Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 1137: A warning to the little one

[Eon's POV: ]

"Anna, since we will soon finish with the preparations, there are some things I want you to know." It was finally time for the difficult talk.

The summoning circle was almost done. We will start with the practice trials soon so I needed her to know the risks we were taking as well as the possibilities that might occur due to the changing possibilities.

"First of all, I shall tell you about the Causality."

Anna was wearing a pretty dress that she made in the clothing room upstairs with her other sisters.

They were planning a tea party soon so they were preparing for that, and it was a good thing.

Training all day long was not a good thing. She was still a young girl so playing around was something she needed to do.

'She was focusing too much on her training and practice as well, so the other ladies including Aunt Mime had encouraged her for this. It was going to be a good change of pace for all of them… for all of us, actually.'

She looked happy right now. And she had been excited about all this for a while as well.

There obviously was some anxiety and uncertainty, but she knew how to deal with it. She was ready for the summoning physically, but she still needed some mental clarifications to get prepared completely.

"Are you listening?" She was attentive as well, but since we were in the same room where the summoning would take place, just the two of us this time, she was looking around the place.

She was watching the new things that had not been here with an excited and interested look, trying to understand the complex structures of the summoning array with a curious look.

"I'm listening, big brother~. You were going to talk about the relationship between cause and effect~."

She was surely listening right now, but she needed to pay more attention to this talk so I stood up from my chair and walked before her eyes, which were observing the room on the other side.

"Anna, this is not as simple as you might think, dear." Kneeling before her, I spoke in a serious but calm voice as I looked into her ruby eyes.

"Causality is the relationship between cause and effect, yes, but we have to understand it as the principle that states everything has a cause.

You see, everything we do during the summoning, everything we have done till that point, and everything that will happen after the summoning starts will have a cause."

Maybe it will be connected to us, maybe it will be something unrelated to us, or maybe it will be something completely different. Whatever it may be, there will be a cause, and depending on the impact of that cause, the result of the summoning will change significantly.

"There will be some very specific set of instructions that I will give you during the summoning, and you must follow them without caring about anything that happens in this room." Explore more stories at My Virtual Library Empire

Every single thing will affect the end result of the summoning.

What we were doing here was not simply summoning a creature. If it was just that, we would not even have needed the resources and this entire room to create a magic circle as intricate as this one.

"Hmmm?"

Anna might have seen and read about the summoning process, and she was smart enough to understand the thing that we were doing here was not simple summoning. She also knew there was something much more to this whole summoning process as well.

She had not asked me thinking I would not tell her something she did not want to know, and she had asked Zoe who refused to tell her about any of this.

"There is a reason we didn't tell you about this process before. Everything you know, everything you think, everything that you do during the process will impact the final summoning."

I was trying to control the causes to control the error rate as much as possible. The targeted summoning was not going to filter out any specific creature with any specific characteristics. The process was going to take out all the unwanted elements in the process, and then analyze the needs of the core of the summoner, of Anna, and then pick out a singular entity that could help her in all specified manners.

The range of the summoning was not limited to just this planet, it was going to cover even the other worlds with Arcanum. As long as arcanum existed anywhere, the summoning process would prioritize an arcanum beast possessing what Anna needed right now.

"But big brother, do I really need something like that? I mean, if I just have to get a friend, why do you have to go so far for me?"

She could tell I was under pressure right now. She could feel the emotions I was feeling so she knew I had a lot of concerns as well.

'The presence of even the smallest variable could cause an outcome where we would risk everything we have here.'

I'm not going to tell her about the dangers right now, at least not the possibility that we might end up summoning something dangerous, but since there is a possibility, it was better if she didn't know about it.

"I know you're hiding things for my own good, but do we need all this?" She was just starting out with the arcane energy arts, so even the basic arcane beasts would have been enough for her to use her powers for the time being.

However, they would not have been efficient enough for her. Because of her energy's pure nature, she might even end up destroying the creatures upon forming a contract.

'She needed something specific, something that could not only withstand her energy, but something that could also help her use the power that she had in a better manner.'

Also, the being needed to have a certain growth limit. It needed to have the potential to get stronger, and probably evolve with the evolving powers of my Anna as well.

"You need this, Anna." It wasn't about whether she wanted a simple friend or a unique one that required this kind of preparation. She needed someone who could handle her powers with her.

"This is not necessary, but you still need this." She was just starting to get the hang of her powers, and yet her growth rate was so high that even the master would have been surprised by how fast she was learning.

She was a genius like Carla and Alf, and at the same time, she possessed a deep potential like Rein and me.

'The creature she chooses for her first contract, the arcane beast that would be with her for her lifetime, also needed to be at least special enough for her unique powers.'

She would need the beast to use her powers. She would need this beast to channel the energy she had so the beast also needed to have compatibility with her or else the disharmony would destroy it more than it would affect her.

"The causality is going to be something we must look out for, but that's for the rest of us to take care of. There will be other things for you, Anna."

Starting with the energy maintenance, she will have to handle the energy output. She will also have to stay within the core of the spell without moving so that she doesn't disrupt the spell in any manner, and along with that, she would also have to follow the instructions to make our task easier.

But above all those things, there was one thing she needed to keep in mind.

"Anna." Looking at her with the most serious expression I could make before her, which wasn't serious enough as far as I know, I spoke in an even more serious tone.

"Whatever happens during the summoning, please don't do anything You would not."

This was not a simple summoning process. This was also an experiment.

I don't think there is any recorded case of something like this being done in the last few thousand years.

Perhaps the older people used to do this during their deity summonings, or perhaps the Rakshasas of old times were the main pillars of this kind of summoning process.

'However, I was doing something even more specific.'

The process was complex since I didn't know how to make it simpler yet, the process required very specific things that I know will cost a kingdom outside of this tower, and I know without us maintaining the elements of this process, the whole thing would be impossible.

"Promise me you'll do what my little love would, at all times."

I wanted her to act in a specific way and yet I was telling her to be herself.

'It was contradictory since if something happens to me or Zoe or Rein in the process, she would not do what she was supposed to do.'

She would have to consider her emotions over the logic of the process, and she could not understand how she was supposed to do that.

"You'll know what I mean when we do it."

The explanation was complicated so I was not going to risk any errors by telling her. Keeping her in the dark was part of the plan here. She will know what my words mean when the time comes.

'And when that time comes, I want her to remember these words.'

She will need them when she comes face to face with something… complex.

'Emotions were her thing. She simply needed to remember that fact.'
