Genshin Impact: Transmigrated as Liyue’s Yin-Yang Archon

Chapter 4: The Polluted Azhdaha

Suddenly, the ground trembled violently. A massive dragon, as vast as a mountain, crawled out of the abyss, its four legs towering like pillars holding up the sky.

Standing atop the Chasm, this was Azhdaha—a being born of elemental creation, as ancient as the mountains and seas. Yet even a dragon of such immense power could be worn down by the passage of endless time.

"What is that?! Run!"

"It's an earthquake! Get to higher ground!"

"Mom, I'm scared!"

Cries of panic erupted from the people in the Chasm below.

"RAAAAHHH!"

Azhdaha's furious roar shook the entire Chasm.

"This is bad! The people below won't be able to withstand that shockwave."

Qiu Bai's expression grew tense. Without hesitation, he summoned his avatars, who instantly teleported in front of the Liyue citizens, whisking them away one by one to safety. In a matter of moments, the entire population of the Chasm had been evacuated.

"Oh my god, did you see that? The Adeptus just carried me!"

"He's so handsome!"

A young girl gushed, her eyes sparkling as she excitedly shared her experience with those around her.

"Moving tens of thousands of people sure is exhausting…" Qiu Bai panted.

"Thank you, my friend. From here on, this matter is between me and him."

Morax turned to face Azhdaha, his expression grave.

"Azhdaha, you have broken our contract. As per the terms of our pact, you will once again be sealed in darkness."

His voice, imbued with divine power, echoed throughout the Chasm.

"Morax!" Azhdaha roared, his voice filled with rage. "It was the humans who destroyed the ley lines I depend on for survival!"

"Azhdaha…" Morax's gaze softened slightly. "If you still remember our contract, if you still remember the gift of sight I granted you, then stop this now."

"Morax, they are nothing but ants!" Azhdaha bellowed. "I am a creation of the elements, as old as the mountains and the seas!"

"They are not ants. They are my people."

Morax's expression darkened, and a golden spear of stone coalesced in his hand. "So be it. Those who break their word shall suffer the judgment of stone."

"Azhdaha!!"

"It's happening! It's finally happening!"

From below, Qiu Bai watched in excitement as the battle between god and dragon was about to begin.

"Wait… something seems off about Azhdaha."

Dark mist swirled around the massive dragon's body.

"That black aura… Could it be that Azhdaha has been corrupted?"

Qiu Bai's expression grew serious. As the Archon of Yin and Yang, he could see things others could not.

"If Azhdaha really is corrupted… could my Yang energy purify him?"

He turned his thoughts inward.

"System, can you scan Azhdaha's current state?"

Ding!

[If the host wishes to view Azhdaha's status, it will cost ten years of your origin energy. Recovery will take ten years.]

"Check it! It's only ten years—compared to the actual storyline, I've still got over a thousand years left. No big deal."

Qiu Bai dismissed the cost without a second thought.

Azhdaha

Identity: Elemental Creation of Teyvat

Status: Corrupted by the "Dark Calamity" beneath the Chasm.

"So he really is corrupted… System, if I purify Azhdaha, how long will I be in stasis?"

[Purification will put the host into a deep sleep for approximately one thousand years.]

"A thousand years…? That would be right around the time the Traveler arrives in Mondstadt."

As Qiu Bai pondered his next move, the battle between Morax and Azhdaha had already begun.

Azhdaha soared into the sky, colliding head-on with Morax. A blinding white light engulfed the land, turning everything beneath it into a sea of radiant brilliance.

At incredible speed, the god and the dragon clashed, tearing through the Chasm and carrying their battle into the skies of Jueyun Karst. The Adepti could do nothing but watch.

"No… I have to see for myself!"

Without hesitation, Qiu Bai took off, flying toward the battlefield.

As he neared, the devastation below became painfully clear. The land was torn asunder by the battle's aftershocks, the very earth itself fractured and crumbling. His heart sank. He pushed forward, flying even faster.

"I finally made it!"

Before him, the titanic figures of Azhdaha and the Geo Archon clashed again and again. Each impact sent shockwaves through the mountains, causing the land to shake and crumble.

"Fortunately, there aren't many mortals here."

Qiu Bai stroked his chin.

"Yin-Yang Immortal Lord!"

He looked down, puzzled.

"Yin-Yang Immortal Lord, it's me, Ganyu! Please, help the Geo Lord!"

Ganyu called out urgently, her expression full of worry.

"This is a contract between Morax and Azhdaha. I have no place interfering," Qiu Bai said, somewhat helpless.

"Then what should we do? Just let them keep fighting like this?"

Cloud Retainer turned to Qiu Bai, her gaze filled with uncertainty. After all, aside from Morax, Qiu Bai was the only one present capable of matching Azhdaha in power.

"I do have a solution… but I might have to sleep for a thousand years," Qiu Bai said with a wry smile.

"What do you mean by that, Yin-Yang Immortal Lord?"

The Adepti looked at him, perplexed.

Qiu Bai didn't explain and simply continued,

"The Azhdaha you see now has been corrupted by the 'Black Calamity' beneath the Chasm."

His gaze turned toward the massive dragon, his expression complex.

"Even Morax hasn't realized it yet. But as the God of Yin and Yang, I am highly attuned to these things."

"If I unleash my full power, I can purify Azhdaha."

With those words, a sense of resolve solidified within him. Qiu Bai clenched his teeth.

"A thousand years? Whatever, I'll deal with it!"

"Cloud Retainer, once I fall asleep, seal my body inside my domain. And make sure I strike a cool pose!"

Just as he was about to charge forward, he suddenly remembered something and turned back to Cloud Retainer.

"My domain is sealed with a password. It's 114514—don't forget."

Before she could even react, Qiu Bai had already teleported to the battlefield, placing himself between the god and the dragon.

Morax, who was about to strike, hesitated upon seeing him.

"Azhdaha!!!"

But Azhdaha's attack was already upon him.

Qiu Bai countered with a full-force punch. The impact sent him flying hundreds of meters, while Azhdaha's mountain-sized body crashed into the cliffs behind, shattering them to rubble.

"Tsk… That really hurt."

Qiu Bai groaned, quickly getting back on his feet before teleporting to Morax's side.

"Friend, why did you do that?" Morax asked, his tone questioning.

"Morax, Azhdaha is not suffering from mere erosion. He has been corrupted by the 'Black Calamity' beneath the Chasm," Qiu Bai said, his gaze serious.

"As the God of Yin and Yang, I can see things others cannot."

"Morax, hold him off for just a few moments—I need to purify him!"

Morax's expression darkened. If something was capable of corrupting Azhdaha at his peak, then the source of that corruption must be truly formidable.

"Friend, even in his prime, Azhdaha fell to corruption. Are you certain that purging the darkness from him will come without consequence?"

Morax's calculating mind weighed the risks, his golden eyes locking onto Qiu Bai.

Qiu Bai simply smiled.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine."

Azhdaha let out a low rumble. "Then… watch closely."

"My friend… thank you."

Morax's expression hardened. He gathered a massive amount of elemental energy in his hands.

"Starshatter!"

The sky twisted, and a doomsday-like spectacle unfolded—a colossal meteor hurtled down from the heavens, its blinding radiance illuminating the entire land as it crashed toward Azhdaha.
