Chapter 7: Chapter 7
Under the terrified gazes of the Nobushi and the hopeful eyes of Hiiragi Chisato, a figure surrounded by a faint golden light slowly descended from the sky.
Akio's expression was cold.
The Nobushi were truly the troublemakers of Inazuma! In just half a day, he had already encountered two incidents involving them.
Akio hovered in mid-air, the space around him slightly distorted. With a wave of his hand, the Abyss Flower returned to his grasp. In the next moment, the Kairagi's body disintegrated into dust and vanished into the air.
"Monster! You're a monster!" One of the Nobushi broke down, raising his crossbow and firing at Akio.
But before the bolt could reach him, it was swallowed by a black hole. In the next instant, a black hole appeared beside the Nobushi, and the bolt shot out, piercing through his skull.
"Ahhhhhh…" Terrified by Akio's bizarre methods, the Nobushi, who were usually ruthless and cruel, scattered like frightened birds.
"Pathetic, insignificant, and overestimating yourselves! Struggling only hastens your death," Akio sneered. A black hole formed above the Nobushi, and a torrent of golden energy poured down, obliterating them into nothingness.
"Huh… why do I feel like I've become a bit edgy after using the Herrscher of the Void's power?" Akio mentally mocked himself as he landed and turned to Hiiragi Chisato.
Hiiragi Chisato was staring at Akio in a daze.
Akio was naturally handsome, enhanced by the "Teyvat's Most Devoted" title, and now bathed in golden light like a deity, he left Hiiragi Chisato utterly captivated.
Akio frowned slightly, noticing a large wound on Hiiragi Chisato's thigh, likely caused by being dragged earlier. Blood was still flowing from it.
With a wave of his hand, the power of creation enveloped Hiiragi Chisato, healing all her wounds.
"Are… are you a deity?" Hiiragi Chisato snapped out of her trance, looking at Akio bathed in golden light. She worshipped the Raiden Shogun, but at this moment, Akio was the deity who had saved her.
"Are you a citizen of Inazuma?" Akio asked.
"Leave this place quickly. The Nobushi are rampant, and someone as vulnerable as you is like prey to them."
With that, Akio turned to leave.
"Deity… Deity, please wait!" Hiiragi Chisato's voice called out from behind. Akio turned to look.
"Deity, my name is Hiiragi Chisato, daughter of the head of the Hiiragi Clan in Inazuma," Hiiragi Chisato said, her face slightly flushed.
"Please grace the Hiiragi Clan with your presence. I wish to thank you for saving my life."
"..." Akio shook his head.
"We'll talk about gratitude later. I have matters to attend to today. The Hiiragi Clan is on Ritou, right?"
"This place isn't far from Ritou," Akio thought for a moment, then used the Herrscher of the Void's power to compress space into three small golden crystals.
"Take these. If you encounter a situation like earlier, throw one of these crystals at them. They'll explode automatically," Akio handed the crystals to her.
"The explosion is powerful enough to kill them. Use them carefully—they can only be used three times."
"If you don't use them all, you can keep them as a means of self-defense."
"Alright…" Hearing Akio decline her invitation, Hiiragi Chisato felt a pang of disappointment. But knowing she shouldn't disturb his important matters, she took the crystals and said, "If you have time, Deity, please visit the Hiiragi Clan."
Akio nodded, his figure transforming into a streak of light and disappearing into the horizon.
"Lord…" Hiiragi Chisato reached out, but Akio was already gone.
"Hiiragi Chisato, Hiiragi Chisato! Why are you so foolish? Why didn't you ask for the deity's name?" Hiiragi Chisato scolded herself.
"The deity of Inazuma has always been the Raiden Shogun. With this deity arriving in Inazuma, could there be…" Hiiragi Chisato felt a sense of worry. A foreign deity entering another deity's territory could easily lead to divine conflict.
"He's so gentle and kind. He must be a good deity, right?" Hiiragi Chisato thought. "I hope he and the Raiden Shogun don't come into conflict."
"Clatter, clatter…" Suddenly, the sound of numerous footsteps approached.
"Who's there?" Hiiragi Chisato tightened her grip on one of the golden crystals, alert as she looked toward the source of the noise.
Seeing the newcomers, Hiiragi Chisato relaxed. It was a group of dozens of retainers from the Hiiragi Clan.
Leading them was a soldier named Shinjuku. When he saw Hiiragi Chisato's disheveled state, his expression changed, and he hurried over with his men.
"Miss, are you alright?" Shinjuku asked anxiously, glancing at the corpses of the Nobushi around them, fearing something terrible had happened.
"Shinjuku? I'm fine…" Hiiragi Chisato murmured, her mind still replaying the image of that majestic, radiant figure.
Shinjuku quickly took out a cloak, intending to drape it over Hiiragi Chisato. Her clothes were torn, and though nothing was exposed, as a young lady of high status, she couldn't be seen in such a state.
"Ah!" Seeing Shinjuku approach, Hiiragi Chisato instinctively took two steps back. "Thank you, Shinjuku. I'll do it myself."
Hiiragi Chisato took the cloak and wrapped it tightly around herself. Then, she looked at Shinjuku curiously. "Why are you all here?"
Seeing Hiiragi Chisato's distance, Shinjuku felt a pang of sadness but still smiled. "Miss, the master was worried about you, so he ordered us to patrol the area. When we heard the explosion, we rushed over."
"I see," Hiiragi Chisato nodded. "Then, please take their bodies back. They died protecting me. They are the Hiiragi Clan's benefactors."
Hiiragi Chisato felt a deep sorrow. Those who had died protecting her were young men with families and loved ones. Now, they were gone…
Sighing, Hiiragi Chisato silently vowed that the Hiiragi Clan would take responsibility for caring for their families.
"Understood, Miss," Shinjuku nodded, directing his men to handle the aftermath.
"Miss, everything's taken care of. Let's return," Shinjuku said after a while, noticing that Hiiragi Chisato was still staring into the distance.
"Ah? Oh, right, let's go back," Hiiragi Chisato snapped out of her thoughts, pursed her lips, and left with the soldiers.
…
"It was Hiiragi Chisato?" As he flew, Akio thought about Hiiragi Chisato's storyline in the game. Wasn't she the girl who was deeply in love with Kamisato Ayaka's older brother, Kamisato Ayato? They almost got married, though it didn't work out.
"The way that girl looked at me just now was a bit off. Am I being too narcissistic? Or…" Akio suddenly shivered. "This is bad. Am I about to inherit the Clan Head's legacy?"
"She has someone she loves. Her feelings toward me are probably just reverence and worship for a deity," Akio muttered. "Or maybe I've been single for too long and am just feeling spring fever?"
"Still, I'm a model youth of the new era. Being a Clan Head… isn't entirely out of the question," Akio shook his head. These things would happen naturally, and he wasn't opposed to it.
