Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Dynasty Guild, Goblin King Ring

Marsh sat meditating, with his skeleton warriors standing guard by his side.

There were more than a hundred people at the entrance of the dungeon, but no one dared to approach Marsh. The main reason was his skeleton warriors— they were too terrifying. Just the sight of them was enough to send a chill down anyone's spine.

This suited Marsh just fine. No one bothered him, and he could focus on waiting for the 12-hour dungeon cooldown to pass. His mental strength was gradually restoring, and he would be able to summon his skeleton warriors again once the cooldown ended.

As night fell, Marsh finished his meditation, and his mental power was nearly restored. Around the entrance of the dungeon, several bonfires had been lit, and many people gathered around them, roasting meat. The aroma of the sizzling meat filled the air, intensifying as seasonings were added.

These people were seasoned adventurers, well-prepared for their trips into the field. Unlike Marsh, who only had a few sweet potatoes with him, they had full meals. Marsh's stomach growled, and he reached for the sweet potatoes, only to realize they were all given to Ning Yiyi earlier. He smiled a little at the thought of her playful and cute face.

Instead of sweet potatoes, Marsh took out a steamed bun and began eating it.

"Hey, brother, do you want to join us for some food?" a voice called out from the bonfire. A young man in his 20s waved at him. Judging by his attire, he seemed like an assistant.

Marsh shook his head politely, declining the offer. The young man didn't insist and continued enjoying the barbecue with his group.

"Why'd you call him over?" one of the group members asked, watching the young man approach Marsh.

"Yeah, I don't get it either," another voice chimed in. "That guy looks like a weirdo. He hasn't said a word since he got here."

Wang Yi, the first man who had waved to Marsh, spoke up. "I don't think he's weird. He doesn't speak much, but he hasn't caused any trouble either. Look at him—he's not as hard to deal with as you think."

Wang Yi cut a large piece of meat from the grill and approached Marsh, smiling warmly. "Brother, have a piece of meat instead of just eating buns," he said kindly.

Marsh looked at him, but didn't reply. Wang Yi smiled even more kindly, placing the plate of meat in front of Marsh before leaving.

Under his detection skill, Marsh confirmed that the meat was safe to eat, so he picked up a piece and took a bite. It was delicious—savory and full of flavor.

Not far away, Wang Yi also sat down with his own plate of meat, his sunny smile on his face. Marsh couldn't help but notice the resemblance between Wang Yi's smile and that of Kevin.

After satisfying his hunger, Marsh returned to meditation. With his skeleton warriors standing guard, he felt safe and secure.

The 12-hour dungeon cooldown eventually passed, and Marsh's mental power was fully restored.

"This time, I should be able to reach level 13," he thought.

He got up and walked toward the entrance of the dungeon, where a crowd had gathered. Two groups were facing off against each other. One group stood at the entrance, completely blocking it, preventing anyone from getting in. They were dressed in uniforms and held sophisticated weapons, looking like an organized force.

The opposing group consisted of adventurers who had been waiting outside the dungeon. Though numerous, they seemed disorganized compared to the other group.

"Your Dynasty Guild is too domineering!" one of the adventurers shouted. "Why can't we enter the dungeon?"

"That's right! Why can't we? It won't affect you if we enter," another voice protested.

A mage from the Dynasty Guild stepped forward, holding a staff. "Our young president is completing a mission in the dungeon, and you are not allowed to enter until he's finished," he announced coldly.

The adventurers were furious, but they didn't dare act out. The Dynasty Guild was too powerful to provoke.

Wang Yi was among the crowd protesting. His usual sunny smile was gone, replaced by anger and frustration.

Marsh walked over and stood beside him. "What's going on?" he asked.

Wang Yi turned in surprise. He didn't expect Marsh to speak. "The young president of the Dynasty Guild is completing a task in the dungeon, so they won't let anyone else in until he's done," Wang Yi explained quietly.

Marsh raised an eyebrow. "What kind of task would require blocking the dungeon entrance?"

Wang Yi sighed, "The Dynasty Guild needs the Goblin King's crystal core. The drop rate for that crystal core is very low, and it only drops in nightmare-level dungeons. It's a rare item—one that only appears once every 100 days."

Marsh's eyes widened. The Goblin King's crystal core that he had been carrying in his storage was as radiant as a ruby. He hadn't realized its significance, but it seemed it was more valuable than he thought.

"You probably saw the mission in the exchange, right?" Wang Yi continued. "It was issued by the Dynasty Guild, but no one has managed to complete it yet. The Goblin King's crystal core is worth at least 300,000 gold coins, but they're offering only 100,000 for it. Who would sell it to them?"

Wang Yi paused. "It's been exactly 100 days since the last drop, and the Dynasty Guild is determined to get it this time."

Marsh thought for a moment. The situation seemed like a strange coincidence. His Goblin King's crystal core was now even more valuable than before, especially given the Dynasty Guild's obsession with it.

"Why do they need it so badly?" Marsh asked.

"The crystal core can be processed by an alchemist to make the Goblin King's Ring," Wang Yi replied. "This ring increases all attributes by 10 and upgrades all skills by one level. It's usable at level 15, and it's considered the best jewelry for players below level 40."

Marsh nodded. The ring's attributes were undeniably powerful, especially with the skill upgrades. For new adventurers, it would be like a godsend.

Wang Yi went on, "It's said that the Dynasty Guild's young president is about to enroll at Xia Jing Academy. That's why he's so desperate to get the Goblin King's Ring."

Marsh's interest peaked. He had no intention of getting involved with the Dynasty Guild, but this information could be useful.

"The Dynasty Guild has plenty of alchemists and other materials, but the Goblin King's crystal core is the final piece they're missing," Wang Yi concluded.

Marsh smiled to himself, a plan beginning to form in his mind. The Dynasty Guild might be blocking the dungeon entrance, but that wasn't going to stop him from getting what he wanted. He wasn't concerned about their mission—after all, he had his own goals to achieve.

With that thought in mind, Marsh walked past the crowd and headed straight for the entrance of the dungeon, ignoring the Dynasty Guild's obstruction.
