Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Take a Walk Together
"Here, essential oil fragrances will not only make your hair smooth, but the special magical fragrance added will also make the opposite sex feel good about you. Don't worry, there are no banned substances, and they are sold legally with permission from the Ministry of Magic."
Perhaps Lavender felt that she had just wronged Hermione, so she took out her treasured essential oil fragrance and gave it to Hermione without hesitation.
…
About ten minutes later, Hermione was finally dressed up. At first glance, Hermione looked like she was not wearing any makeup, but she looked much better than usual. Her hair became smooth and her facial features became more delicate. Perhaps this was the top makeup technique for witches.
"Don't wear the outer wizarding robe, it will affect your look. Just keep the gray cashmere waistcoat and white shirt. Oh, I remember you have a pair of... that one? Yes, you can wear it, it will match your stockings perfectly."
Chief designer Parvati gave her suggestions on Hermione's outfit.
After hearing this, Hermione blushed and took out a pair of short black Martin boots from the suitcase under the bed. The height of the boots was just a little higher than the ankles, and their highlight was the hollow upper and the black fishnet-like shoe edge.
Hermione put on her boots with great effort and fastened the small metal buttons next to them. It turned out that Parvati had some taste in clothes. The black boots, white stockings, and the gray school uniform made her look delicate and charming.
"Okay, you can go now." Just as Hermione was about to leave the dormitory, Parvati reminded her again: "Seize the opportunity, this is a unique chance for you—try to win him over in one fell swoop."
Hermione's face suddenly turned red, and she said, embarrassed: "What are you talking about... Ian and I are just discussing the content of the Transfiguration class."
After saying that, Hermione walked out of the dormitory quickly without looking back, the soles of her boots hitting the floor, making a crisp knocking sound.
Parvati, who was standing behind her, smiled like an aunt, as if she were lamenting that her daughter had finally come to her senses...
…
On the other hand, Ian was now sitting in the Gryffindor common room and had been waiting for more than half an hour.
During this time, he also greeted many people, including Harry, Ron, and the Weasley twins, and chatted with them briefly. Just when Ian thought he had been stood up, Hermione finally showed up.
To be honest, Ian was indeed somewhat amazed by Hermione. The familiar girl in front of him was indeed very delicate and lovely after putting on light makeup.
"Let's go," Hermione said to Ian with her head down, a little embarrassed.
"Good!"
The two walked side by side through the corridor and out of the castle gate.
Today was a rare good day—sunny but not hot, and the sun felt warm on their bodies.
The two walked slowly on the lawn outside the castle. After a summer of growth, the one-foot-tall grass was lush but already a little withered.
Ian watched the grass brush against Hermione's white silk stockings, and suddenly an irrelevant line of ancient poetry flashed through his mind— A golden cup of wine costs ten thousand, a jade plate of delicacies costs ten thousand.
"Why did you suddenly want to take a walk outside the castle?" Hermione had returned to normal at this moment.
"Nothing, I just feel that we came to Hogwarts to learn magic, but magic is not everything to us. Maybe it's right to slow down the pace appropriately."
There was one thing Ian didn't actually say, which was that when he saw Hermione for the first time in the Gryffindor common room this morning, he had noticed the deep fatigue hidden in her eyes. Even though she put on light makeup afterward, she still couldn't hide that trace of exhaustion.
So Ian changed his mind at the last minute. The original plan of studying the contents of Professor McGonagall's notes together was changed to taking a walk instead.
"Here, I got it when I passed by the Great Hall just now." Knowing that Hermione hadn't had breakfast, Ian had grabbed a sandwich and a bottle of milk when he passed through the hall earlier.
Hermione took the food from Ian without hesitation, opened the sandwich, and took a small bite.
The sun was shining brightly, and the breeze was mild. The two of them walked and chatted, and soon they arrived at the Black Lake. A gust of wind blew, creating ripples on the lake's surface. Under the reflection of the blue sky, the Black Lake looked exceptionally beautiful and sparkling at this moment.
"This is the place," Ian pointed to a shaded area by the lake.
"Before, I foolishly thought that magic was everything, so I studied and practiced hard, but in the end, I found that the effect was not very obvious. Then one day, I suddenly didn't want to practice anymore, so I walked out of the castle alone. Sitting here, I figured it out—magic is life, and life is also magic. At that moment, I felt extremely free and relaxed."
Ian said as he led Hermione to sit under the shade of the tree, looking out at the Forbidden Forest in the distance while enjoying the cool autumn breeze. The wind carried waves of pleasant scents—perhaps the fragrance of flowers in the distance or something closer by...
"Hey, look over there." Hermione suddenly patted Ian's arm lightly and pointed at two figures in the distance.
Ian followed Hermione's slender fingertips and saw Malfoy and another Slytherin girl—Pansy Parkinson—walking out of the castle. The two of them were walking side by side in another direction.
An interesting scene could be seen from this angle: Pansy always seemed to want to hold Malfoy's hand, while the latter appeared somewhat resistant, shaking it off intentionally or unintentionally every time.
Such a funny scene was also seen clearly by Hermione, who stood next to him.
"Hahaha, it's hard to imagine that Malfoy would be shy!" The sight in front of her successfully amused Hermione, and the girl's silver-bell-like laughter suddenly rang out.
Fortunately, they were far enough away. Otherwise, the angry and embarrassed Malfoy would have definitely fought back, and then Ian might have had to take over old Malfoy's role in disciplining his troublesome son—though Ian sometimes really didn't like bullying children.
