Chapter 30: Important Information
Li Sunhe deeply respected the masked man standing before him. Though the man appeared young, his strength was undeniable, and in the world of cultivators, strength commanded respect.
"Thank you for your kindness, Senior, and for saving me," Li Sunhe said, bowing respectfully.
Ye Chen waved his hand dismissively. "No need for formalities. I actually have some questions for you."
"As long as I can answer them, please ask, Senior," Li Sunhe responded.
Ye Chen got straight to the point. "Tell me about the major sects and powerful organizations in this country."
Li Sunhe hesitated before answering. "There are many sects, Senior, but most of them remain hidden. Only their members know their exact locations. That's why they are often called Hidden Sects. My cultivation level is not high enough to know all of them."
Seeing Ye Chen's dissatisfaction, Li Sunhe quickly added, "However, I do know the names of some of the strongest sects in the mortal world."
Ye Chen's interest was piqued. "Go on."
Li Sunhe took a deep breath. "The four strongest sects I know of are the Seven Swords Sect of Langin, the Cherry Blossom Sect, the Fire Valley Sect, and the Frozen Ice Sect. Aside from them, two major government organizations hold significant power: the Six-Door Organization and the Dragon Army."
"How powerful are these sects?" Ye Chen asked.
"I don't know the exact extent of their strength, but their elders are believed to have reached the Sky Realm," Li Sunhe replied uncertainly.
"Between the sects and the government organizations, which is the strongest?" Ye Chen pressed.
Li Sunhe thought for a moment before answering. "The Dragon Army is the strongest. Their duty is to defend the country from individuals with special abilities who pose a threat. The Six-Door Organization comes next; they oversee the sects to ensure they don't interfere with ordinary people. Then, in descending order of power, we have the Seven Swords Sect, the Cherry Blossom Sect, the Frozen Ice Sect, and the Fire Valley Sect."
"Mortal world? What do you mean by that?" Ye Chen asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Senior, cultivators who are not from the Holy Land of Khulun are considered mortal-world cultivators," Li Sunhe explained.
"So you're saying there exist even greater powers beyond these sects?" Ye Chen asked, intrigued.
"Yes, Senior. Khulun is a sacred land for cultivators, and the ones there wield unimaginable power. You are not from Khulun?" Li Sunhe asked cautiously.
"No, I'm not," Ye Chen replied. "Do you know where the Holy Land of Khulun is?"
Li Sunhe hesitated. "I've only heard rumors, but they say the entrance to Khulun is on Mount Khulun. However, reaching it is extremely dangerous. Even Sky Realm cultivators are said to be too weak to enter."
Ye Chen absorbed this information carefully, his curiosity growing.
"Is that all you know?" he asked.
"Yes, Senior, that's all," Li Sunhe confirmed.
Though the information was limited, it was enough for Ye Chen to gauge the power structure of this world.
"From what you said earlier, it sounds like you recently came from an ancient inheritance site," Ye Chen remarked.
Li Sunhe nodded. "Yes, I went there with two of my senior brothers under our master's guidance, but we underestimated the dangers inside. Both of my brothers lost their lives." His voice trembled with grief.
"Can you tell me where this ancient inheritance site is?" Ye Chen asked.
Li Sunhe pulled out a map from his robe and handed it to Ye Chen. "Here, Senior. This marks the location, but the core area is sealed by a barrier that no one has been able to break. That's why the Seven Swords Sect, Cherry Blossom Sect, Fire Valley Sect, and Frozen Ice Sect have decided to join forces to break the seal. I heard that the attempt is scheduled for two weeks from now."
"Many powerful sects will be involved, so if you go, Senior, you will see their true strength firsthand," Li Sunhe added.
Ye Chen examined the hand-drawn map and felt a strong urge to explore the site. He wanted to test the strength of these so-called powerful sects.
"Alright. Thank you for your help. I'll be on my way now," Ye Chen said before vanishing instantly.
Li Sunhe stood in awe, unable to trace where Ye Chen had gone. "That senior was incredibly powerful. I was fortunate to witness such strength in my lifetime."
With that, Li Sunhe also departed.
Ye Chen returned to his hotel room and lay on his bed, deep in thought. The information Li Sunhe provided confirmed that this world was filled with powerful cultivators.
He recalled how Yu Ting's decision had changed his life. If not for her, he might have remained an ordinary person forever, never discovering the vastness of this world.
As exhaustion overtook him, Ye Chen closed his eyes and drifted into sleep.
Unbeknownst to him, a mysterious iron gate near him began to glow faintly, absorbing a small amount of his energy. But Ye Chen remained unaware as he slept peacefully, unaware of what fate had in store for him.
