Lookism: Forbidden Knowledge

Chapter 2: CHAPTER 2- Training

Daniel sat in silence for a few minutes, his mind racing.

He did not like fighting and stuff. But after reading the webtoon he found out that he was going to participate in life threathing fights.

"Is there a way to escape this fate?" he wondered. "But what if trying to change things only makes them worse?"

The thought weighed heavily on him, but he knew one thing for sure—there was no turning back now.

"I have to become stronger," he muttered to himself. "I can't afford to be weak anymore."

His gaze shifted to the clock. 8:47 AM.

Suddenly, a sharp pang of hunger hit him. He sighed. His first body was always starving. If he wanted to change, he had to fix his appetite and start a proper diet. No more mindless eating. No more junk food.

Then he forced himself to get by on a single cup of ramen. Though it was junk food, he didn't have enough money to buy himself a proper meal, but it was a good start.

As he ate, his mind drifted back to the webtoon. He needed a plan.

"First, I have to lose all this excess weight," he murmured. "But how?"

In the manhwa, he had trained under Sophia. But there was a problem—meeting her this fast was impossible.

His eyes narrowed as a new thought formed. What if I followed the same training, but with Vasco instead?

Vasco was strong, disciplined, kind and most importantly, he trained him for the first time in the future.

There was no one else that could train him.

If he wanted to train with Gun it would be impossible as there would be no way that Gun would accept him as a student. At least not now.

Determined, Daniel clenched his fists. His journey had already begun. This time, he wouldn't just wait for things to happen.

He would take control of his fate.

Daniel stepped outside, inhaling the crisp morning air. If he wanted to train with Vasco, he had to meet him first—but that wasn't possible with his current body. If he approached Vasco now, he would be a stranger in his eyes.

No, he thought. I have to do this the right way.

The plan was simple: he would befriend Vasco using his second body. Then, once they were close, he would introduce his first body as his "brother." That way, Vasco would be more willing to train him.

But until then, he needed to get stronger on his own.

He went over everything he had—his copy skill, ultra instinct, near god-like talent, and, of course, his perfect second body. Any one of these would be considered a blessing. Yet, he had them all!

This is more than enough.

Determined, he set off at a sprint toward the nearest park. His legs burned with every step, but he forced himself to push through. By the time he arrived, he was already out of breath.

Without wasting a moment, he dropped to the ground and attempted a push-up.

His arms gave out instantly, sending him face-first into the dirt.

Pain shot through his body, but he gritted his teeth. No, he thought. I can't stop. Not when I know what's coming.

He kept trying, his body aching with each failure. Again. And again. His arms shook, his breath came in ragged gasps, but he refused to quit.

After 20 minutes of struggling, his body finally gave up, leaving him sprawled on the ground. But his mind didn't surrender. He took a five-minute break, then forced himself back up.

With renewed determination, he tried again. This time, his body trembled—but he pushed through.

He did it.

A single, proper push-up.

Daniel let out a shaky laugh. Then, with a grin, he kept going.

By the end of an hour, he could do 15 push-ups non-stop and had completed a total of 100 push-ups.

"My talent really is god-like," he thought, smiling to himself.

But he wasn't done yet. After another short break, he walked over to the pull-up bar. His arms were still shaking, but he grabbed onto the bar and pulled.

He barely managed a single pull-up before his grip failed, sending him crashing down.

But failure didn't scare him. He kept trying.

Another hour passed, and by the end of it, he could do 10 pull-ups non-stop and had completed 100 in total.

Exhausted but satisfied, he sprinted back home. His legs felt like lead, but the rush of accomplishment pushed him forward.

The moment he stepped inside, his body finally gave in.

He collapsed, breathing heavily.

But this was just the beginning.

As soon as he closed his eyes, his consciousness slipped away.
