Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The Vision of Job Change, I Will Not Lose to You

After Jack stepped down from the magic circle, his usual close friends rushed to comfort him.

"Don't worry, Jack!"

Then, another name was called.

"Zhang Li!"

Zhang Li trotted excitedly into the magic circle. A moment later, the magic circle emitted its brilliant light.

[Life Occupation: Chef]

Zhang Li beamed with satisfaction. "My father is a chef. I didn't expect I'd also become one! This is like inheriting his legacy."

People in the crowd began murmuring.

"Not bad. A chef is a decent life occupation."

"Yeah, chefs can get rich easily. Master chefs are highly sought after."

The ceremony continued.

"Hang Wen!"

"Big Bull!"

One after another, students stepped into the circle. The majority received life occupations, while some were assigned auxiliary roles. However, the highly coveted main combat professions remained scarce.

David, the school principal, frowned as he observed the results so far. Next to him stood Master Kong, the formation master responsible for running the transfer ceremony.

"The students this year are mediocre," Master Kong commented indifferently, keeping his gaze on the magic circle.

David sighed, clearly disappointed. "It seems so. Not a single rare job has appeared yet."

Master Kong scoffed. "A rare occupation? Your school hasn't seen one in years. You'd do well to hope for just a high-tier main combat job this year."

David chuckled bitterly. "You're not wrong. Rare professions are like miracles these days, even in Xihai City."

Then, a name rang out across the playground.

"Jeny!"

Jeny stood, her confident demeanor catching everyone's attention. She walked gracefully toward the magic circle, but before stepping in, she glanced back at Marsh with a glint of provocation in her eyes.

The two were the top students of Xihai No. 1 Middle School, known for their academic excellence. But while Marsh always claimed the top spot, Jeny had always been a close second. Her competitive spirit burned brightly, and she was determined to prove herself superior today.

Marsh remained unfazed, his face calm and composed, ignoring her challenging glare.

"Hmph! Just watch. I'll show you who the real genius is," Jeny muttered under her breath.

As she entered the circle, her confident stride resembled that of a proud swan.

For the first time, Master Kong opened his eyes and glanced at Jeny. "This girl is impressive," he remarked.

David perked up, curious. "What do you mean, Master Kong?"

"Her mental strength is twice that of an ordinary person. If I'm not mistaken, she's likely to become a mage."

David's eyes widened. "A mage! That's wonderful news!"

Mage jobs belonged to the high-tier main combat professions, known for their devastating power and versatility. It was exactly the kind of result David had been praying for.

The magic circle began to glow brightly, and two enormous fireballs suddenly rose into the sky, exploding like fireworks.

"A phenomenon! This is definitely a rare class!" David exclaimed, barely able to contain his excitement.

[Main Combat Rare Occupation: Elemental Mage]

The crowd erupted in gasps and cheers.

"Wow! Jeny got a rare main combat class!"

"Elemental Mage? That's insane. Their destructive power is legendary!"

"They say that a top-level Elemental Mage can annihilate an entire city with a single forbidden spell."

Jeny walked down from the magic circle with a triumphant smile. She was the center of attention as her classmates swarmed around her with admiration and congratulations.

Master Kong nodded approvingly. "You're quite talented, young lady."

Jeny bowed respectfully. "Thank you, Master Kong."

David's face was glowing with pride, his earlier worries forgotten. The school hadn't produced a rare main combat class in years, and now Jeny had broken that streak.

As the excitement simmered down, David called out the next name.

"Marsh!"

Marsh calmly rose from his seat and walked toward the magic circle.

Jeny's gaze followed him, her confidence faltering slightly. A wave of unease crept into her mind.

"Master Kong," David whispered, "what do you think of him? He's our top student."

Master Kong glanced at Marsh briefly. "He's calm and composed. But other than that, I don't sense anything extraordinary."

David frowned. "But he's the school's best student!"

Master Kong shrugged. "Academics and job transfers don't always correlate. You should know this better than anyone."

The magic circle began its activation process as Marsh stepped into it. Suddenly, the atmosphere shifted dramatically.

The once-clear sky darkened within seconds, as if night had fallen. Thick, ominous clouds gathered overhead, and an icy wind swept across the playground. The temperature plummeted sharply, sending shivers through the crowd.

"What's happening?"

"Why is it so dark all of a sudden?"

"Is it going to rain?"

David's heart raced as he turned to Master Kong. "What's going on? Is this… another phenomenon?"

Master Kong's expression was unusually serious. "This is no ordinary phenomenon. This is something far beyond the usual job transfer."

The students were equally stunned, their excitement turning into awe and confusion.

"What kind of job transfer is this?"

"It's way bigger than Jeny's fireball display!"

Jeny clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms. She couldn't believe what she was seeing.

"Impossible! I refuse to lose to him!" she whispered fiercely.

The magic circle glowed brighter and brighter, the light now a mix of eerie purples and blues. Thunder rumbled in the distance, and the wind howled louder. It was as if the world itself was reacting to Marsh's job transfer.

Everyone held their breath, waiting to see what kind of job Marsh would receive.
