I Left my Cheating Husband and Married a Beast

chapter 24

Chapter 24

Andria hadn’t been able to sleep properly for the past few days because of the disappearance of a notebook, which had been taken by an employee.

Andria confronted the staff member but couldn’t get any answers.

Then she remembered Andria, the person who had designed everything, and thought she could ask her to recreate the design.

But when Andria went to the basement, she found it empty.

She quickly went to see the manager. “Have you seen Andria? She’s gone.”

“She’s gone?”

“When was the last time you brought her a meal?”

“I think it was two days ago,” the manager replied.

That meant Andria had disappeared along with the notebook two days ago.

Andria’s mind went blank. There was nothing she could do. After the designer who adopted the twins died, Andria erased Andria from this world.

Andria had been reported dead years ago, so it was impossible to publicly search for her. But then Andria had a change of heart.

“No, no. I don’t need Andria. Why can’t I do what she could do?”

Andria had taken everything from Andria over the last ten years and believed her skills were now her own.

So, she began to work on a design, remembering the rough idea of a new dress she had seen.

However, the real problem was Andria herself.

“Why… why…?”

Andria stood in the middle of her ruined workshop, muttering to herself.

Despite spending the whole day working, the dress she had made was far inferior to Andria’s designs.

She trembled as she faced her true skills, which were even worse than the ones she had belittled in the past.

“No, no! This isn’t my skill!”

She grabbed scissors and started tearing the dress apart. As she cut, her hand got injured, and blood dripped onto the ruined dress.

She breathed heavily, muttering,

“Andria stole my skills… There’s no way this is my real talent.”

She took a deep breath and started again, covering the mannequin with a cloth.

“If I do it again, it will be different. If I do it right…”

Her eyes were empty as she murmured.

“Andria is completely losing control.”

Beloni told Andria about Andria’s current state.

“Ah… I see. It’s almost time to start making the dresses.”

Andria nodded after checking the time.

“The third ‘Society Scandal’ is coming out soon. I got it yesterday. Take a look.”

Beloni handed Andria the third “Society Scandal” after finishing some jewelry selection the day before.

This issue contained Andria’s story and a brief interview with her, as well as a picture of her making clothes.

Andria slowly read through the article, and various emotions passed across her face.

In the end, she felt bittersweet but also relieved.

“…Thank you so much, Your Grace.”

At first, she had been confused about Beloni’s offer. She couldn’t trust her easily, but Beloni’s sincere expression made Andria take the risk.

Andria realized that even if she had been deceived, it had been the right choice. She would have been stuck in that musty, dark basement making clothes until her death.

But Beloni had opened the door to the outside world for her.

“Without Your Grace, I would still be trapped in that basement, maybe until my death.”

At that, Beloni’s expression grew somber.

Indeed, Andria would have died there, but now she had escaped and was given a chance to live with her name.

“Now, you’re out of there. A new world is waiting for you.”

Andria finally smiled brightly.

“So, what are your plans now?”

“I’m going to take back Andria’s salon. It was mine to begin with.”

That was true. While Andria’s salon was famous for her high status, it was also known for the beautiful clothes she made.

“That salon was originally Andria’s, so it’s only right to take it back.”

“So, what do you want, Your Grace?”

This was a question Andria had been meaning to ask.

“I don’t need money. I just want the chance to live as ‘Andria.’”

It was true. Andria didn’t want money, just the chance to live as Andria.

“Oh, I’m going to be a duchess soon. Money won’t be an issue.”

Beloni said playfully, her eyes wide.

“But what I want is something more valuable.”

“If I can live under my name, I’ll give you my talent…”

“Of course, Andria’s talent is priceless. But that’s not what I want. I want information.”

Andria immediately understood what Beloni meant.

Andria’s salon was a place frequented by high-ranking nobles, and people exchanged valuable information there.

Andria didn’t care much about the information but would sometimes use rare pieces of it.

Andria, knowing how precious such information could be, agreed.

“Alright.”

She nodded without hesitation.

“It’s not difficult. I’m glad I can give you what you want.”

Beloni was relieved Andria didn’t ask what kind of information she wanted. Andria, being sharp, had already figured out that Beloni wanted something more than just simple information.

After Andria left, Beloni prepared to go out with Marina.

“Your Grace, are you sure about this? Maybe we should bring more knights with us?”

“I’m fine. Surely my father won’t do anything to me.”

As she said this, Beloni’s palm was damp with sweat.

They were heading to the Jerem Marquis’ residence.
