Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 1061: The maiden and The conductor

[OP: ]

The air crackled with tension as Rein, now transformed into the Maiden of Durk, faced her opponent.

[{ "Come, oh maiden." }]

The Naga was challenging her not mockingly, but with a respect deserving of a warrior.

He did not have arrogance in his eyes, but simple excitement about the battle that was going to unfold here.

-Swish!

The creature, with scales shimmering like emeralds and eyes burning with predatory hunger, stood there as Rein vanished and blinked forward, her blade, made with the essence of water and covered in the essence of darkness, slicing through the air with strange precision.

-Swiiiiiiiiiish!

-Clank!

The first attack was blocked.

-Clank!!

The second as well.

-Clung…!

However, the two curved blades of the warrior could not block the third attack that came from behind despite the opponent being in front of him.

-Clang!

Still…

[{ "Interesting…" }]

The opponent was not wounded in the slightest. The scales around him were simply too tough…

-Swiiiiiiiish!

-Clank! Clank! Clank!

~~~Tring. Tring… Treiiiing…
As the battle commenced, a haunting melody filled the space, emanating from the divine artifact as K produced various colourful arrows that either buffed the Maiden, or tried hindering the opponent with the melodious spell arrows.
This harp-like instrument, Gwain, resonated with ethereal notes that danced around the warriors, weaving a harmony of threads that both inspired and unnerved the One with the Green eyes.
Each strum aided Rein in the battle against the single opponent, reassuring her of her safety as she fought without worrying about the three (Purple) ranked snakes as well as the remaining opponents.
Her powers were better suited for mass destruction however, that was only the case when she was going against someone that did not match up to her powers.
When going against opponents that were several times stronger, it was best to just focus all her destructive powers on the most threatening opponent, leaving the rest to the one that knew how to take care of the rest better.
-Boooooooooooom!
Rein moved gracefully, her armour of darkness shifting and flowing like liquid shadows.
-Swiiiiiiiiiiish!
She dodged the initial swipes of the Naga's blades, feeling the rush of air as they passed dangerously close.
-Swish! Swish! Swish!
With a swift motion, she retaliated, summoning tendrils and clones of darkness that lashed out toward her foe.
-Klank!
The enormous dark energy generated along with her Witch powers struck the Naga, momentarily staggering him and creating an opening for her to press her advantage.
She had fought against him for about an hour to get that one opening, a chance that she had only obtained because the creature did not anticipate the kind of sudden burst of energy that she had produced.
It was precious…
[{ "Eon!" }]
She could not, she must not miss this opportunity.
[{ "Yes." }]
Eon, the conductor of this chaotic battle, stood at a distance, his hands weaving intricate patterns in the air since earlier.
With his partner artifact Asta by his side, he channelled his unique Solnova to influence the course of the fight. He was using Runic spells of Old so masterfully it produced a shimmering gleam in the green eyes of the Great spectator.
-Oooooooooooong!
Asta shimmered with coded runes of its own, amplifying Eon's spells and enhancing their effects.
-Zap!
He had been ready since earlier so when she earned the chance, he released a new attack that contained several times greater power than the one she had produced just now.
-ZAAAAAA…!
With a flick of his wrist, Eon altered the flow of mana in the room.
With his branched Origin skill [Call of Authority] he had been controlling the (Indigo) rank creatures and making them fight against the (Purple) ranked beings.
It was a new skill that he earned when he reached the advanced mastery of his Origin skill, something that he did not understand completely yet, but also something that had the ability to overrule the authority of someone else over beings that did not possess 'high' intelligence.
He could steal someone else's command over someone, however, if the creature is too strong, he could not do it: like it was in the case of the Naga or the (Purple) creatures.
He could also not maintain this authority for too long or over too many creatures at once just yet, so he shifted his command from one snake to another and confused them.
By now, they had all become entangled in one another and even the smaller snakes did not know what to do.
One of the three (Purple) snakes, the one resembling an earthworm, was now heavily wounded while the other two were still sorting things out with the rest of the purple creature– something he was only able to accomplish thanks to Asta, the one who amplified the effects of his skills with the integrated (Law) of acceleration.
-Oooooooooooooooooong!
He was now ready to take down the Naga warrior along with her, so…
~~~Trrring. Triiiiiing~!!

The melody from K intensified, its ethereal notes weaving through the air like a shimmering thread of energy.

These enchantments and the magic arrows that accompanied the music, resonated deeply with Rein's dark powers, amplifying her abilities and granting her sudden bursts of speed and strength.

Each note seemed to ignite a fire within her, propelling her forward with renewed vigour as she prepared to face the Naga warrior.

At the same time, Eon focused his mind, drawing upon the 'encoded grimoires' of knowledge stored within his mind tower.

With a flick of his wrist, he summoned a colossal wall from the heavens above, invoking a special coded spell that only he could conjure.

-Ooooooooooooong!

His red eyes glowed with an intense golden light as the spell took shape, reflecting the new power coursing through him.

He was not casting the spell. He was simply a medium that helped the manifestation of this already created spell…

-ZAAAAAA…

As the incantation reached its climax, intricate spell circles,marked with ancient Runes of Old, began to materialise across the entire ceiling of the battlefield.

These components of (tier-7) circles pulsed with energy, their designs strangely advanced and mesmerising.

The runes glowed brightly, illuminating the space with a celestial light that cascaded down like a shower of stars.

-Ooooooooooong…!

A new light fell from above, bathing the entire battlefield in a radiant glow.

With the melody from K harmonising with Eon's powerful assist spell, a sense of Order enveloped them.

K helped her with the buffs, while (Echoes of Prophecy) the holy spell that Eon had just conjured, had significantly debuffed the Naga warrior while enhancing all the existing buffs on Rein.

She felt invigorated as she launched herself at the Naga once more, her movements much more fluid and precise.

The Naga was now finally getting wounded, however it had an absurd Healing Factor.

Both its serpentine upper body and humanoid lower body were as solid as the metal of the gods.

Getting wounded did not go well with the being that had been excited until now, however it still only made the excitement on him deeper.

It struck out with both blades with a new flurry, a masochistic smirk present on him.

-Clang!

Rein was taken aback for a moment, but she had seen much worse characters than this weirdo.

She divided her scythe and summoned a shield of darkness out of her EFMW that absorbed the brunt of the blows before dissipating into shimmering motes of light.

"Now!" Eon shouted right when he threw Asta and guided it to aid Rein's next strike.

-Zyuup…!

The harp's music swelled in harmony and amplified once more as the entire divine artifact started shaking in a dangerous manner.

"..."

Perceiving this, Rein focused her energy into a single point and unleashed another devastating wave of dark power that surged toward the Naga.

But he had already seen that coming so he did not fall for the same trick once again… though, he could not keep a track of the golden arrow like lance thrown by the Conductor of this entire battle…

-Ghyup!

The creature was caught off guard by the ferocity of the sudden attack.

[{ "Ughhh!" }]

The darkness which had passed through him, enveloped him like a shroud, cutting off his escape as he struggled against the violently rotating weapon inside his abdomen, grinding away at his internal organs.

[{ "Finish it." }]

Rein seized this moment to close in; her weapon a manifestation of the scythe of the death reaper.

[{ "Haha. You got me there… with that one…" }]

With one final push fueled by Eon's magic and K's enchanting melody, Rein struck true.

-Boooooooooooom!

The darkness coiled around the Naga's blades and pulled them away as she delivered a powerful blow that sent him sprawling to the ground.

-...

For a moment, silence fell on the battlefield.

[{ "He blocked it." }]

[{ "I know…" }]

A bitter smile appeared on her face when she looked down at the series of cuts that were present on her impenetrable armour.

The moment when she landed that last hit, and the smirk present on the creature a moment before that… just they were enough to tell her about her, about their failure.

[{ "You are good, oh Successors of foreign legacies." }]

From the rubbles, the snake walked out with Asta in his hand, the big hole previously present on him now rapidly healing visibly.

[{ "However…" }]

Strange green sparks of energy that were not Mana or Aura but something as profound as Origin energy, present all around his now glowing body.

[{ "You are not using Your Legacies." }]

-Swish.

In the blink of an eye, the creature vanished and reappeared before Rein, blasting her away with only a single flick of his fingers.

[{ "You cannot pass until you do that, Children." }]

With another instantaneous moment, he also moved to Eon and ignoring all his defences, he blasted him away with another spark of lightning dancing around him.

[{ "Start again." }]

He smirked down at both of them afterwards, a somewhat prideful expression present on him.

[{ "Show THEM what You succeed." }]

They lost.

They were defeated.

But, instead of death or a bad ending… What greeted them was an even worse outcome.

[{ "Shit…" }]

They had expanded a lot of resources and energy already, but they were asking them to do all that again.

[{ "Fuck…" }]

And truthfully, they knew they did not have any choice here, so doing all that again was the only thing they could do if they wanted to make it out of this damned place.
