I paid off the debt for the most beautiful sisters in the school, and then they barged into my house where I live alone. “Please go back home; you don’t need to repay the favor.” “No way.” “We don’t want to~☆”

Chapter 18 - Helping Hand

“I think it’s about time to improve our living environment,” I said, laying down my chopsticks after finishing dinner.

“Eh? You’re going to change your lifestyle habits, big bro? That’s faster than I thought. As expected, my sister’s care for you is unparalleled,” Erika remarked.

“Seiichiro-kun, you’re being proactive? Could this be how a mother feels when her child starts to become independent?” Karen wondered.

“No! What’s with that slightly melancholic and sentimental expression you’re making?” I retorted.

I had noticed that Karen’s behavior towards me had been gradually changing recently. For instance, at first, she would say things like, “Seiichiro-kun, why don’t you study a bit more? If you have questions, feel free to ask. I’ll work hard alongside you.”

“Are you my elementary school teacher or something?” I’d reply.

As time passed, she started to get physically closer. “Seiichiro-kun, you’re going to the convenience store this late? You should wear brighter clothes, or you might get hit by a car. Oh, I’ll go with you.”

“Are you my older sister or something?”

And lately, she’s been saying things like, “Seiichiro-kun, playing games too much is bad for your eyes and body. I’m not saying you shouldn’t play, but…”

I’ve been genuinely wondering what’s going on with her, and it seems she’s genuinely feeling like a mother.

How did it come to this?

It’s honestly confusing when a female classmate treats you this way. My head’s spinning.

But that’s not what I wanted to talk about this time.

“Jeez. When I said ‘living environment,’ I was talking about you guys, not me.”

“Eh? Us?”

“Living environment, you say?”

They both looked puzzled. Why are they acting so surprised? It’s about them, after all.

“Yes. You two have been living here for a while now. It’s about time we elevate the living standards, like room interiors and clothing.”

The last time both sisters caught a cold, I entered their room for the first time. Even from my perspective as a sloppy guy, the room looked incredibly barren. They had almost no furniture and seemed to have only a few outfits to cycle through.

“Next holiday, let’s go shopping to get various things.”

“We’re poor sisters, you know. It’s hard to spend money on clothing.”

“We’re already borrowing your furniture and appliances. Asking for more would be extravagant.”

I need to push through here. “I get bothered if the people I live with are living poorly.”

“But we can’t rely on you that much, Seiichiro-kun. We need to repay your kindness.”

“We’re high-level beauties, so we don’t need to spend money to look good.”

“Then dress up for my sake. We’re living together, aren’t we?”

“Did you fall for us? Which one of us do you prefer? I’d recommend my sister, but if it’s me, I can even pick out underwear for you.”

“I haven’t fallen for anyone!”

“Seiichiro-kun, does this proposal mean you’re becoming more accepting of living with us?”

“Take it however you like. I just don’t want to feel awkward around here.”

As I got up to take the dishes to the sink, both sisters remained silent for a moment.

“I’ll pick out cute clothes to please your eyes, big bro! I’ll also choose for my sister. Oh, I’ll do the dishes, so just leave them in the sink.”

“If it would be a treat for your eyes, Seiichiro-kun, I’ll try my best within my capabilities! Oh, I’ll make some tea, so please sit down.”

Erika was smiling broadly, and Karen seemed rather eager.

I’ve said not to make a fuss, but they’re doing it anyway.
