Chapter 37: A Deal with the Devil
Kino solemnly said, "No, in the future, you will sacrifice yourself to save humanity. You will only go to heaven."
Hearing about the way he would die, Coulson was momentarily stunned before saying, "...Then I am truly honored."
A complex emotion flashed through his eyes—there was contemplation about his unknown fate, surprise at Kino's evaluation, and a hint of comfort.
Kino smiled slightly. "So, I want to intercept you. How about making a deal with this Demon King?"
"What kind of deal?" Coulson asked curiously.
"After your first death, your soul will belong to me, and you will serve me. In return, I will answer one question for you."
First death? Will I experience multiple deaths in the future? Coulson couldn't help but sigh at how troublesome his life seemed to be.
"Any question?"
"That's right. There are very few things in this world that I don't know. As a free bonus, I'll tell you something—Captain America is still alive." Kino placed a parchment on the table.
Captain America! Hearing that his idol was not dead, Coulson's face was filled with disbelief and excitement.
His heartbeat involuntarily quickened. The news that Captain America was still alive was simply too shocking for him.
His gaze was fixed on the parchment. Should he really sell his soul?
While Coulson was struggling with his decision, Frank led a group of people driving three heavy trucks through the vortex gate, followed by the manor's chefs.
Taking a deep breath, Coulson finally agreed to the deal. He resolutely placed his hand on the parchment, which instantly ignited in a raging flame, leaving a mysterious black mark on his palm.
"So, what do you want to ask? Captain America's whereabouts, how Nick Fury lost his eye, your cause of death, or the future crises Earth will face?" Kino teased.
"...I want to ask, how did you obtain this Hell?"
Coulson had already noticed that Kino seemed unfamiliar with Hell, as if he had only recently become its ruler.
"You're courting death!"
Xi's eyes flashed with intense killing intent, as if he was ready to act at any moment.
Pamela manipulated vines that sprouted instantly beside Coulson, their sharp tips aimed at his heart, ready to strike.
Venom, though a bit surprised, remained calm and continued sitting on Kino's lap.
Banner watched the scene unfold, wondering if he should step back to avoid being caught in the crossfire.
Coulson, however, stared intently at Kino, showing no sign of retreat or fear.
Kino gently pinched Pamela's soft waist and said, "Relax, everyone. This isn't really a secret."
He turned to Coulson and answered, "This Hell was a gift from Lucifer Morningstar as a token of appreciation."
Hearing the name "Lucifer Morningstar," everyone present was taken aback. Coulson, in particular, looked extremely serious.
Satan!
Banner curiously asked, "Young Master, what does Satan look like?"
"Hmm... a very beautiful woman."
As Kino spoke, an image of Lucifer appeared in his mind. Having tasted the pleasures of the flesh, he couldn't help but feel a bit stirred at the thought of Lucifer's appearance.
"Satan is a woman?!" Banner exclaimed in shock.
"This guy almost slept with Satan," Venom remarked.
Feeling a slight movement on his lap, Venom rolled his eyes and used his body to shield Kino from embarrassment.
"Didn't I reject her?" Kino said helplessly.
"And then, my dear, you chose me instead." Pamela hugged Kino and kissed him.
"By the way, you all should avoid saying Lucifer's name too often. She can hear it, and she may not be as easygoing as I am."
Suddenly, a pale, delicate hand emerged from the void and delivered a sharp flick to Kino's forehead.
With a loud "thud," Kino's head jerked back, and his mind went blank. A dazed expression took over his face as he struggled to process what had just happened.
"Ah! My dear!"
Banner and the others instinctively covered their mouths, their eyes widening in shock. Despite their efforts to hold back, it was obvious they were stunned by what had just happened.
She really heard it!
Xi quickly lowered his head, his body trembling slightly, not daring to look any further.
"That's what you get for running your mouth."
Venom sighed helplessly, slipping off Kino's lap and carefully placing his head on his own thigh.
Pamela, full of concern, gently caressed Kino's forehead, her eyes filled with worry and affection.
Lucifer withdrew her hand from the void. Originally, she had intended to check why this little guy was calling her, only to find out they were gossiping about her. Not only that, but they had also called her petty.
"Alright, let's move on."
Lucifer's gaze turned cold as she looked at the celestial beings before her. The gods of this world—time to conduct some research.
Explorers fled toward the stars without looking back.
It took Kino quite some time to recover from the flick's impact. He sat up, rubbing his forehead with a helpless smile.
"Well, that was..." Kino shook his head and looked at everyone. "We should really avoid mentioning her name too casually in the future."
Coulson was still shaken. He hadn't expected Satan to so easily hear their conversation and take action in response.
Meanwhile, the manor's chefs had started cooking. The sounds of clattering pots and pans mixed with the sizzling of ingredients frying in the pan. Before long, the delicious aroma of food filled the square, making mouths water.
All the demons unconsciously began to drool as they stared intently at the chefs' hands, eyes brimming with desire.
As for the chefs, cold sweat dripped from their faces. Despite their trembling bodies, their hands never stopped moving.
Why did they agree to come? The answer was simple—Frank had paid them a lot of money.
"Hold steady, stay calm. Once we finish cooking, each of us gets fifty thousand dollars."
The head chef whispered to his colleague, who nodded repeatedly, his movements steadying under the influence of financial motivation.
Kino stood up and loudly announced, "Today marks my first day in Hell. To celebrate, I'll treat all demons to a feast! Line up properly—everything except humans is on the menu!"
His voice echoed across the square. The demons were momentarily stunned before erupting into excited cheers.
"Amazing!"
They immediately started rushing to form a line. Some pushed their companions aside, while others tried to squeeze ahead, causing complete chaos.
Kino frowned and shouted, "Stay in line! Anyone who disobeys won't get to eat!"
With that, the demons finally calmed down, obediently queuing up while their eyes remained fixated on the cooking food, their mouths still dripping with drool.
"True power is not given; it is earned through trials, choices, and sacrifices."
