Chapter 6
“But, five days on a ship… I wonder how many days it would take to swim to land.”
Honestly, I have more confidence in my swimming abilities than in catching fish.
“That’s swimming? You’d better not. There are man-eating giant fish in the nearby waters, aside from avoiding the water dragons and the sacrificial altar.”
“Man-eating giant fish?”
“Yes, they have silver scales, they’re about twice the size of humans, and they have sharp teeth…”
Huh? Those are the fish I usually eat?
Since the water dragon died, they must have started approaching this rocky reef… Oh, I didn’t realize they were such dangerous creatures.
It’s a shocking revelation.
“Well, there’s driftwood coming in, so we could make a small boat with that. Anyway, I want to escape from this island somehow.”
“I feel the same way. We can’t rely on food being available forever…”
No, that’s okay because I can catch fish.
“So, once again… let’s work together to escape from here. Counting on you.”
“If it’s about the sea or ships, I think I can be of help. Please count on me.”
Almira placed her front paw on the hand I offered.
She looks like she’s shaking hands, but saying that might get me scolded, so I’ll keep quiet.
