"Everyone, close the doors!" Yu Dong shouted. She turned to look at the women who were coming out of their houses and said, "Go and bring your weapons. No one is allowed to sleep tonight!"

The people in the village were worried and anxious. Some people immediately rushed to bring the weapons that were kept inside their house while some hesitated before gritting their teeth and asking their families to stay inside. They couldn't let their families be harmed by this tragedy.

The children in the village were also scared. Some burst out in tears while some screamed.

"It's so terrifying!"

"They are crying for help!"

"People are crying…. Wuwuuwu!" The children cried together as they huddled in the arms of their mer daddies.

Village Head Gu's face turned dark. She knew this was going to happen, and because of this she had sent word to the Black Pot Village that they shouldn't shelter those people but it seemed like they did not hear a word that she said to them.

"This should be caused by those two people who were brought by Yu Linyun, right?"

"Terrible! If not for Miss Dong, Yu Linyun would have caused all of us to die tonight! She is too vindictive!"

"I hope those people won't come to our village. Our village is the closest to Black Pot!"

Everyone in the village was worried, they all looked at the burning fire that was rising higher and higher in the sky. Thick black smoke wafted in the air and soon the smell of human flesh being burned started to spread all over the place.

"What a tragedy!" Old Madam Yu covered her face as she did not wish to smell the scent of burning flesh.

The atmosphere in the village was solemn. When Yu Dong ordered the gates to be closed the mammies were pushing the large iron gates, but then ——-

"Don't, don't! Don't close the door yet!" As soon as they closed the gates, they heard the voice of Yu Linyun.

"Stop! That's my daughter!" Old Master Tong was worried about his daughter ever since he found out that the Black Pot Village was on fire. Now that he saw her return, his heart that was hanging finally settled down.

Yu Linyun was barefoot and her hair was dishevelled, she was also crying loudly. Why wouldn't she cry? She almost died!

"Don't close the gate! Don't leave me behind!" Yu Linyun's face was dark with smoke and as she screamed her bright white teeth shone vividly in the dark.

The mammies turned to look at Yu Dong who curled her lips in a sneer. She did not want this woman to come inside but she had already run all the way to the village, there was no point in leaving her behind so she nodded her head and let her come inside.

Once Yu Linyun stumbled inside, the mammies closed the door behind her. They all looked at Yu Linyun who was on her fours and was panting heavily.

"Are the bandits in the Black Pot Village grabbing food?" Village Head Gu asked. She couldn't understand why the bandits had to set the entire village on fire just because they were there to grab food.

Yu Linyun heard Village Head Gu's words and she shuddered. She shook her head and said, "I was a fool. Those people lied to me! The bandits…they are not grabbing food…they seemed to be looking for someone…and they are setting fire to the village and killing people."

"Daddy, they killed grandfather…uncle and aunts… even grandma's head was chopped off her body. They have set fire to the village, the whole village is burning and no one escaped. Only very few people were able to run away. If I didn't know that there was a secret path to return home, I would have been burned to death as well."

Old Master Tong fell to the ground with a pale expression.

His father was dead?

His mother and sister were also dead.

The villagers shivered and wished they could tear Yu Linyun apart. They all looked at Yu Dong with admiration-filled gazes.

However, Yu Dong did not look at the villagers. She questioned Yu Linyun coldly, "Did you make a round around the other villages and then come back or did you run straight back?"

Her expression was cold as she spoke.

Yu Linyun who was crying bitterly pursed her lips and did not speak. She was in a hurry to save her life how could she think of going around the villages and then coming back?

When Village Head Gu saw that Yu Linyun came straight to the village, she was so angry that she took off her shoe and threw it at Yu Linyun.
