JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Horizons

Chapter 10: Chapter 7: The Warhead’s Waltz

Prologue: The Inferno's Prelude

The team emerged from the underground ruins, their bodies aching, their minds still sharp. The battle against Ryo "Bloodhound" Asakura had left them bruised but victorious. Yet, there was no time to rest.

The cathedral ruins stretched before them, but now, an eerie glow flickered in the distance. The scent of scorched stone and gunpowder tingled in the air.

Kenji wiped blood from his lip. "Smell that?"

Daisuke adjusted his broken sunglasses. "Explosives."

Akira's eyes narrowed. "Another enemy is waiting for us."

A slow, mocking clap echoed through the ruins.

From the smoldering shadows, she stepped forward.

Ayaka Fujiwara.

Codename: "The Warhead."

Stand: Hellfire Waltz.

She was clad in a long, crimson jacket, its edges scorched from past battles. Her piercing golden eyes gleamed with amusement, and across her belt were cylindrical canisters—each glowing faintly with residual heat.

"Congratulations," Ayaka said, smirking. "You survived Bloodhound. But now, you'll face something worse. A battlefield where every step is a death sentence."

She raised her hand and snapped her fingers.

BOOM!

The world erupted in fire.

Phase One: The Infernal Dance Begins

The shockwave split the ground apart, hurling stone and debris into the air. The team barely managed to scatter before another explosion detonated overhead, sending a rain of molten shrapnel in all directions.

Hiroshi barely dodged, rolling as fire singed the edges of his coat. "Damn it! She's controlling the blasts!"

Akira's mind raced. She's not just throwing bombs—she's orchestrating the battlefield itself.

Ayaka twirled on her heel, flicking a small metal sphere from her belt. It hovered for a second—then vanished.

Kenji's eyes widened. "Where—?!"

BOOM!

A massive explosion detonated from above, sending him crashing into a broken column. His Titan Soul barely absorbed the impact.

Ayaka grinned. "I can set explosives anywhere. In the air, on the ground… even inside your blind spots."

Akira clenched his fists. "She's manipulating the timing and location of the blasts. We need to move unpredictably!"

Daisuke blurred forward with Gale Phantom, using the wind to enhance his speed. He zigzagged toward Ayaka, testing her reflexes.

She flicked her fingers.

BOOM.

An explosion erupted exactly where he was about to step, cutting off his movement entirely.

He barely flipped away in time. "She's reading us too fast!"

Hiroshi unsheathed his katana, flames igniting along the blade. "Then we'll make it a fight she can't predict."

---

Phase Two: Breaking the Pattern

Akira's mind clicked. Ayaka isn't omniscient. She's reacting at incredible speed, but she still has to observe and calculate.

"Scatter formation!" he ordered.

Kenji, Hiroshi, and Daisuke split in different directions, forcing Ayaka to divide her focus.

For the first time, she hesitated.

Kenji capitalized on the moment, rushing in with brute force. Titan Soul's fists slammed the ground, sending shockwaves across the battlefield.

Ayaka cursed, leaping back—just as Hiroshi appeared behind her, Blazing Ronin's sword raised.

His flame-coated blade slashed downward.

BOOM!

A controlled explosion erupted beneath Ayaka's feet, launching her over Hiroshi's strike.

Midair, she grinned. "Nice try."

She flicked a canister downward.

It exploded instantly.

Hiroshi barely had time to shield himself as the blast sent him crashing backward, his body rolling across the ruins.

Akira clenched his fists. "She's countering us mid-move."

Ayaka dusted off her jacket. "Your teamwork's good. But my explosions don't just kill."

She lifted her hand—revealing small red embers clinging to Hiroshi's coat.

His eyes widened. "What—?"

The embers detonated.

BOOM!

Hiroshi screamed as the secondary explosion engulfed his body in fire.

Daisuke's heart pounded. "Hiroshi!!"

The swordsman collapsed, smoke rising from his burns. He was still breathing, but barely.

Ayaka smirked. "That's Hellfire Waltz's real trick. The first explosion is just a warm-up. The real blast comes when you least expect it."

Akira's mind raced. She's setting delayed explosions on us without us noticing…

---

Phase Three: The Counterattack

Akira focused, activating Echo Chamber. The battlefield became a sound map in his mind—every vibration, every tiny ember, every shifting fragment of stone.

He heard the faint ticking coming from Daisuke's back.

His eyes widened. "Daisuke, drop!"

Daisuke obeyed instantly—just as a hidden explosion detonated in the air behind him.

Ayaka's expression twitched.

Akira smirked. "You leave sonic imprints when you plant delayed explosions."

Ayaka frowned. "You can hear them?"

Akira pushed his glasses up. "And now, I can predict where they'll go off."

She clicked her tongue. "Tch. Annoying."

But Akira wasn't done.

"Kenji! Earthquake formation—NOW!"

Kenji slammed his fists into the ground.

Titan Soul's ability triggered—a massive shockwave split through the battlefield, shaking the ruins violently.

Ayaka stumbled. "What the—?!"

Daisuke seized the opening, Gale Phantom's winds kicking up debris everywhere.

Dust filled the air—blinding Ayaka.

Akira smirked. Now, she can't see where to set her explosions.

"Your battlefield just became our battlefield."

Ayaka gritted her teeth. "You think blinding me will stop me?"

She raised her hand, ready to detonate the entire battlefield at random—

But Hiroshi was already behind her.

His katana—burning white-hot—slashed downward.

SHIIING!

Ayaka's jacket split open, blood spraying into the air.

Her eyes widened in shock. "What—"

Hiroshi exhaled, his voice hoarse. "You should've made sure I was dead."

Her legs buckled. The damage was severe—too much for her to continue the fight.

Akira stepped forward. "It's over, Ayaka."

She clicked her tongue, staggering back. "Tch… Minh's gonna be pissed."

She pulled something from her belt—a small detonator.

Akira's eyes widened. "She's trying to blow herself up!"

BOOM!

A massive explosion engulfed the ruins—

But when the smoke cleared… she was gone.

Epilogue: The War Ahead

The team stood amidst the smoldering ruins, their bodies battered but victorious.

Kenji cracked his knuckles. "Damn… she got away."

Daisuke sheathed his Stand, breathing heavily. "Next time, we finish the job."

Hiroshi wiped blood from his blade. "She was strong. But she's not the last one."

Akira looked toward the horizon. The Phantom Syndicate was still out there.

And the real war… was only beginning.
