Genshin Impact: Selling Pokemons in Teyvat

Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Magikarp

Hu Tao pressed the draw button again, and the images on the Pokédex began to spin. At that moment, it was as if she could hear the sound of Mora slipping away.

The next moment, a small brown bird appeared on the Pokédex screen.

"Customer, your luck is really good! This is said to be the juvenile form of the legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh—Spearow!"

Li Pan covered his mouth, barely holding back a laugh.

"So, would you like to buy this Spearow?"

"No, keep drawing! I refuse to believe my luck is this bad!"

Hu Tao glared at the Spearow on the Pokédex and pressed the draw button again. But three minutes later…

Hu Tao knelt on the floor in despair, muttering to herself.

"Caterpie, Spearow, Magikarp, Weedle… hehe… hehehe…"

Li Pan, standing behind the counter, couldn't bear to watch. It was just too tragic.

"Customer, you still have one more draw today. Would you like to continue, or will you take this Weedle?"

As a seasoned businessman, Li Pan managed to keep a straight face and not laugh out loud.

Hearing this, Hu Tao grabbed the Pokédex.

"Draw! Of course, I'll draw! Even if it's a Magikarp, I'll take it for my last draw today!"

Her gritted teeth made it seem like she was addicted to the gacha.

With that, Hu Tao pressed the draw button again.

The images began to spin once more, and Hu Tao's breathing grew more rapid.

Beep!

With a soft sound, something resembling a candle appeared on the Pokédex.

Hu Tao glanced at it, and her face immediately fell. "This time it's not even a living thing?!"

She was furious, feeling like the damn Pokédex was targeting her.

When Li Pan heard "candle," he leaned over to take a look and immediately showed a surprised expression.

"Customer, your luck has turned around!"

Hu Tao turned to glare at him.

"Boss, which legendary Pokémon's juvenile form is this?"

She had already figured out that Li Pan's talk of legendary Pokémon juveniles was just him messing with her.

"No, no, you're overthinking it. This Pokémon has great potential. It's called Litwick, a Ghost- and Fire-type Pokémon. Its final evolution is Chandelure, with a base stat total of 520 and a Special Attack stat of 145. It's a very powerful special attacker."

Hearing this, Hu Tao looked at him in shock.

"Ghost? Boss, you sell ghosts here?!"

As someone who walked the boundary between life and death, Hu Tao's job, aside from conducting funerals, was to ensure that the worlds of the living and the dead didn't overlap.

Whenever someone claimed that Liyue was haunted, she was the one to handle it. After all, if humans stayed with ghosts for too long, it could shorten their lifespan. And now, Li Pan was saying he had ghosts here?!

"It's not a ghost, but a Ghost-type Pokémon. Would you like to see it?"

Hu Tao rubbed her fair chin, skeptically examining Li Pan. She could tell that his life force was intact, and he didn't seem like someone who lived with ghosts.

"Alright, I'll take a look."

"Please wait a moment, customer."

With that, Li Pan walked into the back of the shop. Soon, he returned with a walking candle.

The candle had short arms and tiny yellow eyes the size of green beans. The wick on its head burned with a blue flame.

"Wick… wick…"

As soon as Litwick saw Hu Tao, its tiny yellow eyes sparkled with excitement.

It wobbled over to Hu Tao, waving its short arms vigorously.

"This… it has a physical form, but it carries an aura of yin energy?"

Hu Tao crouched down and gently poked Litwick's little face, speaking in surprise.

She had never seen such a strange creature before.

Beep!

[Litwick]

Type: Ghost, Fire

The Candle Pokémon. The flame on Litwick's head burns by absorbing the life force of humans and Pokémon.

Ability: Flash Fire (When hit by a Fire-type move, it takes no damage and instead absorbs the fire, boosting its own power.)

Level: 5

Moves: Smog, Astonish, Ember

The mechanical voice of the Pokédex introduced Litwick's information to Hu Tao.

"So this is a Pokémon?"

Hu Tao kept poking Litwick with her finger, like a child who had just gotten a new toy.

"Yes, customer. This is Litwick, a Ghost-type Pokémon with great potential. If you plan to raise Litwick, I recommend buying a few Energy Roots. You can brew them in water and drink it in your spare time."

With that, Li Pan took a few brown roots from the shelf.

"Boss, let's put the roots aside for now. I heard from the Pokédex that this little guy won't be hurt by Fire-type attacks. Is that true or not?"

Hu Tao poked Litwick, her starry eyes filled with curiosity.

Li Pan smiled lightly. "Customer, you're talking about the Flash Fire ability. Flash Fire allows Litwick to absorb fire to a certain extent, but if it exceeds that limit, it won't work. After all, you can't expect this little guy to absorb the flames of the Pyro Archon, can you?"

Hu Tao nodded, finding it reasonable.

"Then, Boss, what's the upper limit of fire Litwick can absorb? Will this limit increase in the future?"

"The upper limit of fire that Flash Fire can absorb increases with the Pokémon's strength. As for how much Litwick can absorb now, you'll need to figure that out yourself."

After hearing Li Pan's words, Hu Tao was intrigued. Her Pyro Vision glowed faintly, and a lifelike butterfly made of flames appeared in her hand.

The butterfly fluttered in the air, and the next moment, it landed on Litwick's head.

Instantly, the flame butterfly dissipated, assimilated into the blue flame on Litwick's head.

"Wick~"

At the same time, a blush appeared on Litwick's little face, and its body swayed unsteadily. It wore a drunken smile, as if it had had too much to drink.

Seeing this, Hu Tao's eyes lit up completely.

Although Litwick could only assimilate a small amount of fire now, it was indeed absorbing and assimilating it.

"Boss, how much is this Pokémon? I'll take it."

The more she looked at Litwick, the more she liked it. She directly called out to Li Pan. After all, the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor was a wealthy establishment. If they could afford to keep Zhongli around, they could certainly afford a Litwick.

Hearing this, Li Pan's smile grew even wider. Another sale completed, bringing him one step closer to his goal of twenty sales.

"Customer, Litwick costs 520,000 Mora. The Poké Ball and Pokédex are included as gifts, but you'll need to buy the Ghost- and Fire-type Pokéblocks, as well as the Energy Roots, which cost 40,000 Mora each."

As he spoke, Li Pan packed everything up.

Hu Tao, being the little rich girl she was, didn't care at all. With a wave of her hand, she bought everything, sending the bill to the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.

…

Meanwhile, in a cave in Qingce Village, a team of Millelith soldiers was exploring deeper, accompanied by Yan Bang and his Lillipup.

The other Millelith soldiers looked enviously at Lillipup. After working together for so many days, they had come to understand the little creature's incredible strength.

It was strong, loyal to its owner, and, most importantly, intelligent. How could such a perfect pet exist in this world?

Those who were often shown off by Yan Bang now felt as if they had eaten ten lemons at once.

Suddenly, Lillipup, who was scouting ahead, stopped in its tracks, baring its teeth and glaring into the depths of the cave.
