I want to eat dragon meat

Chapter 7

“Now, let’s discuss our means of escape from this deserted island.”

With our group expanded, we began a meeting to plan our escape from the island.

The members are me and the kitten Almira, totaling two.

“Yes,” Almira raised her front paw.

“Do you have any thoughts, Tatsuki-san?”

“Yeah… I’m thinking of trying to build a boat, for starters!”

“Are you going to make a raft out of driftwood? I think it’s quite dangerous.”

Almira’s concern is valid.

Apart from the issue of strength, if we consider water and food, and also putting Almira on the raft, if a storm like the one two days ago were to come, everything could be washed away.

“Yeah, it’s probably dangerous… both for the water and food, and for Almira.”

“Are you okay, Tatsuki-san!?”

“I’m fine, I’m tough.”

“No, I think Tatsuki-san is too confident. What if you do something reckless and, by any chance, get a scar on that pretty face? Please take care of yourself.”

Well, I probably won’t get any scars though.

I have a perfect body that can withstand pounding on the rocky reef… well, except for my chest, it’s small. My figure isn’t perfect either.

Well, it’s okay.

If I had big breasts, I would have seriously struggled with where to look.

“Thanks for worrying about me… um, then how about this? What if we use dragon bones and attach skin to them to make a boat?”

Water dragons are giant serpentine creatures.

If we process them properly, we might be able to create something like a half-cylindrical boat.

“Well, considering the materials we have on hand, if we want to make a boat that can withstand even a storm, that’s the only option… but still, processing the dragon bones might be too much for you, Tatsuki-san, or rather, too much for human hands.”

“No, probably not… or rather, it’s better if you see it for yourself.”

“It’s okay. I’m quite strong. It’s just right, so watch me. See how much I can do.”

It’s almost noon.

I’ll demonstrate my fish-catching routine.

I dive into the sea, catch the usual annoying creatures flying at me for bait, and return.

It took about 2 or 3 minutes, subjectively.

Almira, who was watching, is now gaping in astonishment.

“Um, Tatsuki-san, are you really not a goddess or something?”

“No, I’m just a regular human… or I should be… Well, there’s a reason why I ended up like this.”

“A reason? What is it?”

The kitten tilts her head.

I point to the dragon and water dragon as I explain.

“Because I ate dragon meat.”

“I see, I understand now.”

Almira claps her hands together. Quite adorable.

“It’s said that those who eat dragon meat gain the power of the dragon. So that explains… both of them!?”

“Yeah. Both, all of it.”

“A-all of it!?”

Almira screams, her tail standing straight up.

“Dragons are at the pinnacle of mythical creatures. Even compared to other mythical species, they’re an entirely different existence! Just one bite can give you incredible power! There are countless tales of those who couldn’t handle the power of dragons, turning into bloodied messes, losing their minds, or becoming beasts! And you ate both!? Moreover, the equivalent of two of them!?”

She seems incredibly shocked.

“That’s… truly amazing.”

“Oh, don’t embarrass me.”

“I’m not complimenting you!”

For some reason, I’m being scolded. It’s awkward to be accused of something I didn’t even know about.

“Well, that’s why I’ve become incredibly strong, so I think I have enough strength to break or process dragon bones… I believe.”

“Let’s switch gears, I see hope on the horizon!”

Almira’s tail stands straight up as she shouts excitedly.

“I also have some knowledge about ship construction! I may be able to offer some advice!”

“Yeah, that’d be great! Honestly, I have no idea about ship construction, so please give me as much advice as you can!”

I also got caught up in the excitement and cheered enthusiastically.

After that, we had a meal with the fish I caught.

Almira showed some mysterious resistance to eating them raw, despite being a cat.

And so, the construction of the ship began.

We folded a portion of the water dragon’s tail, about 10 meters long, to serve as the frame of the ship—a substitute for ribs.

Then, we sliced the water dragon’s skin into rope-like strips and used them to fix and reinforce key points of the spine, which would serve as the bottom of the ship.

Next, we covered the entire ship with the water dragon’s skin.

For the upper part, we hollowed it out and used the dragon’s skin ropes to sew and tie the ribs and skin together for stability.

We used dragon bones and scales as ballast on the ship’s bottom, but it seemed like too much weight. Well, it was Almira’s advice, so it should be fine.

Since the water dragon’s skin was cold, we laid down boards that had washed ashore for the living quarters.

Then, we stretched the water dragon’s skin over the top like a canopy, and erected dragon wings as masts, piercing them through the ship’s bottom.

It was truly a three-day undertaking.

We tested it by floating it in the sea, and it performed admirably.

The water dragon hull calmed the waves, and the wind dragon wings generated wind to propel us forward.

It had become a magical and mysterious ship, mostly thanks to Almira. She had researched various properties of dragon skin and bones.

“It’s done!”

Almira is frolicking around the ship.

The kitten, standing on two legs and cheering, looks oddly cute, almost human-like.

“The Dragon Ship, crafted extravagantly from the materials of water and wind dragons! It’s at the pinnacle of mythical creatures! A ship made with this much dragon material could buy several countries, damn it!”

Well, it seems like we got a bit carried away there.

Despite the considerable amount of handiwork involved, the Dragon Ship turned out to be quite extravagant. Well, most of it is probably the cost of the materials.

“But, thanks to that, the Dragon House looks kinda disappointing now…”

As we’ve been stripping wings and scales, the Dragon House is now in pretty bad shape. The water dragon remnants also give it a rather wrecked feel… Well, it can’t be helped since it’s for our escape.

“Anyway, the ship is ready! Now, we just need to load up the cargo and set sail!”

“Alright!”

With a hearty wave of my hand, Almira follows suit.

It’s finally time to leave this rocky outcrop behind and venture out into the open sea.
