Heartstrings And Espionages

You…will be gone, the day I fall completely for you…? If I did know this from the start, I would have halted myself from falling for you, Tangwen! You drive me crazy everytime I think it's time to end the loneliness and really start having a great future with you but all vanishes with your disappearance. I doubt if there was fault from my side or your side. I don't know whether to cry on the betrayal or laugh on memories that were clumsy enough.

You're really crazy! "Moon. Look at me." I looked at her and amazed… enough to hold back my tears. Before, I could hold her hand and ask something – two huge hands behind her and grabbed her shoulders. I doubt if they did hold her gently…

And then Harper appeared. I stayed quiet, only able to see her leave with Leen Ha-Kong and Harper. She was staring at me. The distance…between us ran bigger and bigger. I lowered my sight when I couldn't count on her presence anymore. …I no longer feel okay. I wasn't able to smile the way I used to smile with her. I know it goes the same with you too, Tang.

"...Moon?" I lifted my chin up filled with my tears. Forehead on aches and lips on chill. I doubt if I'm paralysed when I noticed my Mom at the entrance. All anxious and worked up. Baby hairs on her forehead, her jacket skid on one side, wandering eyes, shivering lips… and tears in her eyes. "M-Mom? Mom! –"

My Mom abruptly was about to collapse against the ground but nowhere a hand held her right in the air. I looked at that person and couldn't find a reason to ignore him.

"Let me hold my Mom…, Dillon." I said in a dull voice and forwarded my hand further to reach my Mom's shoulder but he all of a sudden took my Mom in his wide arms! Huh?!

"S-Son! What are you doing? I can walk." My Mom reacted.

"Let me take your responsibility for once, Mrs. Fowler. After all, I owe you a lot." He stated, carrying my Mom inside the house. He…looks so new to me. Responsibility? What made you think taking responsibility could bring everything to ease? One day, my Mom will come to know about everything. Everything that you did to my family, Dillon.

I doubt that will break your heart as she will never again address you "Son". Bear it, after all, you owe us. "I can take care of my Mom. You should check on the bride and groom –" He suddenly held my head and excused my Mom.

Dashed me outside of his house and halted. Turned towards me, passing a glance at the hand he was holding. He said, "Did Leen Ha-Kong send an invitation to you?" I just nodded and he sighed heavily, looking with those eyes. Is it any kind of different way to show sympathy?

"Moon. I don't know what's going on in your head but if there's anything I could do for you, let me know. I'll do whatever it's me too." He declared and I flashed in hope. Hope – to bring her back and end this drama right away. Yet with a doubt, I finally opened my mouth.

"Then, stop this wedding, Dillon." I got triggered and began wailing while expressing my concern towards Tangwen. "Bring her back to me, Dillon. Stop her, please. I…really need her. I can't imagine myself without her. Dillon, do something." I clenched his collar and was sobbing thinking that I could never love her again. She's getting another house's daughter-in-law when I dreamed she could be in my house some day! Bliss and cherish.

He held my arms and kept me closer to his heartbeat. Patting my back, he gave his statement.

"... I'm sorry, Moon. I can do anything, not that. It isn't my sole decision. This is how she wants to end her love story, her memories and dreams. I couldn't believe this. The person who loved you from her whole heart does wanna end everything when her loved one starts loving her the way she used to. I don't know what to call this formidable story."

I moved from his body and looked into his eyes. He was filled with awe. He gave me a bitter smile and touched my freezed face with his warm hand. I jolted but then adopted it. Our eyes met and he said politely,

"It's ok to let them go sometimes. It's ok to not be ok sometimes, Moon. Everything will get normal. Don't cry…, strong spirits don't cry."

I crouched down and buried my face in my palms. Sobbed and took soft gasps whenever my mind repeated her words and his statements. Both…are worse. He patted my shoulder and let my head hid in his warm arms. Why…why doesn't it feel comfortable anymore? Everything feels so new…and uncomfortable. I'm not an easy adopter, y'know.

"There, there. It's alright, Moon." He said. I immediately sniffled and gave a stern look mixed with doubts at him. "Man, why are you helping me out of the blue?" I said. He cleared his throat and gave his statement as usual.

"I don't think helping a person is any crime, Moon Fowler." Teasing me? You're gonna pay for that, Man. "For foes, it does." I said and made my stand.

"Foes? We? From when, Moon.? I do remember that I apologised to you and you forgave me as well. Forgotten already?" He exclaimed.

I raised my brow and scrutinised his whole body. "Aah, fine! I did but as you're a part of her decision to get married to that lunatic Leen Ha-Kong – you're my adversary!" I told him strongly and gave a stern, angry face. He rolled his eyes and held my arms.

"Moon, that's outlaw." The hell! I gave a death glare when he thought he cleared everything. "Ok. I-It's not. Moon, believe me. I wasn't a part of her decision. I agree that I said her to be a close alliance to Aunt Harper and Leen Ha-Kong but I never forced her to marry him. Never I did, Moon. Trust me!" He exclaimed.

Really? I don't think any members of the Alfie family are trustworthy. I had experienced it. I criss-crossed my hands and glared at him. Looking at my stiff posture, he sighed sharply.

"Are you listening to me, Moon?" A-Aah! What the hell! He suddenly started jerking me. Man, you're gonna bury me alive! "Dillon. You're gonna break my shoulders!" I screened and shoved his hands away. He stayed quiet for a moment when I was falling to the edge of guilt. I shouldn't have behaved like that…

All of a sudden, I was filled with guilt. It was suffocating me! I…I wanna knock it off! I immediately stepped forward and held his hand. "Dillon. I'm sorry… I really shouldn't have behaved that way. Don't be mute, no." Dang! He suddenly started shivering! Is he sobbing? Did I behave that badly?! Dang it, dang it!

"Hahah!" Huh? "That face, damn it! "I'm sorry… I really shouldn't have behaved like that" whoa, hilarious, Moon!" Dare, you tried to mimic my words! I showed concern and you are making fun of me! You, bastard! "Tch! Bastard!" For real, I shoved him away!

"I. Hate. You." I mouthed the words and turned around to walk away. But – "Hey. What you think you're doing." I was pulled into his arms! So…huge. I couldn't believe how large and toned his chest was. Probably, that warmth I'm adventuring right now is not less than a hell. Butterflies in my stomach are doing disco dance! Man, this feeling is horrible and… incredible too but why?

And the hell I'm imagining this whole new romantic drama with my girlfriend's Brother! Horrible! I can't even imagine a peaceful day if my girlfriend finds us together! I don't mean it in the wrong way!

I immediately tried to get away from his warmth but that was a futile attempt. He held me in his arms tighter than before. "What – ?" Before I could keep a full stop. His hands ran down to my waist from my shoulders. His chin reached onto my shoulders and he whispered, running down goosebumps in my spine.

"Stay here a bit longer. I should cool you down, won't it?" Damn… his breath makes me breathless! I couldn't make a move. It's like I'm freezed forever in his grip. He sent a gentle breath over my neck, leaving my behind neck wholly ruddy!

What the hell is wrong with me? I intentionally pulled my head down in embarrassment. Dang it! I could hear his soft chuckle. Aah, I'm wholly embarrassed today! I wanna get rid of myself!

"Moon, you look incredible when you blush harder." Damn you, Dillon. You're distracting my goal! I immediately turned to him and gasped when I saw his face damn close to mine. Praising myself for not moving my face too close to him otherwise my lips would've touched his! There will be no more embarrassing moment than this in my entire life!

"Moon. You're looking so beautiful today." He whispered.

When he moved his face closer to mine, I sent my neck back. My neck nerves popped out but a glance on his Adam's apple made me gulp. He… Is he seducing me? Or do I? Please… please don't kiss! I'm at your place, surrounded by your people especially Tangwen, My Girlfriend. I-I don't wanna die young. DILLON!

"Dillon. I don't –" I couldn't complete it as he laid his index finger on my lips and I gulped the reality. "Shhh! No noise." He whispered. But what for? Are we in a crowd to whisper?

His lips gradually formed into a pretty smile. And HE MOVED FURTHER! I need to protect myself! I immediately turned my face aside. So, do not face his lips. But –

I was freezed forever when his wet lips touched my ear. I shivered terribly. Looking at my situation, he released a soft chuckle. Shocked, I looked at him with a blank face. He said nothing but held my neck gently and MUNCHED ON MY EAR! W-What is he doing? I was wholly left with goosebumps and awestruck.

A-Am I trembling? I touched his chest with my trembling hands and tried to break him out. The hell, he is made up of bricks! Not even an inch could I move!

"I'm not as easy as my sister, Moon Fowler." He whispered and gave a gentle smooch on my ear. He made eye contact with me and smiled. "Let's get ready. The ceremony is gonna start soon." He said and released me. He winked at me and walked away. Aah – I jolted. I understand why Tangwen is a total weirdo and clumsy. Dillon doesn't look but he does have a lot of shades kept hidden behind his veil. My god!

I turned around and immediately rushed inside. I felt so relieved when I found my Mom resting peacefully. I don't know what happened before reaching out to me but I doubt there's a lot to hear from Mom today. And… How did she know that I would be here? I need to give a call to Uncle Ren. Maybe he might know something.
