I Married the Beautiful Female Protagonist In Order To Survive

chapter 1118

57. Target: Northrend! (Seeking votes~)

With Kefier and Lansi securing our perimeter, the Queen and I scrubbed this long-abandoned courtyard back to a habitable state. After moving in, it fell to Lansi, freshly arrived from Northern Ireland and possessing no traceable ties, or myself, able to mask my presence with fae magic, to venture into the market at Glamorgan Keep for essential supplies.

After a few chaotic days, we finally settled in here.

Of course, for us, and especially for the Queen, this new life was a far cry from what we were accustomed to. No morning baths or showers; no “premium care”; and “servants” were a complete myth. When everyone was busy, we even had to fend for ourselves…

Simply put: aside from our spacious courtyard, easily accommodating four, everything else was the simple life of ordinary folk. Even when my script-given powers nudged me to do something for the Queen, she’d immediately refuse, saying: “Wasting your power now? Are you daft?”

Well, the Queen… seemed like the same Queen.

Naturally, we weren’t here to hide or “experience life.” Once the basics of living were settled, the investigation began immediately. We weren’t cowards, just cautious!

A few days later, now.

In the house that had acquired some semblance of “homeliness,” I gathered the three women. After the initial frantic days, the Queen, with the help of Kefier and Lansi, had regained her polished appearance. It then dawned on me: the Queen wasn’t lacking services, but money was absolutely not a problem.

I spoke first.

“These past few days, while gathering supplies, I’ve also wandered around Glamorgan Keep, inside and out. There’s nothing unusual about the new lord or the common folk. To put it simply: there’s no obvious ‘chaos’ within Glamorgan Keep.”

Of course, this wasn’t good news. Maybe it meant that, after consecutive “evolutions,” Fíriel’s influence on those around her had reached such precision that it didn’t affect anyone else. If so, the danger of this “chaos” was immense.

“So, we can safely assume that Fíriel’s goal is clear: a beeline straight for the royal capital of the Britannian Empire.”

Fíriel’s actions reminded me of the Order Fae – the Elf Saintess Isalris – from the era of the “White-Haired Elves.” Like her, Fíriel was heading straight for the center, seeking a suitable identity to influence “important figures” enough to change the era. It seemed Fíriel’s methods were similar to those of Order.

Only, the goal was the polar opposite. The Order Fae’s original intent was to maintain the White-Haired Elf era, but now, Fíriel’s goal…

The Queen stirred. Even without understanding the Order Fae, she sensed something ominous.

“Has there been anything strange happening in or around the royal capital lately?”

I shook my head. But this superficial answer didn’t make the Queen happy; rather… she frowned, her eyes narrowed with tension.

Because the fact that there’s nothing wrong with the Britannian Empire’s royal capital during our time hiding in Glamorgan Keep is the biggest problem: the Queen has been gone for a while now, yet the royal capital has given no sign of change. This means… Iris, the Moon Fae who looks exactly like Louise, has already taken the Queen’s place, which explains why everything within the capital seems: perfectly normal.

【Iris has assumed Louise’s identity!】

The script tells me this in the next moment. However, with the “chaos” evolving, the power of the “script” is insufficient to change anything, and… it’s difficult to draw any conclusions from this.

Because, if the Moon Fae is doing this merely to provide cover, it’s fine. But if… her replacing Louise is not to help, but serves some opposite purpose…

Then things would truly be dire. If the latter occurs, it must mean that the Moon Fae is also…

Tch, if “those people” inside the Britannian Empire’s royal capital descend into chaos, we won’t be facing a “multiplayer dungeon” but rather “nightmare survival!”

Because, now that the power of the script can’t change anything, some opponents who were once weaker than the script’s power will become terrifying again!

Just as I was about to comfort the Queen, some “unexpected” event occurred abruptly, as if timed to match content of the script.

Kefier, standing by, made a gesture, interrupting our conversation.

Then, lowering her voice, she drew Alsath from its sheath.

“Someone’s found us. Many presences, and they’re powerful.”

Almost without hesitation, the moment Kefier spoke, I glanced at the script.

【Moriarty had arrived, leading the British Empire Constabulary.】

I tamped down the complicated feelings churning within me, glancing at the Queen, who immediately met my gaze with a question.

“It’s Moriarty. She’s here with her Constabulary.”

Only silence answered me.

In the past, the Queen would likely have greeted Moriarty with open arms. After all, as one of the Queen’s most trusted subordinates, Professor Moriarty, Captain of the British Empire Constabulary, finding our trail so soon after we left Northern Ireland was hardly surprising; it was simply one of her “basic capabilities.”

But… it was precisely this “basic capability” that now left me utterly uncertain.

Because, in this moment, even my script couldn’t tell me what state Professor Moriarty was in. Was she well? Troubled? Normal? Deranged?

Had she come to retrieve us, or to offer guidance? Or was it… something else entirely that motivated her arrival?

Impossible to know, and even if we did, impossible to change! Perhaps, at this point, hiding the Queen and letting Kephiel and I deal with the Professor would provide us with more avenues for justification.

The Queen beside me seemed to be in the throes of hesitation as well, but…

I suppose that’s to be expected of the Queen, the girl I can’t even beat with a script. In the next instant, she took a deep breath…

The flustered expression vanished, replaced by a smile straight out of “Idol Mode.” She had slipped back into her “disguise,” and what that signified was self-evident.

“Why are you staring at me like that? Of course, we’ll see her! She’s Moriarty, after all~”

She paused, then added, “Besides, you’re here to protect me, aren’t you? Just like you told me last night, this might be ‘dangerous,’ but it’s also our opportunity. I’m about ready to be done with this ‘experiencing life’ business, anyway.”

(Philo’s Fairy Form has been updated; look back to previous chapters.)

(A new week! Don’t forget to give this book some votes and likes.

(As for why I didn’t mention it yesterday, I was just too tired. I forgot~The new book is getting double updates too, which is getting a little difficult.)
