I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess

Chapter 147: Second Layer of the Forest of Disruption? [8]

Lillian steadily ran through the fog. Her eyes focused on a massive dark figure in the distance as it battled with another.

She then raised her arms, shielding her face from the blast of wind that exploded from their clash.

As the fog rolled over her, so did a thunderous, distorted roar. She brought down her arms and looked onwards.

The monstrous dark beings in the fog had disappeared.

She groaned, sensing the Beetle had relocated its battle elsewhere. She turned to the side and chased after them.

Her ears picked up the sounds of the battle. The snapping of trees. The soft, wet thuds of being slammed into the ground. And the high-pitched screeches and low roars of the monsters.

She finally found traces of their battle. Deep, narrow holes were dug in the grounds—several of them. These must be from their pointy legs.

She glanced to the side, finding destroyed remains of the forest's dead-looking trees. Wrinkled, grey bark was strewn along the ground. Splinters a few centimetres long were found scattered like hay.

And over them was a droopy, purplish liquid that ran down their edges and curves. If one were to focus their eyes on this—they would notice a sort of gas rising from it.

Had the Spider tried to use its venom on the Beetle? She knew for a fact that her Beetle wasn't strongly resistant to poison at all. If one were to go off of what had happened in the Trial.

But even so, for the Spider to actually have its venom injected into the Beetle's body, it would need to—

A. Destroy the Beetle's armour and reach its flesh underneath. Or...

B. Figure out that the Beetle's weakness was its underside.

Thud...

Lillian shuddered at the strong, sudden tremors sent through the ground, which were followed by a primal roar. She raised her eyes, finding a large blurry, dark object rolling towards her.

Thud...

It bounced along the ground, leaving wide dents in the dirt. The sound grew more and more louder.

Thud...!

Lillian squinted her eyes at the thing, trying to make out what it was...

Thud!

That was when she realised...

THUD!

Lillian widened her eyes before diving to the side, narrowly dodging the combined bodies of the Beetle and Spider as they rolled past.

The Beetle watched as the Spider fluidly wrapped its front right leg around its horn like an octopus. It then snapped its jaws at it with a twitchy face, causing the arachnid to flinch back a bit.

After the fog swallowed them again, Lillian quickly scurried herself back to her feet. While she was doing this, the Beetle laid on its back—forced into the ground.

The Spider stood over it—its legs splayed over its side, wrapping it in a crushing embrace, dripping its venom onto its face that seemed to singe the Beetle.

Hiss...

The Beetle snarled at before snapping its jaws. The Spider flinched back again and then deliberately drew its head back in.

SNAP!

The Beetle snapped at it again but found that the Spider remained still. Unfazed. It then watched as the Arachnid raised one of its legs, morphing the tip into a spike.

And with a sinister speed, it flashed the tip of the spike into the Beetle's exposed underside, sinking into its organs.

The Beetle let out a guttural groan as it felt the cold, metallic spike sink into its flesh and organs. It then felt the feeling of something flowing out of the puncture wound.

The Spider, using one of its many eyes, focused on the spike stuck in the Beetle's body, watching as a red liquid flowed out. It then, with an almost sadistic glint in its eyes, wiggled the spike.

The Beetle felt the tip of the pointy spike scratch and rip into the inner workings of its body, causing it to let out a furious, pain-filled roar.

And with it, its legs that were tied to the side of its body, finally broke free from the Spider's constricting embrace. And like loaded rifles, the spear-like limbs shot towards the pulsating abdomen of the Spider.

However, in a flash, the Spider pulled out one leg from either side of its body—

THUD! THUD!

—And stabbed them into the ground. With surprising strength, it pushed itself back—only receiving a minor scratch from the Beetle as they grazed its throbbing underside.

While it was a couple of metres into the air—and a few metres back—one of its last remaining quills on its back, stopped its constant twitching before quickly angling itself in the Beetle's direction.

PSHT!

It shot from its back with a loud hiss like compressed air, scraping against the side of the Spider's black armour, and flying towards the Beetle's still wriggling form.

However, just before it could skewer its body, Lillian—who had already made it to the Beetle's side—quickly absorbed the Beetle into its glass shard.

THUD!

Lillian gripped the glass shard that reflected the image of the Beetle's face, which expressed a hint of pain.

She then glanced towards the needle beside her feet, watching as it reflected her own face in its polished side.

Although her face looked blurry in the reflection, she knew... She looked worried. She turned her gaze towards the Spider, which was fortunately unhidden by the fog.

But... That did allow her to watch its disturbing act.

She watched as the Spider raised the limb that stabbed the Beetle and stared curiously at the blood-coated spike. And then unexpectedly, a slim and long dull red tongue slid out from its maw.

It wiggled in the air, spraying droplets of saliva onto the ground before wrapping itself around the spike, stroking it up and down and slowly cleaning it of blood.

And while it did this, its gaze was focused on her the entire time.

She shivered a bit, "What a freak..." She muttered under her breath before pulling out her Odachi. Her eyes then glanced towards its back.

She waited for a moment and realised it wasn't growing any more spikes, specifically on its back. Could it be... that it can't just create more quills?

Could it be it took mana to do that?

This question then brought her onto the next "Win Condition". Since monsters can't regenerate mana on their own, the most common way to defeat one was to...
