Chapter 548: General Amon.
**Cracckkk!**
"What is it?" As if sensing something was wrong from the woman's expression, the voice asked in an unhurried manner, as if nothing could shake his composure.

"It looks like the two peak Core Formation level spies that were following the boy have died," she replied with a hint of frustration and coldness in her voice, but her head remained down on the ground.
"How amusing~" the voice replied with a chuckle, "it's only natural that the boy has someone protecting him from the shadows. After all, from what you told me, that boy has quite the talent."
"Something even I feel envious of~" The woman trembled slightly, hearing the hint of desire in the voice. "But it's good that he will be used by the Lord; he is worthy to serve the Lord."
'If not for his eternal loyalty to the Lord, no one would even dare to keep him in the cult.' She could feel her body covered in cold sweat, sensing the man's odd quirks acting up.
"How many people have you taken to deal with him?"
"Replying to the General, excluding me, there are 5 Golden Core Realm followers and 30 Core Formation Realm fodders! I am confident that I can deal with the boy and get the information efficiently!" There was a hint of confidence in her voice; it was clear she was certain of her victory in completing her task.
"You seem very confident." The air in the room suddenly shifted just from the voice coming from the mirror.
The woman bit her lip, trying to steady her nerves. "General, I—" She wondered if she had said something wrong. 'Is he going to blame me for taking too many people? But since when did he care about the people under him?'
"Look at me, my little Captain Wei." The voice interrupted, suddenly icy and commanding. There was no warmth in the words, only a sharp edge that cut through the room like a blade.
Even though she was hesitant to raise her head, the woman did not let it show on her face.
She didn't want to look!
She would rather kneel with her head kissing the ground than look at the man before her.
But what could she do?!
The man had already asked her, and if she did not comply with his commands, she knew what was waiting for her.
Calming her mind and soul, the woman slowly raised her head. Her hair, which was spread on the ground, shifted and slid smoothly on her jade skin.
From the gaps between her hair strands, she could see the outline of the mirror as she rose. As soon as the scene on the mirror's surface appeared before her eyes, a wave of intense disgust flushed through her heart.
In the mirror was a man sitting on a throne; his appearance was sickly, as if he would collapse at any time. His face was hidden behind a cloth mask with a sun emblem.
The thing that disgusted Wei Rui was not his appearance but the throne he was sitting on. The seemingly jade throne with hints of red color may look beautiful, but she knew better than to let her eyes deceive her.
The throne was made by the man personally after he froze the bodies of the people who died at his hands, frozen in wax and other materials.
The fresh blood from those bodies gave the bloody red color to the throne.
Just like the throne, many other decorative materials around the man were made from similar things.
Even now, she could see several body parts lying around the man's feet as if they were some parts of puppets he was making.
The sight not only disgusted her but also scared her at the same time. Her blood ran cold as she knew those 'treasures' were a testament to the fate of those the man deemed incompetent to serve their Lord.
That was the kind of person before her—one of the few generals of the Red Dawn Cult.
General Amon!
"...g... general A..." Even with her head raised, Wei Rui did not dare to look into the man's eyes. Her voice trembled; she could feel her throat being gripped by fear.
The man tilted his head to lean on the hand that was placed on the throne, causing the cloth in front of his face to shift a little and reveal a cold smirk.
"My little Captain, you seem scared? What happened?" The smirk on the man's face widened as he felt the fear radiating from the woman.
Wei Rui swallowed hard, trying to summon the courage to speak, but the words wouldn't come. The figure took a step closer, and the air around her grew colder, almost suffocating.
"To take such a squad to deal with a mere Core Formation Realm brat who is accompanied by a supposed elder." General Amon remained indifferent to her reaction and asked coldly. As if seeing through her thoughts, he added, "Even though those people are nothing but numbers under me, they are precious material. If you are taking them, make sure to bring results worth their value, or don't even dare to come back at all, or I will use you as the material."
Wei Rui's heart pounded in her chest, each beat echoing in her ears like a drum. She forcefully gulped the fear down her throat. "Y-yes, General!"
"Now," the voice continued, pulling back slightly, though the coldness lingered in the air, "complete your task. Prove that you are not as worthless as you appear to be. Or you will suffer the consequences."
With that, the man waved his hand, and his image disappeared from the mirror, causing the invisible pressure on Wei Rui to disappear, which made her collapse to the ground.
After she was left alone in the room, Wei Rui relaxed, her breath ragged and her body still shaking from the remaining presence of the man in the room.
Looking at her own haggard appearance, Wei Rui's eyes shone with nothing but determination.
Even though she wanted to hate and kill the General, she knew they both served the same Lord, and their eternal loyalty made her unable to act against someone who could be used by their Lord.
Rearranging her appearance, the woman regained her previous prideful appearance and cold aura before walking out of the room. At the same time, she did not forget to wear her own mask, which was of a slightly different color from the one the General was wearing.
Outside the room stood two guards beside her room, guarding the entrance. Wei Rui did not have to worry about them listening in on her conversation because of the presence of an isolation array around her room.
Walking out with steady steps, a cold determination settling over her features, she said, "Prepare the ambush. We'll take him down tonight. No mistakes, no survivors."
Her followers nodded in unison, their expressions remaining indifferent as they followed the woman to the deck of the ship.

Back in the capital city of the Feng Empire, Noah and Xin Yan appeared on the slightly empty streets. Since such a big event was going on, most people were naturally inside the arena watching it live.
"Should we wait for them here or make our move?" Just as the two of them were walking calmly, the air beside Noah twisted as the figure of an ethereal woman appeared out of nowhere, walking along with his steps.
This was none other than Elysia, who had been watching everything from the start and even made some moves while Noah took his revenge against Long Xiang.
While speaking, she glanced at Xin Yan, who was walking beside Noah. Seeing the genuine smile on her face devoid of the previous weight of bonds, she narrowed her eyes dangerously. 'Now that her problem is resolved, this bitch won't stop at anything to make a move on Noah.'
As if feeling her gaze, the smile on Xin Yan's face widened, and her hands moved to hold Noah's arm intimately.
'This bitch! To think I helped this woman just a few minutes ago.' Elysia's cheeks puffed up, but her hands also moved, and Noah's other arm was held.
Ignoring the hidden battle going on between the two women, Noah continued to walk, a satisfied smile tugging on his lips. "Let's take the party to them; it's taking too long."
Still in his disguise, Noah raised his head, his gaze seeming to pierce through the air, ignoring any obstacles in their path, and landed on a huge flying ship standing in the air a couple of miles away from the capital city, waiting for him to leave the area.
'I wonder why they are so sure that I would go in this direction.' Noah thought in amusement as his gaze landed on a tall, mature woman standing on the edge of the ship, looking in the direction of the capital city with her face covered in a familiar mask.
"Let's go, I want to return to the sect as soon as possible." Noah's lips curled up behind the mask.
Receiving approval in the form of a menacing grin from his companions, he disappeared with them once more and reappeared before the woman instantly, startling her in the process.
"I will have fun ending what I couldn't before," Noah exclaimed calmly, looking down at the startled group of cultists.
