Chapter 547: Leaving [2]
"I want to see your face." Zhong Hua's shy voice echoed in the silent hall as a visible blush appeared on her face. It was merely because of her curiosity that she asked for such a thing.
"I didn't know that the miss of the Zhong family had a face fetish~" Zhong Hua trembled, hearing the chilling voice behind her.
Zhong Hua spun around, her eyes narrowing as she scanned the hallway. She recognized the chilling voice, and her body instinctively tensed. The figure that emerged from the shadows wore a sinister grin, his eyes glinting with malice.
"You!!" She turned around with her beet-red face as she realized the implication of those words, but her words got stuck in her throat when she saw who the speaker was.
The person before her was none other than the commentator who everyone had been talking about.
"Relax, Miss Zhong, no need to get so worked up," the man said, his tone mocking. "I was merely passing by and overheard your… request. Quite bold of you, I must say." His words were dripping with sarcasm, and Zhong Hua's expression darkened.
"Your name is about to be called on the stage. You should leave now." The man did not pay attention to her embarrassment and stared deep into her eyes.
Seeing Zhong Hua not moving, Noah placed his hand on her shoulder, a sigh escaping his mouth. "You should go. We will be meeting in the sect anyway. Someone will come to the Zhong family to take you away."
"... okay." After thinking about it, Zhong Hua nodded, "Goodbye."
With a last look, she ran away through the hallway towards the gate leading to the center of the arena.
Seeing her back disappearing, Noah shifted his gaze to the man standing before him. "Shall we leave now?"
The expression on the commentator's face changed as a white mask started to take form.
His body underwent a major change as if something was wriggling under his skin. But with a sharp noise, the body shattered like an illusion, and a beautiful woman stood in its place.
"Are you now interested in little girls, dear?" the white-haired beauty asked Noah with a smile on her face.
Noah knew better than to believe her expression. With a scoff, he replied, "In a way, you are also a little girl to me."
Xin Yan did not expect him to reply in such a way and could not find a word to retort to him.
"How old are you anyway?" Xin Yan could not help but ask as she moved to take his arm in her embrace.
"Dear?" Not getting any reply from him, she asked again with uncertainty, but she immediately felt shivers all over her body.
"Did you ask something, dear?"

"N...no!"
"Good." With a nod, Noah started walking once more. "As for your earlier question, I don't like her in the way you are imagining."
Almost instantly, a genuine smile blossomed on Xin Yan's face as she tightened her grip on his arm. 'Hehe~ I knew it; the girl is nowhere worthy of my Noah. Elysia was worrying me for no reason.'
"So are they already making a move?"
"Elysia told me that they have already started to make a move. They might ambush us outside the capital city." Noah's tone shifted to a more serious one as he explained the reason why he decided to leave early.
Xin Yan's eyes flashed with a cold glint as she knew what was about to come.
"The playtime is over. It's time to play in the big leagues." His cold voice echoed in the silent hall as Noah's figure was enveloped in darkness, his body converged like a shrinking ball along with the mature woman beside him before vanishing into nothingness, leaving behind a gust of fierce wind that moved across the hallway, followed by two thuds and a small pool of blood.
…
High up in the air, a flying artifact big enough to cover a small block of a city was flying. No, it was tearing through the air at a tremendous speed.
The flying artifact was similar to the one used for commercial purposes. One could see several rooms and storage units on the ship containing who knows what.
Inside one of these rooms was a woman dressed in a blood-red outfit, prostrating before a giant mirror. Her face was hidden behind the hair that fell over her head because of her posture.
"What's the progress of the mission you are on?" The woman trembled upon hearing a feminine voice coming from the mirror. She hadn't said anything the whole time, and only when she was asked something did she dare to open her mouth.
"Reporting to the respected general, we have found some clues about the Benevolent Guardian Sect. I am currently following the lead to take revenge on what they did to us before."
Even as she spoke, the woman did not dare to raise her head.
"Ho~ The Benevolent Guardian Sect? You should have told me before; I would have loved to carve those people myself."
Hearing the playful tone of the voice, the woman only trembled even more as if recalling a deep-rooted fear in her mind.
"Please forgive me for the oversight!" She begged in a pleading tone, hoping the man did not take offense. "Since it was merely a disciple we encountered, I thought of using him to get the information on the sect before informing you."
"How very bold of you~" The voice spoke up with the same playfulness, but the woman could feel herself unable to breathe as the voice seemed colder than before.
Cracckkk!
Fortunately for her, the sound of something breaking echoed in the room, breaking the heavy atmosphere.
"What?" A shocked exclamation escaped the woman's mouth as she found the source of the noise even without moving from her place.
"What is it?" Sensing the hint of impatience in the voice, she dared not to delay any longer and replied hurriedly.
"It looks like the two peak core formation level spies that were following the boy have died."
"How amusing~ It looks like the boy has someone powerful protecting him in the shadows." The voice immediately replied. "How many people have you taken to deal with him?"
"Replying to the general, excluding me, there are 5 Golden Core Realm followers, 30 Core Formation Realm fodders! I am confident that I can deal with the boy and get the information efficiently!"
