Chapter 1063 Use of inherent divinity
[OP: ]
Eon observed Rein as she stood back up, her pink eyes glowing with an unfamiliar light that seemed to pulse with a life of its own. This wasn't just a reflection of her usual powers… there was something deeper.
[{ "They wanted us to use Our powers." }]
As she regained her footing, Eon felt a shift in the atmosphere around them.
The energy radiating from Rein was distinct, not merely her Origin energy or the typical manifestations of her Witch powers, but rather an essence that hinted at something that he knew deeply but at the same time was not yet aware of.
It was as if she had tapped into a 'hidden' potential, one that resonated with an ancient force or a new awakening within her. However, this was not anything like an origin awakening or a simple awakening as a mage or knight.
The light and the energy radiating from her was of such a unique wavelength that he had only ever experienced it when he was witnessing a Divine being or someone possessing divinity around him.
[{ "They did not want to see our skills or if we could defeat that creature or not." }]
The glow in her eyes was mesmerizing, casting a light that illuminated the entirety of the dim room around them.
[{ "The Legacy that they had been talking about since earlier…" }]
Eon couldn't shake the feeling that this change in Rein signified more than just a momentary surge of power… it felt like the beginning of something monumental.
He knew what she was doing was not too profound, he had this innate feeling that he could do what she was doing as well.
The energy radiating from her was simple yet unique. He knew what he was, he had known what it was for a long time perhaps, but he could not properly grasp it like she had.
He could not detach himself from the [Law] that prevented him from knowing the knowledge that him and his entire being were already aware of.
[{ "It's simple, actually." }]
She smiled delightfully as she started seeing the entirety of the world around her in a completely new light than before. '
[{ "We just have to stop doing everything else and just use the 'Seed' which we have been growing inside of us for a long while now." }]
-Oooooooooooooooong!
Her skin had become a little pale.
There was no Mana around her anymore. In fact, it seemed like she had lost all her energy and yet, the energy that was currently radiating from her was the greatest he had ever felt from her… or in fact from anyone around them.
[{ "The Legacy that we have is nothing more than the one thing that is left when we detach from everything else." }]
Her eyes, the eyes that could see the truth, the eyes that he had fallen for and the eyes that were capable of many things that his eyes could never fathom.
Her pretty eyes…
They were so bright that when he looked at them this time, he could not keep his eyes on them.
The light that was coming from them was simply too bright. The light, actually, was so bright that even the Naga warrior who had been fighting us effortlessly until now, had to close his eyes.
And yet, the smirk that he had on his face was deeper than ever…
[{ "I realised after losing all the strength in my body that I could still See everything clearly.
My eyes were sore and tired and even bloody, and yet… I could see everything." }]
The eyes that had been simply pretty until now were not simply just pretty.
Like Anna's crystal eyes, they had become somewhat textured… though, they did not exactly seem like a crystal, they surely did not seem like the eyes of a human anymore.
[{ "And, since I could see everything… I tried seeing more." }]
Thanks to the Naga, she had lost all the strength that was present in her and most of her bodily functions had nearly been shut down at the end.
She had long lost her sense of touch and pain and sensation, her ears had stopped working after one point, even her nose did not smell anything.
She was breathing but even the air did not have any properties to it anymore. Her state at the end was simply devastating… so, when she found out that her eyes were still working fine, she could not help but be curious about it.
As someone who had gained significant control over her physical body thanks to her mentor, she could do it when her body was not working as it should.
So, the response of her eyes that was not even getting any Mana surprised her.
[{ "Putting this into words is difficult, but… this is what you wanted, right?" }]
Rein looked at the right left of the room, in a place where nothing was present aside from the unbroken walls.
She was looking at someone, someone that Eon could not perceive.
{ "Ptsssss… indeed, Great Lady." }
A familiar hiss.
Though, the green eyes that should be accompanying that hiss were not present in that direction.
And yet, she kept looking that way and after a moment, even smiled to herself.
[{( I did not know… )}]
A voice resonated throughout the place, throughout every single element that was present in this room including the Naga and Eon.
Passing through every fiber of their being and sending a strange shiver down his spine, reminding him of a time that he had experienced a similar sensation.
"..."
It was a true voice.
Something he had felt before, as well as something he could not believe was coming from her.
[{( This world… )}]
The unfamiliar energy that he was feeling from her… it was divinity.
He had only realised it right now, and at the same time that he realised that…
[{ *Master…* }]
Lucy spoke up.
'A message from master…?'
[{ *Yes.* }]
He just realised something thanks to her as well.
Thanks to that True voice that she had just used, he remembered the last moments that he spent with his master. And, also the glorious moment when her Crown father became a part of his existence.
[{ "It's not too complicated, darling." }]
For a moment, the intensity of the light radiating from her eyes dimmed and she looked at him, smiling warmly.
[{ "Just let go… and you'll understand it as well." }]
After that smile, looking away from her, intensifying the pink light coming from her eyes, she wrapped the light around her, and lifted herself off the ground.
[{ "The use of our inherent divinity is instinctual… bound by the Laws of the world, caging us despite all the qualifications we have." }]
Right now, in his eyes, she looked like a goddess who had descended from heaven.
Her body was the same aside from the shade of her skin, however, the eyes and the Pinkness of the light radiating from her eyes made her look as eternal as the divine beings that he had seen before.
It was strange, in fact, it was mesmerising.
[{ "But… it's something that we possess already." }]
She had not unlocked any new powers.
She was simply using something that she possessed ever since she was born.
Though, until now, she had never really realised the fact that she possessed such a power.
Until just now, she did not know just how much there was to 'seeing' things. How much there was to the truth. Or, how little there was to the world that she had been seeing until now.
But now that she was seeing everything… everything that existed around them, she could not fathom it herself.
[{ "So, darling." }]
Her eyes were something that saw the truths. They did not give her the understanding of those truths directly, so there were a lot of things that she could not understand yet.
It was the same as when she saw the entire world because of Eon's {Cascade of Ark}. There was a lot that she did not understand, but she could see everything.
It was pretty difficult to maintain this ability because of her little understanding of the things around her, but she could do it.
Through the Divinity of the unique skill that was part of her being, even though she could only access this power for a short while, she could See… everything.
[{ "You can do this as well." }]
The ability to see things, her eyes, the ability to see things and perceive them in a way that others could not, and, revealing the existence of the things that no one should be aware of…
It was a simple sounding ability, but, just like how she was flying with her newfound understanding of the truth of this space around her, she knew she will be able to do many more things with this ability as time passes.
[{ "It's not that difficult. Just, try and empty your head." }]
The light that was produced by her eyes was not actually simple light. This light illuminated things around them, revealing things that were not visible.
It was more profound than it sounded, and the Serpent with green eyes admiring her from a distance was the only one that actually understood it.
Even she who possessed this ability was unaware of the true potential of this ability. In fact, he was wrong about something…
This ability wasn't just something that used to belong to a simple [Crysos]. She wasn't heir to the ability of a simple Being but the heir of someone who stood even above those Primordial hounds.
Though, she'll only know the true meaning of that much later…
[{ "The divinity… is intoxicating." }]
It was a power that she knew she could not handle just yet.
It was unlike Mana or some other kind of 'energy'. If she kept using it for too long, she knew she would get devoured by it, or worse, she would lose Her very existence to this power.
"Still, you should try it~."
She landed on the ground and returned to normal. Her eyes also returned to normal, though it took her a moment to get used to the normal light present in the room.
Also, she was dizzy when she came down and almost fell to the ground… but he caught her in time.
"Hehe… it's quite a fun thing~."
She was happy right now. And, he could tell she was fine now.
She was in a much better state than just a moment ago, so he found at least that much a good thing.
And what she had been saying since earlier…
"Alright."
It had also given him the inspiration that he needed.
"Let's try it."
He had an idea about what she wanted him to do, what they had to do to get out of this place, and he was going to try it now.
Still, he did not know what the outcome would be, so he was a little hesitant.
