Chapter 6: Chapter 6
On the sandy beaches of Inazuma, Akio emerged from the void.
"Herrscher of Rebirth?" Akio murmured, a faint white energy swirling in his hand.
"Let's test it out," he said, spotting a small sparrow not far away. With a wave of his hand, spatial energy enveloped the bird, bringing it to his palm.
"Crack…"
"Oh? So, Teyvat does have souls," Akio realized. With the power of life and death now at his fingertips, he could see the sparrow's soul.
With a thought, milky-white energy wrapped around the sparrow. In the next moment, its soul returned to its body.
The sparrow's drooping head perked up, and it chirped in panic, struggling in Akio's hand.
Akio released it, watching as the sparrow flew away without a trace of discomfort.
"The power of resurrection is truly formidable," Akio took a deep breath. He had a feeling that the power of life and death wasn't limited to reviving the recently deceased.
"The power of life and death not only allows you to achieve immortality and revive the recently deceased, but you can also resurrect anything that has passed away, based on the rules of existence," the system's voice echoed in his ears. "In other words, if you wish, you could even revive someone like Makoto, who only has a trace of consciousness left."
"Revive Makoto?" Akio was momentarily stunned. If Ei found out, she'd go crazy!
"Isn't Ei still secluded in the Plane of Euthymia?" Akio rubbed his chin. If he could revive Makoto, Ei would agree to any condition he proposed, right?
Hehehe, Akio seemed to have discovered a way to win over his "waifu," Ei.
With Ei's stoic and taciturn personality, it was nearly impossible to win her over. She probably didn't even know what love was.
"And then there's Lady Saiguu. If I told Yae Miko I could revive her, wouldn't she be over the moon?" Akio's smile grew wider as he thought about it.
A man's worth is not in his possessions, but in his abilities. The power of resurrection would undoubtedly be the most coveted ability in Teyvat, attracting the envy of many.
But with his current power, which rivaled that of the top deities, Akio was confident he could handle anyone—except perhaps the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles herself.
The power of life and death wasn't just about life; it also represented absolute annihilation! It could erase anything weaker than him from existence at a fundamental level.
With the Abyss Flower and the Key of the Void, two top-tier divine weapons, Akio dared to think he could even take on Morax.
Once he unlocked the SS-rank template, he'd be confident enough to take on the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles herself.
"Ah~ Help!" Suddenly, Akio faintly heard a cry for help in the distance.
"Hmm?" Akio's eyes narrowed, and he instantly disappeared from the spot. He had promised Yae Miko to become the Great Divine Official of Inazuma. If the people of Inazuma were in trouble, he would naturally step in.
"Let me go!" In a camp of Kairagi, a beautiful young girl with a pale face struggled as a Kairagi in purple armor dragged her toward a tattered bed.
The surrounding Nobushi watched excitedly. It had been so long since they'd seen such a beautiful woman. Once their leader was done, they might get a taste too.
"Little beauty, scream all you want. No one's coming to save you," the Kairagi sneered. "Stop struggling! Be a good girl, and I'll let you live."
"Bastard! Let me go!" The girl was terrified, her face pale and tears streaming down her cheeks.
Hiiragi Chisato never imagined that she'd encounter such a situation while out on an errand. Raised in luxury, she had never been treated like this before.
Her guards had been killed, and without a Vision, she was no match for the burly Kairagi.
"Shut up!" The Kairagi growled, annoyed by her crying. "If you keep crying, I'll kill you right now. It's not like I can't use you while you're still warm!"
Hiiragi Chisato trembled, her tearful eyes wide with fear. She didn't dare make a sound anymore, utterly despairing.
She couldn't imagine the terrible consequences if she, the daughter of the Hiiragi Clan, were to be defiled by these bandits.
"I… I have money! If you don't touch me, I can give you a lot of money…" Hiiragi Chisato bit her lip. "Enough to keep you comfortable for the rest of your lives! Just don't touch me…"
"Oh?" The Kairagi's eyes flickered. Judging by her attire, she was indeed from a wealthy family. If they could get their hands on a lifetime's worth of Mora…
Just as the Kairagi hesitated, a Nobushi hurried over, holding a piece of paper. "Boss, I found this on her guard. We're in big trouble!"
"What's the matter? Why are you panicking?" The Kairagi snatched the paper from the Nobushi.
"She… she's the daughter of the Hiiragi Clan! We've messed with a high-ranking official!" The Nobushi said in a panic.
The Hiiragi Clan was one of the three most powerful families in Inazuma. Crushing a small band of Nobushi would be as easy as squashing an ant.
"Damn it!" After reading the paper, the Kairagi's face turned pale, then he glared at Hiiragi Chisato. "You little bitch, trying to trick me, huh? If I let you go, your father will come and wipe us out!"
"Damn it… looks like I'm done for, but I'm taking you with me," the Kairagi sneered. "Even if I die, it'll be worth it after having my way with you!"
"Ah… stay away from me!" Hiiragi Chisato was truly despairing.
"Someone, please save me! Save me…"
In her heart, Hiiragi Chisato prayed to the gods.
Could someone, anyone, come to her rescue? If they did, she'd be willing to give anything…
But no deity answered.
Hiiragi Chisato's eyes filled with despair as the Kairagi closed in.
She bit her tongue, ready to end her own life.
Even in death, she wouldn't allow herself to be defiled. She was the daughter of the Hiiragi Clan, and she had her pride.
At that moment, a streak of white light shot across the sky, piercing through the Kairagi's body.
Everyone froze, watching as a black-handled, white-bladed spear pinned the Kairagi to the ground. He was dead before he could even scream.
"Who's there?!" The sudden turn of events sent chills down everyone's spines. The Kairagi was their strongest fighter, capable of killing even Vision bearers. Yet, he'd been killed by a spear that came out of nowhere?
"…" The Kairagi had been close to Hiiragi Chisato, and his warm blood splattered across her face, giving her delicate features a slightly eerie look.
But Hiiragi Chisato didn't scream. Instead, she calmly looked toward the direction from which the spear had come.
