I Married the Beautiful Female Protagonist In Order To Survive

chapter 1119

58. The Chaotic Professor

Time did not allow for much deliberation. Not long after the Queen resolved to stop hiding and meet the suddenly-appearing Moriarty, Captain of the British Empire Constabulary, commotion erupted outside the courtyard where we were staying.

Professor Moriarty had found us, although Kephiel’s initial assessment was slightly off: even though she should have arrived with the Constabulary, she had chosen to meet us alone.

【Moriarty is searching for Louis IV.】

The script appeared as quickly as ever, but its contents offered no clues to the Professor’s present state. In the next moment, a familiar, diminutive figure entered my line of sight. Professor Moriarty simply walked right in, straight and to the point.

“Finally found you, Your Majesty.”

We meet again, yet I couldn’t muster a single scrap of what you might call “reminiscing” when facing Professor Moriarty. After all, her intentions were simple and direct – to find the Queen. While this matched her character, still…

Something felt wrong.

“You notified our Intendance the moment you began preparations to leave Northern Ireland, I assumed you’d return directly. Preparations were made accordingly…”

Professor Moriarty removed her glasses as she spoke, her tone making it abundantly clear she wished to emphasize her concern for the Queen.

“Though, I must say, you possess an extraordinary amount of leisure, bringing them all the way to Glamorgan Castle to experience the common life?”

However, the Professor’s usual “banter” now sounded strangely “off.”

Her gaze swept over me and Kefier, lingered for a moment on Rance, and finally settled on the Queen, who maintained her disguise with a faint smile.

“In any case, I’ve located you. Your farm stay is nearing its end. There is much work awaiting your attention within the Great British Royal City. It’s time you returned with me, Your Majesty.”

[Moriarty wishes to bring Louise IV back.]

The script appeared, and yet… I found myself unable to “do anything.” The contents of the script only suggested Professor Moriarty wished the Queen to return. Given the current circumstances, it seemed “perfectly reasonable,” leaving no obvious flaw to exploit.

Could… nothing actually be wrong? As Professor Moriarty implied, perhaps the Great British Royal City merely harbors some “lurking danger,” and everyone is otherwise “normal.” Perhaps the Queen’s presence is required now to “guide the direction” as the Queen of Great Britain?

I hesitated. The idea of hiding in Glamorgan Castle originated with the Queen. I still harbored doubts about the situation in the Great British Royal City. Or rather… I wasn’t sure how far the “chaos” had spread, if it had spread at all. With the power of the “script” increasingly suppressed, I could only silently lament my powerlessness. Unable to glean information from the script, my current actions seemed unworthy of the Queen’s foresight.

Sensing my hesitation, perhaps, Moriarty spoke again.

This time, her aim was clearly to take a different tact!

“Furthermore, while it is your prerogative to enjoy a farm stay, those accompanying you might not share that enthusiasm… Therefore, it’s time you considered…”

“Euclid, are you unwilling to accompany me?”

The Queen’s gaze fell upon me, and that single look was all it took to solidify my resolve!

Ah, with the power of the “script” restricted, was I going to second guess the Queen’s judgement and trust my own pathetic strategies?

I… finally calmed down.

“How could I be? After all, we came here for a vacation. Professor Moriarty, are you so eager to take the Queen back because something has happened in the Royal City?”

And now, at this moment, I finally began to perceive the “issues” presented by Professor Moriarty – a stark contrast to her usual obedience to Louise. This time, her resolve was unnaturally firm.

The Great British Intendance is the Queen’s personal “direct organization.” In theory, the Queen’s command is absolute. Even if Professor Moriarty might offer “a word of advice,” it shouldn’t amount to this…

“Nothing of the sort. It has simply been too long since your last appearance. Allowing Lady Iris to impersonate you before the public is not a sustainable solution… particularly since you are so ‘unique’.”

And then, Professor Moriarty’s actions, her words…

All of it, under the Queen’s subtle guidance, began to reveal a hint of “disharmony.”

“Oh dear~That’s so troubling☆~ Moriarty, couldn’t you simply tell everyone that I am on vacation? I believe that in the current circumstances, a touch of honesty would not harm my image~ After all, the Royal City is so peaceful. Who wouldn’t want a little relaxation?”

“Your Majesty!”

Professor Moriarty lowered her voice. “Your position is not a game! This has gone on long enough! I spent a great deal of time leading the Intendance to find your location, and now that I have, you refuse to return!?”

“Oh~ I don’t want to~”

“…”

Professor Moriarty fell silent. I didn’t know what she planned to do next, but I knew that the Queen alone was not enough to face Moriarty here.

Some things had to be pointed out by me.

“Professor, even if the Queen rushes back, she’d still be handling affairs of state. Can’t she do that here?”

“Boy, do you take the matters of the Great British Empire as child’s play?”

The response was Professor Moriarty’s chilling gaze, but… at this moment, even if it’s to “share the burden” for the Queen, I have to bear that look.

Because… there’s one thing I’ve become sure of, no longer just suspecting.

“Child’s play? Then Professor, your answer contradicts your earlier words. Didn’t you say there wasn’t any recent ‘big news’ in the Royal Capital? Why are you so insistent on the Queen returning to work?”

“!”

“Or, let’s cut out the superfluous words and streamline your intentions: You simply want to take the Queen back? As for what you’ll do… can you answer that?”

Staring directly into Professor Moriarty’s eyes, I unflinchingly welcomed the dangerous content about to unfold in the script!

The “Chaos” began because of me, and the Queen has already offered more than enough warnings and help! Now that the “Chaos” is heading towards her, well… even if the power of the “Script” can’t be fully utilized, it’s my turn to step forward.

“Stop acting, Professor.”

“Just say you want to take the Queen back to ‘deal’ with her.”

“The ‘Chaos’ you’re displaying is practically written all over your face!”

(Next month, I’m thinking of adding the lottery event from the new book to the old one. I’m relying on you guys to give more feedback in the comments, or it’s going to be awkward.)
