I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess

Chapter 143: Second Layer of the Forest of Disruption? [4]

"WHY THE HELL AM I THE ONE LOST THIS TIME!?"

She then turned towards the corpse of the lizard and gave it a kick to its side. She then turned around with an angered expression before crouching down and caressing the front of her shoe.

"Ow..." She quietly muttered as she rubbed her foot. She sighed and got up.

"Not much I can do now..." Lillian outwardly thought, "Maybe I should just stay still for a bit and hope they would find me." She held her hand out and pulled a mana potion from thin air.

"I'm quite rich when it comes to points so buying some potion isn't much of an issue. Now that I think about it... should I just buy some kind of tracker from the store?"

She rubbed her chin before biting into the bottle's cork, pulling it out, and spitting it onto the ground. She then brought the mouth of the bottle to her lips and began drinking it.

"Puah~!" She brought the bottle away and stored it in her ring, "Man, I was so low on mana... But I did need to test out another one of my experiments."

It wasn't a planned experiment, in the slightest. But something she had thought up on the spot, which turned out to work quite well, surprisingly.

The experiment she was referring to was the "pebbles" she had created. By having her Parasitic element take on that form, she made it into some kind of leech or flea.

A mana-created inanimate "parasite" that sucked out a creature's body warmth. Although the rate it did this left much to be desired, it did work as intended, which she thought wouldn't work.

"And by it stealing the lizard's body warmth that's super hot, it was able to boil the water I stored inside it." Lillian muttered out loud as she held a notebook and a pen, jotting down what happened.

What she had essentially made was a kind of ticking time bomb. Except, no... "boom".

"For someone with my intelligence, I think I did pretty well—"

Lillian stared at the notification the Jester sent with a deadpan expression, "A bit delayed aren't you?" She wasn't sure why but the Jester had been acting strange.

The notifications of her kills would always be extremely delayed. Nothing like the instantaneous she had gotten from it during the Trial.

Not only that, but its voice felt a bit more... distorted and static than before. It felt almost chilling to hear it.

She rubbed the back of her head, "No way the Jester is broken, right...? Man... that'll be such a—"

"What the hell is that!?"

Lillian froze. Her body stiffened as she reflectively got into a stance. She glanced around and saw no one around her. Strange...

She then stared at the fog and realised it must've been someone else's voice. But why did they sound so... alarmed?

She cupped behind her ear and tried to listen closely—failing to release a subtle tremor through the ground.

"Q-Quick! Use the talisman!"

These voices must be from the other class... But what could leave them so afraid? Was it the lizards? Or the other monsters here? That must be it.

She then pulled her hand down and shrugged, "I'll be fine, anyway." She said, failing to once again notice another tremor.

She glanced at the lizard and thought about storing it in her ring before deciding against it. "Nah... I think I'm already running out of room. I don't even think I can fit this thing in the first place."

She then turned her gaze towards the sky, placed her hands on her hips and waited. And waited. And... waited.

She eventually got bored. And the hollowed screams passing through the fog didn't help either. It gave her the shivers. The blood on her clothes wasn't helping a single bit either.

She felt dirty.

It was during this that she finally realised the faint tremors through the ground, which always caught her off guard due to how close they felt.

And...

Crack... Thud...

Her head snapped to a fallen branch from a decaying tree. She didn't know why but this kept happening around her.

Crack... Thud...

Her head turned the other way towards another tree to find another one of its branches had broken off as well.

What on Earth was going on? Was there some kind of season for these trees to suddenly lose their branches?

After a moment of pure silence, she had thought it was over. Instead, it had only begun to become more confusing.

SNAP! THUD!

She jumped, her muscles tense as her eyes snapped towards a "far-away" tree that had suddenly fallen over without any given warning. She was now starting to feel... a tad bit anxious.

Sweat began to appear on her back, sticking to the inside of her clothes. A small shiver ran up her spine, causing trembling goosebumps to appear on her arms.

SNAP! THUD!

The fog felt more dense and cold as it washed over her skin. The howling of the wind felt more dreadful than before as it brushed through her hair.

SNAP! THUD!

'What's going on...' Lillian thought fearfully as she watched the surrounding trees snap and fall over.

She slowly stepped back and unconsciously glanced towards the lizard's corpse that should've been beside her... But all there was left was a still puddle of cold blood.

"W-... where did it go?" Lillian asked no one in a small voice.

She stared down at the blood and saw how stretched the puddle was. It was like the corpse was dragged away from her without any sounds made.

She quickly summoned her Odachi and went into a stance.

As she did this, she realised her mana wasn't at its maximum capacity, right now. Discovering this, she hurriedly bought another potion and pulled out its cork.

However, just before her lips could reach the mouth of the potion—

SWISH!

—Something flashed through the air, destroying the potion and causing the solution to fall to the ground.

Drip...

Lillian stiffly held the neck of the potion, in shock.

Drip...

She watched as the blue drops of liquid hung on one of the sharp, jagged edges of the bottle...

Drip...

Before falling to the ground, splashing.

Her nose unconsciously twitched and sniffed the air, finding the smell of iron to be more pungent than previously before... and even more... revolting.

Click... Click... Click...

Lillian's ears twitched at the eerie sounds of clicking behind her.

This sound caused her to tighten up. This sound caused her hand around the hilt of her Odachi to grip harder.

Was she... In danger?
