Genshin Impact : The Divine Gunsliger of Teyvat

Chapter 55: Chapter 055: Eula Lawrence

As the aroma of the dishes began to fill the air, Paimon finally stopped fooling around and quietly returned to her seat. For Paimon, good food was the ultimate cure for all troubles.

Just as the three of them were about to enjoy their meal, a commotion broke out in the distance.

Lumine, sharp-eyed, noticed the disturbance and spotted a familiar figure.

After a few seconds, Lumine pointed in that direction and whispered to the other two, "Isn't that Amber?"

Shao Yun followed Lumine's finger and squinted, confirming that it was indeed Amber running toward them.

Amber looked flustered, her eyes darting through the crowd as if she were avoiding something.

When she saw the three of them sitting at the Good Hunter, her eyes lit up with relief, as if she had found her saviors. She shouted as she ran, her voice filled with urgency, "Lumine! Paimon, and Shao Yun, help me!"

The three exchanged glances, confusion and concern evident in their eyes. They didn't know what trouble Amber had gotten into, but seeing her frantic state, they knew they had to act quickly.

Shao Yun was the first to move. He stood up and said to Lumine and Paimon, "Let's go see what's going on with Amber. Be ready to act if needed!"

With that, he dashed toward Amber and pulled her behind him.

Shao Yun turned to the panicked Amber, assuming she had encountered remnants of the Fatui. He immediately drew the revolver from his waist, exuding an intimidating aura. "Don't worry, are they Fatui remnants? I'll take care of them!"

Before he could finish, a cool and resolute female voice rang out.

"Amber! I wasn't done talking! Come back here!"

Shao Yun turned toward the voice and saw a tall woman with short sea-blue hair, dressed in a knight's attire that blended elegance with practicality. She wore a double-layered cape over her right shoulder and strode forward in long, heeled boots.

Wasn't this the Spindrift Knight, Eula Lawrence?

Eula scanned the area with an angry glare, her eyes quickly locking onto Amber, who was hiding behind Shao Yun. She immediately shouted, "Amber, I see you! Get over here!" Her voice was filled with frustration and urgency.

Shao Yun stood to the side, muttering to himself, "What's going on today? Is everyone under their partner's thumb?" He felt utterly confused, unable to understand why Eula was so upset.

Soon, Eula and Amber began a lively chase around Shao Yun.

Eula was like Jing Ke from the story of Jing Ke's assassination attempt on the Qin emperor, except she wasn't holding a dagger.

Amber, on the other hand, played the role of the Qin emperor, though she wasn't as tall.

The two of them circled around Shao Yun like a pillar, running back and forth.

Eula kept reaching out to grab Amber, but each time, Amber skillfully dodged her.

Frustrated, Eula scolded as she chased, "Amber! As soon as I got back to Mondstadt, I heard you were captured by the Fatui! How could you be so careless?"

Her tone was a mix of worry and reproach.

Amber, clutching Shao Yun's clothes tightly, continued to dodge Eula's attempts to catch her, explaining, "Eula! I'm fine, see?"

Each explanation was accompanied by her nimble evasion of Eula's grasp.

Watching the two of them circle around him, Shao Yun felt dizzy. He finally couldn't take it anymore and spread his arms, shouting, "Enough! Stop!"

His voice was filled with exasperation and fatigue. What's with everyone today? Is it some kind of "partner management" day?

At Shao Yun's command, the two girls finally stopped their chase.

Eula, panting, looked at Amber with a mix of concern and reproach, while Amber awkwardly smiled.

Shao Yun's gaze shifted between the two, pointing at Eula and then at Amber, his tone laced with confusion and a hint of irritation. "What's going on with you two?"

Amber cautiously peeked out from behind Shao Yun and began introducing them to each other.

"That's Eula, my friend," Amber first introduced Eula to Shao Yun, then turned to Eula to introduce the others. "Eula, these are the Honorary Knight, Paimon, and... they're also my friends!"

After hearing Amber's introduction, Shao Yun frowned slightly, seemingly surprised that Amber hadn't introduced him first. He turned to Amber and asked in a low voice, "What about me? Am I not worth introducing?"

Amber was taken aback by Shao Yun's question, then quickly forced an awkward smile, explaining in a voice as soft as a mosquito's, "Ah, no, I... I..."

Eula, who hadn't heard Amber's earlier words, only caught the introductions.

She crossed her arms, her face full of dissatisfaction. "Oh, so you've got new friends and forgotten about your old one, huh? This grudge, I'll remember it."

But now wasn't the time to dwell on classic lines. Why were these two causing a scene so early in the morning?

Shao Yun looked at Eula and Amber, puzzled, trying to make sense of the sudden situation.

"What's going on with you two this early in the morning?" Shao Yun asked, his voice tinged with confusion.

Eula, hearing this, looked at Shao Yun with determination. She took a deep breath and began to explain the situation.

"I need to teach Amber a lesson!" Her voice carried a stern tone.

She then turned her gaze back to Amber and continued, "As soon as I heard about the Hilichurls attacking Mondstadt, I rushed back without even sleeping, worried something might happen to you. Thankfully, by the time I arrived, I heard that someone named Shao Yun had already dealt with the Hilichurls."

At this point, a hint of relief appeared on Eula's face. She seemed grateful that Shao Yun had handled the Hilichurl situation, but her tone quickly turned serious again.

"However, I didn't expect the Fatui to take advantage of the situation and seize the city's defenses." Eula's eyes flashed with anger. "This is a direct challenge and insult to Mondstadt! And what makes me even angrier is that you, Amber, got captured!"

As she spoke, Eula reached out to grab Amber again, her voice filled with reproach and concern. "Amber, how could you be so careless? As a member of the Knights of Favonius, you should always be on guard!"

This time, Amber couldn't dodge. She struggled in Eula's arms like a trapped rabbit, her eyes filled with defiance and stubbornness.

Her hands flailed uselessly against Eula's firm grip, trying to break free.

"Eula, the Hilichurls and the Fatui have already been dealt with by Shao Yun. What are you so worried about?" Amber's voice carried a mix of frustration and exasperation, trying to calm Eula down.

However, Eula didn't relax. She lightly tapped Amber's head, her brows furrowed, her tone filled with deep concern.

"How can I not worry? Do you think this new friend of yours is that Shao Yun guy? Do you even know him? Who's always been there to save you when you're in trouble? It's me!"

Eula then glanced up at Shao Yun, muttering under her breath, "Though, I have to admit, you're tall, handsome, and built like a bear. You do fit the description of that guy. But I heard he eats people, so he probably wouldn't be here, right?"

Seeing Shao Yun staring at her, Eula frowned and said with dissatisfaction, "You're Amber's friend, not mine. What does it matter to you if I scold her?"

[Notice: Eula currently views you as an enemy. The Gunslinger Outfit effect will now apply to the target: "Eula."]

(TL/N: don't kill her.. just f*ck her 🗿)

Shao Yun's face darkened as he raised his hand and said, "Is it possible that I am Shao Yun? And I don't eat people!"

"Ah!" Eula, affected by the Gunslinger Outfit's effect, was so startled that she let go of Amber and fell to the ground.

Sweat visibly beaded on her forehead as she avoided Shao Yun's gaze, her eyes filled with fear.

Shao Yun, seeing Eula's reaction, sighed helplessly. He turned to Amber and said, "It's all your fault, Amber. Lumine and Paimon introduced themselves, but you didn't mention me. Now look, you've scared her."

Amber, hearing this, looked both embarrassed and apologetic.

She helped Eula, whose legs were still trembling, to her feet and scratched her head, saying softly, "I was in a hurry earlier. Besides, you don't seem scary to me. How could anyone think you eat people?"

Shao Yun rolled his eyes at Amber. Forget the Gunslinger Outfit's effect—he had just slaughtered an entire hotel full of people. Rumors spread like wildfire, and who knew what kind of monster he'd been turned into in people's minds. Amber clearly had no clue!

Eula, with Amber's support, staggered to her feet, each step seemingly a struggle against her inner fear. She stammered, "You... you're the one who eats people? No, no, I mean, Mr. Shao Yun?"

Hearing Eula's words, Shao Yun couldn't help but laugh. He patted his clothes and said, "The one and only, guaranteed authentic!"

After saying that, he decided not to dwell on the whole "eating people" rumor and waved his hand generously.

"Since we've met, let's not dwell on it. None of you have eaten yet, right? Let's sit down and have a meal. My treat."

Facing Shao Yun's invitation, Amber happily accepted and quickly pulled Eula over, bringing two extra chairs to join the table.

Amber sat down and patted the seat beside her, smiling. "Eula, sit next to me."

Eula glanced at the chair, then at Shao Yun, who was giving her a "friendly" look, and hesitated, her courage wavering.

Shao Yun, however, waved his hand and said, "Sit down. Amber already brought the chairs over."

"Ugh, this grudge... I... I..." Eula's voice grew weaker as she reluctantly sat down next to Amber, her head lowered in discomfort.

Amber found it strange. Why was Eula skipping her usual lines?

Shao Yun, seeing Eula's reserved demeanor, felt equally baffled. What kind of monster do people think I am?

At this rate, rumors would soon spread that Barbatos had sent a three-headed, eight-armed devil to storm the Goth Hotel and devour all the Fatui.

Shao Yun gently waved to the waitress at the counter. For some reason, it wasn't Sara today but a new face. Maybe Sara was on leave.

"Hello, miss, could you bring two more sets of utensils for these ladies? Thank you."

The new waitress approached, carrying two sets of utensils.

When she handed the utensils to Amber, her smile was warm and bright, like the spring sun, and she even arranged them neatly.

However, when she turned to Eula, her smile froze, turning cold and stiff.

Her movements became rough as she slammed the utensils onto the table, the sound sharp and jarring, even causing a corner of the plate to crack.

"You!"

The waitress turned and left without a second glance. Eula glanced at her retreating figure, a flash of displeasure in her eyes, but in the end, she chose to endure and didn't react.

The Lawrence family wasn't well-regarded in Mondstadt, but even so, shouldn't the service be better? This wasn't just disrespect toward Eula—it was a slap in my face!

Shao Yun, seeing this, frowned slightly and snapped his fingers.

"Miss, could you come here for a moment?"

The new waitress turned around, her professional smile back in place. "Is there something else you need?"

Shao Yun gave her a deep look, then calmly pointed at Eula's plate and said in a steady voice, "Please bring another set of utensils and place it gently in front of Miss Eula this time. Thank you."

His tone was polite, but the underlying message was clear: treat my guest with respect.

"But she's..."

The new waitress tried to explain, but Shao Yun wasn't having it. He didn't care about her opinions—he only cared about his own.

"She's my guest. Provide good service. Understand?"

The waitress hesitated for a moment. Providing good service was her job, and she couldn't refuse a reasonable request from a customer.

"Alright..."

She reluctantly brought a new set of utensils for Eula.

Eula looked at the new utensils, her emotions mixed. She knew her family name was practically a curse in Mondstadt, and she had expected to be treated differently once again.

But Shao Yun's attitude made her feel respected. She looked up at him, a glimmer of gratitude in her eyes.

Perhaps Shao Yun wasn't the man-eating monster people made him out to be. Maybe he was just a polite man-eating monster.

(TL/N: 🗿)

Shao Yun distributed the extra bottles of Apple Cider to Amber and Eula, but let Paimon keep two bottles for herself.

He raised his own bottle of Apple Cider and toasted to Lumine, Paimon, Amber, and Eula.

"To the start of a wonderful day!"
