I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess

Chapter 146: Second Layer of the Forest of Disruption? [7]

Before Lillian could reach the Beetle's location, the Spider had already made its move. With the spike growing from the tip of its leg, it flashed nimbly towards the side of the Beetle's impervious shell...

Well...

Crack...!

... Once impervious shell...

The Beetle widened its eyes for a brief moment before narrowing them dangerously. It pulled its body back away from the Spider for a split second before charging and slamming its horn towards its face.

The Spider, using the help of its legs to leverage itself along the ground, avoided the attack by pulling itself back. It then unhooked its legs from the ground and leapt back.

It fell from the air and made its landing by stabbing its legs into the ground—

Thud! Thud! Thud! Skrrr...

—Before being dragged by the momentum of its retreat.

Lillian, who had finally arrived, lowered her hand and slowly walked to the side of the Beetle, overlooking what had happened. That was when shock spread across her face.

She stared at the evident cracks on the Beetle's armour that formed around a deep hole in its armour. It wasn't a wide puncture, seemingly only made at the tip.

But why was this attack different compared to the others? The stab was much slower than the speeding quills, so it should've carried much less force... Right?

She pondered deeply, tapping at the ethereal energy within her and controlled it to course through her arm. The mana that flowed through her muscles, veins—and possibly even bones—sank deeply into them.

She then felt as though she was capable of making them become soft, fluid, and even liquid. This feeling she felt was a connection she needed to tap into to morph parts of her body into water.

But...

Lillian stared at the thin layer of a semi-transparent blue aura wrapped around her forearm—mostly around her hand that then formed a fist.

By coating her limbs in mana and having it sink into your organs, you can boost various parts of it to a degree depending on how efficient and skilful you are.

The main reason you would do this was to increase the strength behind your movements.

Lillian waved her arm, dissipating the blue aura around it before scowling at the Spider's next move.

Without any given warning, it seemed ducked back into the greyish fog. Hiding itself.

"Tsk... Now I gotta wait until it comes back out?" Lillian raised her hand to the side—a look of hesitation crossing over her face.

She stretched her fingers through a black panel in the system, pulling yet another mana potion.

She stared at it curiously before biting into the cork and spitting it out, releasing the mystical fumes that wafted from the potion into her nose.

But she couldn't process its smell for her ears twitched at a faint... whistling from beyond the fog, specifically to her—

CLANG!

—Side...

Lillian stared in surprise as the Beetle curved itself around her, shielding her again from another speeding attack from the Spider that continued to hide itself.

"Glug. Glug. Glug. Puah~...!"

Lillian tossed away the bottle before patting the side of the Beetle with a grateful expression. "Thanks, buddy..." After briefly saying that she went silent.

How was she going to find the Spider in this damned fog? It's too thick for her eyes to see through... It was impossible.

As she pondered what to do, her fingers that were rhythmically tapping against the shell of the Beetle, suddenly felt a sense of movement from the horrid Insect.

She glanced up from the ground, tilting her body to the side and staring at its face, which seemed to twitch a bit. But it wasn't just its face, but it was eyes that seemed to slowly drift left and right.

Lillian followed its line of sight and found it staring blankly through the fog. Aimlessly. It looked as though it was just messing around by watching the fog move.

She raised an eyebrow at it. What was her pet doing? That was until she widened her eyes a bit before curling her lips into a broad smile. She raised her left hand and placed her palm against her face.

"That's how I'm going to find the damn—"

—Whistle... CLANG!

Lillian looked through the gaps between her fingers, watching as the Beetle circled around her once more, defending her from yet another flying quill from the Spider.

This cycle repeated a few more times.

Lillian covered her ears with her hands, blocking out the deafening ringing. She closely watched the Beetle's movements and focused expressions.

She knew what was going on now...

Lillian smacked the side of the Beetle with a joyful grin, "Ah~! You gorgeous, "ugly" bastard! You know where that damned sniper is at all times, don't you?!" She felt a weight become lifted off her shoulders.

Now she won't have to be so much afraid of the possible chances of its ambush at any given moment.

If she remembered correctly from the Beetle's Attribute section, it had one named [Senser] and by going off of its name, this Beetle can sense the Spider's location, right!?

Yes... This filled one of the requirements for her "Win Condition"...

In fact, she knew the next one as well!

Whistle...

But before that—

CLANG!

After the Beetle twisted its body around, smacking the needle out of the air and causing it to spin uncontrollably, Lillian raised her hand, pointing towards the direction it came from and yelled:

"I'll let you eat it—" Lillian paused for a split second, opening her hand and catching the falling needle from the sky. And using it to point, she continued, "If you can kill it—!"

Before she couldn't even completely finish the last parts of her words, the Beetle had already left her side, scurrying in a "totally random" direction in the fog.

Lillian was the least bit worried she would lose it. Due to their connection with one another with the help of the Jester, which seemed to be operating smoothly now, she would be able to find its general location.

She breathed a sigh before quickly tossing the needle away and clutching her hand with a pained expression, "Why the hell did I catch that...?!" She hissed, staring down at her bleeding palm.
