Chapter 1064 To find a power within
[Eon's POV: ]
'Should we see what master left first? Will it give us some clue?'
[{ *I do not know master, and I do not think that will be possible either. Unlike the other messages, this one seems a little different.
We have unlocked this, but it seems like we cannot see it just yet.* }]
'In short… we have to unlock the divinity like Rein before we can see her.'
[{ *Perhaps…* }]
Rein was able to unlock the divinity of her unique skill.
It was the divinity of her skill, the divinity that belonged to something that she possessed, something that we should not mistake as individual divine power.
'The divine power that she just used surely belonged to her, but it was not hers.'
The divinity belonged to her eyes that had experienced a lot of things and were themselves divine.
But, unlike those eyes, Rein was still a mortal that was not strong enough to handle the divinity of something else.
'At the end of the day, it was the same as using the blessing of someone else or the stigmata powers.'
We surely will possess our own divine power but right now, we were simple mortals that were not even comparable to the Transidents of the mortal world much less the divinities and the gods or the lords.
We still needed a little while longer to reach that level. But still, as crazy as it may sound, using divine powers despite being a mortal limited by the Laws of nature was not impossible.
Just like how she had demonstrated just now, there were ways a mortal could use the divine powers of someone else.
'Those who had been blessed by the divinities or those who carry the stigma of the divinities could access a portion of their powers that THEY had allowed them.
And, in her case, the eyes that possessed divinity were granting her the divine power… but still, she was the one that possessed that power.
[{ *We should not think too deeply about this, master.* }]
'I know…'
But, as simple as it may sound, I don't know just how exactly I'm supposed to empty my head and just let everything go…
'She was able to do it when she realised her eyes were working properly despite the near shut down of her bodily functions.'
It was a realisation that She received. It wasn't necessary that it would work the same for me as well.
'But then again, whether it would work for me or not isn't even the first question.'
To not think was the same as to shut down my head, and with my strange head being always active, and with Lucy present, it wasn't really possible for me to empty this head of mine.
Yet…
Thinking about it, it wasn't really impossible.
'Lucy, let's try it at least.'
Forgetting, often perceived as a loss of memories or ongoing thought process, can be reinterpreted as a philosophical question that does not have a certain answer.
We can make it so that it becomes a reminder of our impermanence and the fluid nature of memory, reminding ourselves that our identities are not static but rather dynamic constructs shaped by what we remember and what we let go.
'Sure I was also tired from all the battles we have had against that Naga warrior. But, even if my body was deteriorating, my mind was still pretty intact.'
Thanks to Lucy, I was able to stay sane. And thanks to her helping with many of the mental processes, I was able to do all that we have done until now.
Her existence was separate from mine. She was a distinct entity so, even if I consider that she was the one blocking me from using the 'legacy' powers that I possessed, she wasn't really hindering my passive mental processes.
'She helped me with what I needed, and she continued doing what she wanted while talking with me constantly.'
She was also part of my master's powers and authorities, so the chances that she was hindering me from using the 'Legacy' that would help us get out of there were low.
'Let's start with the simple things.'
What we know about this whole situation is that the trial that we are facing isn't connected with the two of us.
The snake with green eyes simply wants to see something and since Rein had shown it what she was capable of, so the snake's new, smaller body was now talking with her in a corner.
I've received her advice, and though still in doubt, I'll try to do what the rest of them wanted from us.
'First, let's try letting go of the senses.'
I knew it might not work, but I still had to try…
'Hmm…'
So I tried.
My body was already weak after all the fighting, so starting forgetting that I even had those bodily functions, I tried to look inside of myself.
'Which I couldn't do, obviously.'
It wasn't easy.
With all the memories of the things that have happened to me until now being present on the surface level of my mind, there were a lot of things that I just could not forget or stop from being present on top of my head.
'After conditioning my mind to think like this so that the usual pain that I have lessens a little, it isn't easy to forget what I've engraved inside my head.'
My (Mind Tower) as well…
It was a [Fictional] construction that I have created to store information that is either too large and unnecessary, or is something so important and special that it should not wander anywhere in the vast ocean like 'mind'.
'The Mind tower was pretty much a replica of the power that we have in the great forest, one of the homes that She left for Us, and but unlike the original, this Fictional replica only stores things that I perceive on daily bases.'
The mind tower is like an inventory for me that has all kinds of memories stored up in different floors of different sections of different rooms' different areas.
The kind of organisation and categorization that I've done in that place is not something I can shut down myself, but, thankfully, I am not the only one that can access my 'mind'.
'How about we first put a curtain on the tower and cut off the connection to the tower for the time being?'
Controlling and blocking the other senses was pretty simple. All I had to do was stop the functioning of those parts of the body with my Solnova.
But unlike Rein, we were not dealing with something that was part of my physical body.
'If the 'legacy' that they are talking about is in fact the Stigma of my master and the associated powers that she left me and not Lucy, then it definitely is related to my mental body.'
Perhaps it could also be related to my Spiritual body, but we do not know if that is the case or not just yet.'
So, going with the remaining possibility, what we have to do isn't simply to shut My mind, but along with that, we will also have to somehow draw out the dormant powers of the stigma… something we have not even thought of until now.
"Huuuuuu…"
[{ *Master, this could be dangerous-.* }]
'I know you're worried something bad might happen, but there is no need to be anxious or worried right now, Lucy.
If this really is just a test, just like how Rein was fine despite using that power, we should also be-.'
[{ *However, master, as you said… you and her are not the same. What if-.* }]
'Lucy…'
She worried too much.
There was no need to worry that much. In fact, it should be fine as long as we limit ourselves and simply try doing things organically.
'It's fine. I can do this.'
If we know what we have to do, then at least giving it a try is necessary.
The results are not in our hands anyway so, if things go well, it will be fine and we will get out of this place with the group that we came here with.
And if I do get to unlock my ability to use the Stigma's powers, then it will be pretty useful going forward.
Though, if things go wrong and something happens…
[{ *I will take over if something happens, master.* }]
She wasn't asking or informing me this time.
She was telling me she would do it if something did happen without my permission or command.
'Let us hope we do not need that though.'
I did not mind that. If something does happen and my life is endangered, it would be better if she takes control of my body and temporarily intervenes with my 'mind'.
Though… since I'm doing something that is pretty closely related to my mind anyway, neither of us knows what could go wrong just with her interference.
'That's why, I know she will hold back as long as possible.'
I trusted her, and I know she trusts me more than her own logic. So, she did as I asked and blocked off the mental barriers that I've created for myself.
Then, I proceeded with editing my Schema, and then…
And then I blocked off the ongoing thought processes.
With the other senses already blocked off, no new information went to my senses and to my mind, ultimately making my head 'empty' for the time being.
And when that happened, I was left in a world of darkness.
In a world…
Where nothing existed.
