about some 'ghost service'?"
The diners looked up in shock, and when they saw the ghostly figure, they nearly dropped their chopsticks, screaming and scrambling to get away.
"Ah! A ghost! There's a ghost!"
"Help! Oh my god! Run!"
Ling Feng rushed over, shouting at Hu Tao, "Get back here! You're scaring everyone!"
But Hu Tao just laughed. "Hahaha, it's me, Hu Tao! The director of Wangsheng Funeral Parlor! Don't worry, I won't hurt anyone!"
No matter how much she explained, the crowd was already in chaos.
"A ghost! There really is a ghost!"
"Stay away! It's a monster!"
Ling Feng ran up, trying to grab Hu Tao. "Come back right now! Or our shop is done for!"
At that moment, Hu Tao's eyes widened, and a look of surprise crossed her face. "Wait a second... isn't that the 'unlucky guy' I saw earlier?"
"Unlucky guy? Who are you talking about?" Ling Feng was confused.
Hu Tao's eyes sparkled mischievously. "That diner who accidentally burned himself to a crisp! Look at his face now—it's darker than the bottom of a pot! Hehe! With this soul state, I can make things even more fun!"
With that, she floated off into the crowd again.
Ling Feng was completely panicked. This girl was a walking time bomb!
"Hey, hey, Hu Tao! Come back! If you keep this up, Liyue Harbor will turn into a ghost town!"
But Hu Tao didn't stop, continuing to float around Liyue Harbor. Her ghostly form caused widespread panic, and everyone who saw her was terrified.
"Hu Tao, you really can't keep doing this!" Ling Feng shouted, panting as he chased after her.
Finally, after Hu Tao floated past the seventh street, Ling Feng managed to catch up and grabbed her translucent shoulder. "Stop! What are you trying to do to Liyue?!"
Hu Tao giggled. "Alright, alright, I'll give you some face. I'll stop for today, but I'll be back tomorrow to play!"
Ling Feng let out a long sigh of relief. "That was way too close..."
However, Hu Tao's "Soul State" stunt had certainly drawn a lot of attention to the blind box shop.
Ling Feng looked helplessly at the chaos in Liyue Harbor, shaking his head. "From now on, I absolutely cannot let her open anything like this again!"
